Well, it’s been a good week – an interesting week, actually. Towards
the end of the previous week, I attended a
HAZOP in Tasmania (I think I may
have mentioned that already, actually), and went to work this week, getting ready
for another interstate trip, when I found out that one of the attendees at the
previous meeting had been diagnosed with swine flu – so, within the hour, I –and
the other attendees at the HAZOP - had been packed off home for medical
quarantine for a one week period after the end of the HAZOP. Well, the week is
up, and I actually feel BETTER than
normal. Why? Well, I’m not spending two hours fighting traffic through the
inner city, and I’m not spending ten hours in an air conditioned and carpeted office
where the psychic energy has been turned into a sewer by an economic downturn
and the consequences of that (and some
small-minded attitudes which make the place unpleasant psychically and spiritually). And I still did my week’s work …
Another interesting thing to come out of the week is my work on the
definitions of Coven
and Temple,
yesterday. I wanted a quick, easy example of how ‘Covens’ within a Tradition
are termed ‘Temples’. Well, I got that, but I also found that the Correllian
Tradition, which has had a chequered history in the last couple of decades, has
established a group which is actually working on a ‘Spiritual War for Peace’: http://www.correllian.com/Peace.html.
They have a range of other activities, including prayers for the 22nd
of each month, but I can’t say too much about them as the details are on Facebook,
which I’m still not on.
This is probably an appropriate time to point out that there are also other
meditation activities to work on making the world a better place, for instance,
the ‘Triangles’
network.
Now, in terms of that meditation work:
- the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine has had problems, so more commitment to sorting things out in a way that will lead to a lasting solution (which is NEVER violence) needs to be sent to the political, military and social leaders in (all parts of ) Ukraine and Russia, along with clearing all negative emotional AND MENTAL nonBPLF (i.e., ‘negative’) units which may be affecting the solution –and the Imperialist ambitions of some in Russia needs to be countered – as Pope Francis has stated, we may be seeing a ‘piecemeal World War Three … (see here for some suggestions on what to do); the World Food Programme has also launched missions to eastern Ukraine, I see;
- the world has announced actions to address the evil of QSIL, but nothing has been said – as far as I am aware - about cutting off their access to resupply, and little about fighting their ideology … and there is the issue of the longer term solution to think of;
- the fighting has stopped between Israel and Gaza, but the causes of tension remain;
- there is a flood crisis in Kashmir and Pakistan, continuing concerns around Thailand’s coup, the continuing Ebola crisis, work on making development in the Southern Hemisphere more uniform, Afghanistan continues to attempt its transition to democracy, concerns over human rights in Sri Lanka remain, Syrians are taking advantage of a Facebook campaign around digital security, journalists in Nigeria and Sierra Leone are learning investigative skills, there are water pressures in Central Asia, there are concerns over the possible impact of lack of justice being applied to perpetrators of mass killings encouraging more killings, there are concerns over Tasmania’s anti-protest bill;
- and my nation, Australia, has increased its ‘alert status’. That is probably based on valid concerns, but it is important that any actions undertaken as a result of that be BPLF [1].
Scotland
is also voting on independence. I have no passion one way or the other for
this issue (it’s for those directly
involved – certainly not our PM, Tony Abbott!), but, whatever is decided, may
the decision and the reactions all be BPLF.
In terms of the coming week:
- Monday is International Day of Democracy, a day when the Un will be considering child mortality, climate change, poverty in Asia, and the rights of differently abled people;
- Tuesday is International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer; and
- on Wednesday the UN will release estimates of numbers of refugees, on Thursday it will debate Afghanistan and launch the “Millennium Development Goals Gap Task Force Report 2014”, and on Friday the UN will debate Iraq and hold a special event called Let’s talk Peace to commemorate the International Day of Peace (21st September).
As always, clear the nonBPLF units and strengthen the BPLF for the
above events.
Now some reading links, beginning with an article written in the 1930s
that I quite like the premise of, as it follows a principle I’ve lived my life
by:
- as a female warrior myself, I found this interesting – although there has been other evidence, including official evidence, of this for some time: http://www.tor.com/blogs/2014/09/female-viking-warriors-proof-swords#470354;
- a new web site that looks quite promising: http://polytheist.com/;
- this post raises some concerns in a cogent manner, although I’m not entirely convinced of all of the generic statements made about political tactics – but I do accept much of it, particularly the evidence from social media ‘likes’ and the call to speak out and challenge these problems, and this issue is why I have never been inclined to identify as Asatru or Heathen. If you look at the discussion in the comments, my personal experience, based on having been adopted, is that genes and nurture both POTENTIALLY have an influence, so genetic, personal history (on that, the Patron Deity I have served for longest is Yemaya – and that connection was formed thousands of years ago when I was living on the west coast of Africa) and environmental spiritual legacy can POTENTIALLY have an influence, but in all cases, one has the ability to CHOOSE and decide NOT to go along with an influence that is negative. This is – in part - why the victims of child abuse that I personally know are all such brilliant parents: http://wildhunt.org/2014/09/guest-post-ending-silence-to-end-the-bigotry.html (this article has also given me an idea to help clarify that links are sometimes to mental concepts, not just emotional issues – and they can be both good and bad, so some to clear, some to strengthen);
- interesting – and hopefully reassuring to those who fear Islam: http://www.theage.com.au/national/grand-mufti-ibrahim-abu-mohammad-tells-young-muslims-to-avoid-sheik-youtube-20140913-10fu3q.html;
- some lessons for Australia’s leaders: http://www.theage.com.au/comment/intelligence-is-the-key-only-fools-will-rush-into-iraq-20140901-10asyf.html;
- this article is a good summary of some social changes that have been happening in Australia for several decades now:http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/renting-now-the-norm-for-a-generation-of-families-report-20140819-105xeb.html, and this article shows some of the consequences of those changes: http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/melbourne-cant-afford-new-parks-20140913-10g7fz.html;
- I think this article has been posted previously, but it is good, in my view, and worth re-posting: http://www.dailylife.com.au/life-and-love/parenting-and-families/why-i-dont-call-my-daughter-princess-20140819-3dxw2.html;
- for me, this issue is of little concern, but it does show the downside of private industry involvement in the medical industry: http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/ivf-pioneer-alan-trounson-slams-high-cost-of-procedure-in-australian-clinics-20140822-1075zr.html;
- interesting article: http://www.theage.com.au/environment/animals/if-animals-could-talk-or-do-they-20140824-107ty6.html;
- as with the author, I’m also in favour of boycotts – the karma I create in such situations is around my intention, not whether or not it works. If I don’t even make an effort, I incur negative karma: http://www.theage.com.au/travel/do-travel-boycotts-really-work-20140820-3dzpd.html;
- another downside of private industry being involved in what I consider should be led by government (there are downsides to having services provided by governments only though – particularly inflexibility and slowness to introduce new technologies, so a balance between the two is probably best): http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/customers-slam-energy-companies-heavy-tactics-20140825-1088w9.html;
- a political comment: http://www.dailylife.com.au/news-and-views/dl-opinion/scott-morrisons-treatment-of-gillian-triggs-is-endemic-of-the-governments-wider-problem-with-women-20140824-3e830.html;

