Post Np. 1,720 - Interesting Reading/Viewing and Posts from my Other Blogs / YouTube Channel

This week I have made the following posts on my other blogs:

Political Musings of Kayleen:

  • Human Rights Day
Today is Human Rights Day - the anniversary of the day in 1948 when the UN’s General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which had been developed by a wide range of people and organisations - including the USA’s Eleanor Roosevelt, the Republic of China’s P. C. Chang, Lebanon’s Charles Malik, France’s RenĂ© Cassin, Canada's John Peters Humphrey, India’s Hansa Mehta, and Australia’s William Roy Hodgson, as well as UNESCO, which conducted a global survey of values to inform this process, anthropologists who warned against ethnocentrism, and others.
. . . There is still, however, a need for work to see basic human rights that many take for granted realised . . . One example of that need is happening right now in Uganda
     . . .
  • More thoughts on human rights
Recently, a staggering incident of duplicity and/or racism was exposed when a court was shown CCTV footage that may clear an Indigenous man of the assault police had charged him with - footage the police claimed did not exist
     . . .
In contrast to that, activities for Human Rights Day . . .
Next, a couple of calls for new human rights.
     . . .
  • Why we should care about what is happening in Tigray
I had started this some time ago, and my original concerns - about the conflict possibly spreading - are now somewhat moot, but it is worth briefly considering a few points, though.
