Post No. 3,090 - UFOs/UAPs/ETs, UFOlogy, and ... ethics

This episode is well worth a listen and a think, in my opinion:

“Cosmosis [Formerly The UFO Rabbit Hole]: Ep 8: Mysterious Benefactors: Skywatcher, Gifted Tech, and the Complicated Ethics of Contact”   https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/cosmosis-formerly-the-ufo-rabbit-hole/id1595590107?i=1000703956117   “Fresh from the Archives of the Impossible conference at Rice University, Kelly and Jay sit down to unpack one of the most talked-about moments of the weekend—a provocative presentation by Dr. Garry Nolan on his involvement with the Skywatcher initiative.   Skywatcher is an emerging public-facing effort claiming to demonstrate CE5-style contact, utilise psionic assets, with the aim of potentially reverse-engineering non-human technologies. The implications are enormous—and so are the questions.”   The questions, aspects, and issues raised in this episode are excellent, and the concepts are well considered.

The episode also referred to   “The Ethics of Contact: UFOs, Phenomenology & the Transformative Power of Experience”   https://youtu.be/XH-SHmRygLY      which is also worth a view and a think.

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).

Post No. 3,089 - Reflections on the past week, and some interesting reading/viewing [Content Warning - oppression/bigotry/hate/violence/abuse/war. Reader discretion is advised]

Note: CONTENT WARNING - some of this content is about upsetting, disturbing or triggering events & attitudes. Seek competent help - including professional - if you need it. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander readers are advised that linked articles may contains names and/or images of deceased people. READER CAUTION IS RECOMMENDED! For anyone distressed by anything in this post, or for any other reason considering seeking support, resources are available in Australia here, here, and here. In other nations, you will have to do an Internet search using terms such as mental health support - <your nation>(which, for instance, may lead to this, this, and this, in the USA, or this, this, and this, in France [biased towards English-language - my apologies]), or perhaps try https://www.befrienders.org/

The purposes of this post are:

(1) to provide information, including news, which may be of interest, value, or use to Readers;

(2) to identify both BPM and nonBPM opportunities to do the work of this blog (particularly clearing nonBPM nonphysical  units,   BPM  healing,   and   BPM  strengthening of BPM units - the news items helps draw in/helps me find those people and other units in need of any of the help I can provide);   and

(3) to help engage and frame my emotional, mental, and other nonphysical (psychic, spiritual, Higher Self, BPM  Guides, etc) aspects both for doing my weekly PWR and for doing the work that flows from the PWR - which may also occur for some others.

Some of the news information will likely be distressing - hence the content warning, to allow people to choose times they have high energy and/or are in a good state to view these, or to ensure they have access to support resources if they may be triggered, or to choose to either temporarily or permanently skip viewing this post or the News sections, as is best for their health and wellbeing.

Within the news section, I generally try to identify what is considered “good” news in green, possibly also with green background, but owing to time, energy, and health limitations, may not always be able to do so.

URLs of sources of news and/or information are included as in-text hyperlinks.

News:

On the existential climate crisis and nuclear threats this week:      the woman who identified Mother Trees has been dealing with the “backlash against nature-based solutions to the climate crisis”;      nations have reached an agreement to reduce shipping emissions;      70 coal power plants in the USA will be allowed to emit mercury and other toxic air pollution;      15% of the world*s farmlands are polluted with toxic metals.

In the global war against the radical right/f_s c_sm (including their networks, and their goose-stepping thugs - who can, must, and will be held to account for their sadistic abuses and usurpations that have been so egregiously destructive of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness) this week (and for links on what can be done - now, see Resistance Labs, “How to Think (and Act) Like a Dissident Movement” (The Bulwark), here [Indivisible], Hands Off 2025, and Dem-Optimism and this [Robert Reich] and this [AOC] and this [Devon Price] aand this [PBS Voices] and this [on burnout] and this [efficacy of nonviolent protest] and this book and this book and this and these links - but take particular note of this book, which was developed by and for those in authoritarian states):

PS - “Here Are The Steps Trump Is Taking To Potentially Dismantle Democracy”   https://youtu.be/2fwhamNgNCs   This makes the excellent and very important point that most dictators/authoritarians want the façade of credibility, and thus go for sham elections rather than force - which suggests the current US president deciding to use the insurrection act is less likely         Also, this is an excellent point by point summary (“undisputed fact sheet”) about the man the US regime agrees was renditioned to El Salvador by mistake

I came across a perspective during the week that H_t l_r was allowed to sleep through D Day because “by that point, H_t l_r wasn’t running a government. He was running a cult of sycophants and suck ups, hanging on his every whim and tantrum, too scared to face the man and too weak to stand up to him.   His staff were no longer commanders. They were cowards ...” - as they had been two years before, when their insane despot-in-chief refused to believe what was happening in Stalingrad ...

In this week when the USA continues to follow Viktor Orbán’s playbook and makes the current US president’s authoritarian vision plain and starts crossing red lines - including offering praise and glorification of the current president’s name - that could lead to the current regime being officially considered a dictatorship, something worth thinking about for EVERY authoritarian ...

Another mechanism that needs to be kept in mind is the possible use of the Insurrection Act - as VERY well explained here, which the current US president set the stage for 90 days ago ...   If that happens, the US military will have to decide whether they will uphold their oaths to the US constitution, or became agents of evil ...

Timothy Snyder, who has left the USA for safety reasons, also wrote, this week, about state terror.  And that is a good point to remind everyone that this is a Pagan blog, and I have written about the topic of (psychic) protection in a number of places - and also digital safety, which is largely about putting personal convenience way down the list of priorities, to where it belongs. There is also quite a bit being written about activism, but I consider those in the USA are at a point where they need to consider the techniques in this book as well as, or perhaps even more than the advice to date, as it was developed by and for those in authoritarian states.

But another aspect of being human that needs to be thought of is the urge of too many people “to destroy that from which you feel excluded” ...

Overall/in summary, reviewing a range (remember, this is global, not USA-focused) of press reports and commentary has left me with the following impressions:   othering / distancing / indifference, and cruelty were added to the usual problems on display this week

Also in the USA, where their current president, who has been persistently  sanewashed by the mainstream  media, has committed abuses and usurpations that are egregiously destructive of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness, this week, we have:

  • §   Growing concerns about the current US president’s mental state (although no problems were indicated by his dementia test [which he cluelessly misunderstands or unethically misrepresents]) - including from a family member who says the family lived by zero sum gain interactions and existed to get money and nothing else (which is why another utterly outrageous and likely to be rejected out of hand resources demand has been made of Ukraine), and “fund managers who quietly fear [the current US president] doesn’t have a tariff plan and that he ‘might be insane’”, those fund managers being, IMO, very, very, VERY slow to catch on to both these points - possibly because of things like this, this, and this.   There are also concerns about what this “caged egotist”, who has failed badly (as shown by M_ sk’s cut back and likely still vastly over-estimated savings - which come at a devastating social cost), will do next - which could well be aggression, including possible military invasions.   In terms of what to do, new trade alliances - possibly using a different currency - are already forming, but need to do what they can politically as well;
  • §   On renditions, disappearances, deportations and severe abuse to cause self-deportations,   which is based on repurposing key words/phrases and a claim of linkage that US intelligence disputes,   following the support of SCOTUS (who are a crucially needed foundation for the current US president ... ) for the judge who ordered an illegally renditioned man be returned to the USA (and has now ordered expedited proceedings  and  depositions), regime lawyers confirmed the man is in El Salvador (and the president of El Salvador refuses to return the man - but a US Senator has now met  with him [such actions can make treatment better, and promote being kept alive - see here for an account of that meeting, including the blatant propaganda] ), but made no effort to comply with the rest of the orders ... and subsequently  indicated  an intent to refuse to comply with the directions as concerns grow that delays in a federal court over another person are to give the regime time to rendition that person.   However, the original judge has now found probable cause that the US regime is in criminal  contempt, and has started proceedings that could lead to jail time (FINALLY!!! I hope the jail time includes those who wrongly implemented this contempt).         Meanwhile, another judge confirmed people (decision only applies to one person so far) can be deported for opinions that are seen as “counter to US foreign policy interests”,   legal aid to those facing possible deportation has been cut,   government agents attempted to break in to a PRIMARY SCHOOL to interrogate students on ludicrous pretexts of “looking for criminals” and then “wanting to do a welfare check” (they were denied entry),   the Dean of Columbia’s journalism school told students, no one can protect you ... (this video included the presenting Christian priest’s religious inspiration and exhortation to resist),   hundreds of Jewish protesters have demanded the release of non-US students abducted by ICE,   and   the US president stated an intention to also  send  US citizens to El Salvador;
    Elsewhere in the world, the EU has weakened asylum safeguards by listing seven nations as safe, which is questionable, and Pakistan has forcibly deported 60,000 Afghans;
  • §   Silencing media/dissent   Media  outlets - and others (including law firms who are irresponsibly, unethically, unprofessionally and gutlessly pre-emptively complying) - continue to be targetted,   AP News is still locked out of the White House despite a court order,   and the White House refuses to admit to real science and decency and will ignore certain reporters.      And the USA will now allow foreign governments/organisations to lie as much as they want ... (just like the US regime?)     §   Voter suppression concerns about disenfranchising people - particularly married women - with the SAVE  Act as an entirely republican state supreme court votes (partially) against a republican candidate’s attempt to steal an election ... but allows racial disenfranchisement;
  • §   On economic and financial matters,   investors are sparking fears that major banks and traders are losing faith in the USA as a safe place to store their money by dumping once-reliable US government bonds - despite the tariff pause and the  TEMPORARY   exclusion of smartphones, computers and other electronics (and the US president’s ludicrous and unbelievable claims  that the tariff war is going well [apart from the economic damage, the tariffs are only collecting ~$300 million, NOT $2 billion per day] are only exacerbating concerns about his mental state). Meanwhile Bernie Sanders continues to talk about the get-richer-quicker mentality of the already-rich, and their hate for workers;

This week, noting this call to bear  witness (further noting the cautions on hate speech here, here, here, and here,   and this and these “links for activism”,   see the decision on the “Legal Consequences arising from the Policies and Practices of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem”, and note this pending [and disputed] case [South Africa v. Israel] regarding alleged genocide and this pending [and disputed] case regarding the “Obligations of Israel in relation to the Presence and Activities of the United Nations, Other International Organisations and Third States in and in relation to the Occupied Palestinian Territory” from the ICJ), the Israel-Palestine war has seen:

  • elsewhere, it appears shadowbanning may still be occurring.

In other international news, including the illegal and unprovoked war against Ukraine (noting the pending [and disputed] alleged genocide cases for The Gambia v. Myanmar, with seven States intervening,   Ukraine v. Russian Federation,   Sudan v. United Arab Emirates at the ICJ and these “links for activism”):

  • §   Ukraine:   After clumsy wording which appeared to suggest Ukraine could be partitioned like Berlin after second world war, the US envoy has clarified (claimed?) this was about troop responsibilities in the Ukraine 'reassurance force' - which has troop promises from six nations (one unidentified) so far, and, noting 40% of Ukraine’s weapons production is domestic,  Europe has pledged  new military support (including $940 million from Norway to train and equip a brigade and $990 billion from the UK) for Ukraine as that US envoy meets Russia’s president Putin - and the current US president (quietly) extends President Biden’s sanctions against Russia for another year (the EU is also considering options to bypass Hungary’s possible blocking on extended and/or increased sanctions against Russia), but also opposes ANY military aid to Ukraine (presumably so he can get his money sooner).   Meanwhile, the US regime has cut its transactional financial compensation/repayment demands to .      A reminder to NATO and the rest of the world (including the USA) that drone expertise at scale means the Ukrainian army is probably the best in the world, and the Russian army second best - both far better adapted to drone warfare than those relying on the now outmoded wars of manoeuvre.      Reuters reports have clarified that around 100 Chinese fighting with Russian forces are mercenaries with no official status (and Russian recruitment bonuses have started being reduced), but Chinese military officers are present behind the lines to observe and derive tactical lessons (and North Korea is providing most of Russia’s artillery munitions - and has received over $20 billion of benefits for doing so ... and India is providing Russia with “cheap loans” ... ).      An attack, which reportedly included  banned  cluster  munitions (also used by Ukraine, albeit against military targets [but UXO can be a lingering problem]), on civilians, including many children, in the Ukrainian city of Sumy has been described as a war crime, including by the US envoy (who has military service with experience of targetting) but the USA has blocked a statement by the G7 condemning the attack. Ukraine’s President has commented that the attack shows Russia is not afraid of current international pressure, and called for more pressure - as well as inviting the current US President to visit Ukraine and see what is happening, given the potential global spread of the conflict if Russia continues to reclaim former soviet, now NATO, nations.   However, the current US negotiator appears to be leaning towards ceding Ukrainian sovereignty ...       As Czechia achieves independence from Russian gas supplies for the first time, the current US regime’s zero sum game attitude is causing some European nations to consider repurchasing gas from Russia (they should have developed alternative sources of heating, such as heat pumps!!! Or did what Czechia did).      “a French court has authorised the enforcement of a $5 billion arbitration award against Russia for damages caused to Ukraine's state-owned energy company Naftogaz during the occupation of Crimea”;
