My adoptive home state of Victoria has experienced and is still experiencing record levels of heat (see The Guardian, EnviroLink, A(ustralian)BC, Reuters, and WeatherZone) and bushfires (see Wikipedia, The Guardian, A(ustralian) BC, and Victorian Government) and associated impacts such as smoke.
As a women over 65 with asthma and other health problems, in a household of people with health issues including someone undergoing chemotherapy, in a typical Australian house (including limited air conditioning), all of this has had a major impact on what we have been doing ... basically, our focus has switched to surviving and managing health risks.
Some of the linked articles above have some of the excellent advice to us and others on that, and for those more directly impacted (e.g., possibly losing their homes) there is assistance available from the state government and, sometimes, better banks.
I’ve only had major problems on the hottest day, but not severe enough to have to seek medical assistance. (The smoke from bushfires has meant we can't open the house to cool it in the early morning hours.)
However, all this has meant writing has to take a back seat - which is extremely frustrating, but that's what is going to happen more and more thanks to climate denialist amathiacs, who, I am starting to think, should possibly be charged with mass atrocity crimes ...
Possible flaws
Where I can, I will try to highlight possible flaws / issues you should consider:
