Post No. 3,290 - “Modern Monarchy”

Over centuries to millennia, humans changed society to move from monarchies and/or empires to a world where democracy was known and, to some extent, realised in a fair few places in the world.

Some internet searching on this change yielded the following:

and an AI summary:    “The transition from monarchy to democracy involved a series of historical events, including revolutions, wars, and the gradual demand for political rights by the populace. Key moments included the establishment of constitutional monarchies, the influence of Enlightenment ideas, and significant revolutions like the American and French Revolutions, which promoted the idea of government by the people.”

But now, the modern world is in a situation where democracy is being undermined and supplanted - not only by those who want a monarch (like the M_ G_o/oPr_j_cto2_25ocultists in the USA), but by ultra-rich elites pushing what is, in effect, a new, modern form of monarchy - much as slavery is now occurring in a new form termed modern slavery.

What is that modern form of monarchy?

Corporate (or state) capture ...

This is the mechanism by which oligarchs etc express their power, it seems to me.

It also provides a way of addressing their evil influences without having to attack them directly (although things like restoring use of the term "robber baron" might be appropriate and useful), which is good as, as with the old form of monarchy, the modern version needs to be overcome and thrown out.

To explain the term, see:

and an AI summary “Corporate capture refers to the process by which corporations exert undue influence over government institutions and decision-making, often prioritising their interests over public welfare. This can lead to policies and regulations that benefit corporations at the expense of the environment, public health, and social equity.”

The value of giving it the term modern monarchy is that it gives a historical context to the actions - specifically, a successful historical context, one that reminds us we have removed or rendered ineffective tyrants before.

However, such change must be non-violent lest the violence will taint what is created - as exemplified by the USA in particular.

Possible flaws

Where I can, I will try to highlight possible flaws / issues you should consider:

  • there may be flawed logical arguments in the above: to find out more about such flaws and thinking generally, I recommend Brendan  Myers’ free online course “Clear and Present Thinking”
  • I could be wrong - so keep your thinking caps on, and make up your own minds for yourself.

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).