- an argument from a surprising source against Facebook’s policy of using real names – which I do NOT support, as it imperils activists and others, amongst other reasons: http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/sep/13/facebook-under-fire-drag-queens-real-name-rule; and
- I sincerely hope voters in Australia remember the message in this article in two years time: http://www.theage.com.au/federal-politics/political-opinion/tony-abbott-joe-hockey-face-fiscal-scrutiny-20140913-10fiez.html; and there is also this: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/sep/12/indigenous-recognition-five-things-standing-in-the-way-australia.

Please see here and my post "The
Death of Wikipedia" for the
reasons I now recommend caution when using Wikipedia. I'm also exploring use of
h2g2, although that doesn't appear to be as
extensive (h2g2 is intended - rather
engagingly - to be the Earth edition of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to
the Galaxy").

I started this blog to cover karmic regression-rescue (see here and here), and it grew ... See here for my group mind project, here and here for my "Pagans for Peace" project (and join me at 9 PM on Sunday, wherever you are, to meditate for peace), and here for my bindrune kit-bag. I also strongly recommend learning how to flame, ground and shield, do alternate nostril breathing, work with colour, and see also here and be flexible.
- One size does NOT fit all.
- Don't be mediocre - seek to excel.
- Gnwmythr's Stropping Strap: Occam's Razor only works if the simplest solution is actually recognised as being the simplest, rather than the one that best fits one's bigotries being labelled 'simplest'.
- Our entire life experience, with all the many wondrous and varied people, places and events in it, is too small a sample for statistical reliability about Life.
- May the world of commerce and business be recognised to be a servant, not a master, of the lives of people.
- Ban the dream interpretation industry!
- A home is for living in, not feeling, becoming or being rich or a “better” class than others.
- Being accustomed to interacting via certain rules makes those rules neither right nor universal.
- Like fire to the physical, emotions to the soul make a good servant, and a bad master.
- Expertise at intimacy and emotional happiness is generally not the same thing as spiritual growth.
- Any person, male or female, who has neither a serious health issue, dependents nor an agreement about study. yet expects their partner to work to support them, is, spiritually speaking, little more than a parasite.
- The means shape the end.
- BPLF restraint of uncooperatives is NOT an opportunity for revenge or getting even - even unconsciously.
- As words can kill, the right to freedom of speech comes with a DUTY to be as well-informed, objective and balanced as you can be.
- My favourite action movie of all time is "Gandhi", although I've recently come across "Invictus" and might put that one in to that category. However, I loathe the stereotypical action movie - and, for similar reasons, I loathe many dramas, which are often emotionally violent, more so in some cases than many war films.
- All of the above - and this blog - could be wrong, or subject to context, perspective, or state of spiritual evolution ...
Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be
stronger [people].
John F. Kennedy (who was
quoting 19th Century Episcopal Bishop Phillips Brooks)
Jesus loves you. Odin wants you to grow up.
We make our decisions. And then our decisions turn around and make us.
F.W. Boreham
Females, get over 'cute'. Get competent. Get trained. Get capable. Get over 'cute'. And those of you who are called Patty and Debby and Suzy, get over that. Because we use those names to infantalise females – we keep females in their 'little girl' state by the names we use for them. Get over it. If you want to be taken seriously, get serious.
Jane Elliott
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good [people] to do nothing.
(based on
writing by) Edmund Burke
The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.
Albert Einstein
We didn't inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we only borrowed it from our children
Antoine De Saint-Exupéry
Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar; it is not haphazard and superficial. It comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Too much and too long, we seem to have surrendered community excellence and community values in the mere accumulation of material things. Our gross national product ... if we should judge America by that -- counts air pollution and cigarette advertising, and ambulances to clear our highways of carnage. ... Yet the gross national product does not allow for the health of our children, the quality of their education, or the joy of their play. It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marriages; the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials. It measures neither our wit nor our courage; neither our wisdom nor our learning; neither our compassion nor our devotion to our country; it measures everything, in short, except that which makes life worthwhile."
Robert F. Kennedy 1968
There are risks and costs to a program of action. But they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction.
John F. Kennedy
If we could change ourselves, the
tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so
does the attitude of the world change towards him. … We need not wait to see
what others do. (Often degraded to “Be
the change you want to see in the world” – see here)