  • §   elsewhere:      the US regime has proposed halving the US State Department’s budget and eliminating funding for the United Nations and NATO headquarters - which, if it does proceed, is where the rest of the world has to step up, and possibly relocate both facilities to Europe;      “Russia’s Supreme Court [has] removed its designation of the [T_l_ b_n] as a terrorist organisation”;      the IAEA warns Iran is close to having a nuclear bomb;      a documentary forcing Denmark to confront their colonialist actions in Greenland has been forced off air for what are suspected to be political (i.e., embarrassment) reasons ... ;      yet more atrocities are being committed in the world’s largest  humanitarian crisis (the EU and UK will send aid) of the civil/UAE-Saudi proxy war in Sudan (an imminent report alleges resupply of rebels via Chad, possibly from the UAE) - which is destabilising the region in six key ways (and UK efforts to set up a group to solve the conflict have failed);      South Sudan is on the brink of internal war (and being “on the brink” is exactly the sort of situation where the work of this blog could most help);      the Haiti crisis could harm regional and global stability;      after threats to some members and in response to vastly changed circumstances, Hong Kong’s pro-democracy will close;      French-Algerian tensions continue to grow;      grave concerns that the head of a social media platform has compromised the security of US citizens to China;      violent attacks - including automatic weapons in one case - against French prisons have been linked to the campaign against drugs;      Tunisia has “dramatically expanded” its use of politically motivated arrests;      “as the world plunges into historic turmoil, Australia’s election debate fusses over minor tax tweaks.

In human  rights  news:

  • §   LGBTQIASB+:   the current federal ALP government has made “a $10 million commitment to “strengthen Medicare” and improve primary care for LGBTQIA+ Australians if re-elected”;      in the USA elected trans representatives have achieved two major wins   and a court has blocked the current US regime’s attempt to remove school lunch money over trans students,   but in another state, gender affirming care for trans adult is being paused, and may end - activism led to its continuation, although the threat to adult trans care still exists and is growing (with a snitch form being launched) and a call has been made for other nations to accept trans refugees - and Hungary has gone down the same LGBTQIA+ phobic and science and decency denying  trans-hating path as the USA, and the UK just green lit anti-trans hate;      a US Judge has blocked the US regime’s anti-trans passport ban because of government animus, equal protection, and because transgender people’s passport changes do NOT, as the executive order falsely stated, deprive the “dignity, safety, and well-being of women”;
  • §   racism/white supremacism:      after 90 years, the disappearance of an Indigenous man who defended women in his tribe against police, leading to a culture war across Australia (with revulsion at the then recent Coniston massacre gaining the upper hand), after a successful appeal against a racist trial verdict with rumours of a revenge police killing, is still having an impact.

In societal and governance matters:      the problem of online radicalisation of the young;    What happens if disease wipes out one or more of the world’s staple crops?”.

From a spiritual perspective:      Everyone who has ever taken the easy, rather than the right (inclusive) way, needs to reflect on how that has led the USA to where it is now. Everyone who has ignored complexity and nuance, such as the fact that humans do NOT have two distinct and clear chromosomal camps, needs to fix their fatal flaws and rectify the harms they have done. And everyone who has ever been petty or vindictive or refused to cope with giving up dreams for the the sake of the greater good needs to undo the evil they have committed

On the resistance to fascism:

  • “This week’s winners of the Joseph Welch and Neville Chamberlain awards”   https://robertreich.substack.com/p/more-candidates-for-the-neville-chamberlain   Harvard University gets the Welch. Seven big law firms get the Chamberlain.   ...   Joseph Welch was the brave person who stood up to Senator Joe McCarthy’s communist witch hunt at the Army-McCarthy Hearings in 1954 — asking McCarthy, in front of the nation’s television cameras, “Have you no sense of decency?” — thereby precipitating McCarthy’s downfall   ...   Neville Chamberlain Award ... is given to people or organisations that exemplify the cowardice of Britain’s prime minister from 1937 to 1940, who tried (in vain) to appease H_t l_r.”   Harvard may inspire other resistance and has seen over  US$2 billion  frozen after it sent a powerful rejection to the US regime’s threat, but has adequate resources to cover that, and staff have spoken forcefully against what the US regime is attempting to do in what could become a test of the limits of government power.
  • This is probably the best online summary of the preparation and critique of the UDHR I have come across online:   “The Declaration to Save Us All - W2W 21 - 1948 Q2”   https://youtu.be/_xyu65SL5zU

Here are some llinks that might also be of interest or value:

  • This week I came across some older videos on plant consciousness and dignity:   “Are plants conscious?” | Stefano Mancuso | TEDxGranVíaSalon   https://youtu.be/gBGt5OeAQFk   Unfortunately, this video had a TERRIBLE volume (the speaker should have used a mike: I had to adjust volume up and down), but the content of the presentation was thoughtful and interesting;      “Tomatoes talk, birch trees learn – do plants have dignity?” | Florianne Koechlin | TEDxZurich   https://youtu.be/i8YnvMpcrVI   Although I disagree with the non-Vegan aspects of this talk, it won an IgNobel prize in 2008 - see also https://www.esalq.usp.br/lepse/imgs/conteudo_thumb/The-Dignity-of-Plants.pdf   and   https://pragmatos.net/2008/11/29/the-dignity-of-living-beings-with-regard-to-plants/   (which has an interesting decision tree, and a summary of key points). The mention of the Swiss constitution stating all life has dignity was interesting, but when I checked, it was in the context of Article 120  Gene Technology in the Non-Human Field”, with this 1999 source citing that as “(2) The Federation adopts rules on the use of reproductive and genetic material of animals, plants, and other organisms. It takes thereby into account the dignity of the creature and the security of man, animal and environment, and protects the genetic multiplicity of animal and plant species.”, and this 2002 source citing that as “2 The Confederation shall legislate on the use of the reproductive and genetic material of animals, plants, and other organisms. In doing so, it shall take into account the dignity of creation and the security of man, animal and environment, and shall protect the genetic multiplicity of animal and vegetal species.”, which is disappointingly limited (and sexist, in wording);      “Eavesdropping on plants” | Jack Schultz | TEDxMU   https://youtu.be/zTQVLfG3sgM
  • “Is there scientific proof we can heal ourselves?” | Lissa Rankin, MD | TEDxAmericanRiviera   https://youtu.be/LWQfe__fNbs   The benefit identified is of feeling like someone cares for one - of being tended. The body can either heal or harm itself (the video looks at placebo/nocebo effects, but similar results have been associated with hypnosis), but we need the feeling of being nurtured.   This led to a book   “Mind Over Medicine - REVISED EDITION: Scientific Proof That You Can Heal Yourself”   https://www.amazon.com.au/Mind-Over-Medicine-Scientific-Yourself-ebook/dp/B085BT9TGX/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0   which is being updated in recent years (the presenter has left formal medicine) to include what is termed “spirituality”, but seems to be focused on mainstream religions;
  • “This one weird trick overcomes dogmas”   https://youtu.be/lzr_1jEkq7Y   This examines the problems of flawed worldviews and self esteem

    • from YouTube and elsewhere on neurodivergence:
      • “What If the DSM-5 Got Autism Wrong?”   https://larivierre.substack.com/p/what-if-the-dsm-5-got-autism-wrong   “A French Canadian researcher thinks so, and takes it apart, piece by piece.”   Pascale Larivierre   This discusses the paper “Si l’autisme n’est pas une maladie, qu’est-ce ?” (“If autism is not an illness, what is it?”) by French Canadian researcher Laurent Mottron, which proposes Autism as an Asymmetrical Bifurcation - others being “left-handedness, homosexuality or breech birth”, being phenomena that aren’t “caused” by anything but have always existed as natural variations in human development
