Post No. 3,164 - The benefits of co-development of ideas, and Deities of Service and Tutelage rather than Matron/Non-Binary/Patron/Tutelary Deity

I am fairly sure I have written somewhere on this blog about the history of people coming up with the same or similar ideas at the same, or nearly the same, time - Darwin and Wallace are the most used example of that, I think.

From a spiritual point of view, a lot of these ideas/concepts are coming from Spirit with a view to improve, as in help to evolve (especially spiritually), this world and the situation of Sentient Life on it. Multiple channels into this world helps to make it more certain the new idea/concept will actually get through, and will be adopted widely enough to become self perpetuating - or, at least, comprehensively tried in a wide range of situations. (Conversely, and perversely, patriarchy, capitalism, neoliberalism, and fascism insist there can be only one, which is amathiac, ego driven, counter-productive, and contrary to the actualities of real life.)

The benefits of multiple channels is why I hope others are working at developing the ideas of this blog - or independently coming up with something similar.

I have adopted the term Deities of Service and Tutelage rather than Matron/Non-Binary/Patron/Tutelary Deity as the new term is both more precise - especially about the fact of some of this being about service to a greater cause, rather than the spiritually immature and bypassing attitude of too many people (especially those who think perusing list of Deity attributes is like perusing a travel brochure or a menu) have that Deities are to serve us

Possible flaws

Where I can, I will try to highlight possible flaws / issues you should consider:

  • there may be flawed logical arguments in the above: to find out more about such flaws and thinking generally, I recommend Brendan  Myers’ free online course “Clear and Present Thinking”
  • I could be wrong - so keep your thinking caps on, and make up your own minds for yourself.

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).

Post No. 869 - Working with The Great Queen

I just finished, a couple of hours ago, re-watching (it's my stand down day at work - I am, incidentally, keeping my eyes open for other work opportunities ... ) that wonderful film, The Spirit of Albion. The first time I watched it, I realised that I had been claimed by The Morríghan, the Great Queen. I dithered about this for a while: serving a Patron Deity is rarely easy, and doing spirit rescue can also be demanding. However, I accepted that role - sort of, but didn't too much about it.

Until now - or rather, a couple of hours ago.

I could feel, as I watched the scenes where The Morríghan was singing about her work, earthbound entities coming in to be cleared (rescued). So, I sighed and go to it - and what a way to work!

Now, I started doing rescue in a Spiritualist group - mental rescue, and as a medium - not deep trance: I was too much of a sticky beak and wanted to know what was going on - which also meant I shared in the experiences of scores of people I channelled for rescue purposes. One of the ways I worked in those groups was as a portal, where, while I was not in trance (i.e., I was not channelling the earthbound entity), the person would ass through me as if I was a portal - which feels a bit like having a shiver go through my back (the sort of sensation there are various sayings about, such as people walking on one's grave - which is quite apt, in my case ... and perhaps in other people's cases as well ... ). After that, I also worked as a shamaness for a while, and loved shape shifting into dragon form.

Tonight ... well, tonight I found I had shape shifted (astrally) into a massive raven - larger than I had ever been as a dragon, and as I flew people who needed to be rescued were drawn into and became part of my feathers. I flew over quite a bit of the world, including Syria.

Now, because of my Spiritualist beginnings, I often associate the shift from earth/etheric to astral as going up: tonight, I felt so heavy that I couldn't go "up", but I could go "sideways", it felt, and I found myself in a lovely place which was like a park, a bit like the Summerlands. It was a portal, and, once there, people were cleared (rescued) through, around and by me - and that included the shiver-through-the-back sensation, which I haven't had in the astral before.

It was very effective, and I am looking forward to doing more work this way with the Great Queen (who is also here to "help" me with personal sovereignty issues).

(Some of the rescue was also because my partner has been helping (catering, counselling and healing) at a funeral today.)

One of the things I found during this session was that a significant number of people who had died while fighting in Syria had died for the same reason that I had died during World War Part Two: they were simply tired of living and fighting in a war. The mechanism / investigation would show otherwise (for instance, the mechanism by which I died was an aircraft landing accident), but the core issue which allowed that possibility to manifest, was simply being tired of war, and fighting, and death, and maybe despair at being unable to fix it.

Probably appropriate that I am now working for The Morríghan, then. I will do some more work on serving Her - beginning here and here, perhaps.

I'm also exploring use of h2g2, although that doesn't appear to be as extensive (h2g2 is intended - rather engagingly - to be the Earth edition of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy").

Post No. 846 - A new “Patron” Deity: The Morríghan

I sometimes read the waffle for newbies about “how to choose a Patron Deity”, and think “it must be nice to do that” ... or to be so arrogant as to think that you do.
My experience of “Patron” Deities is more like Richard Bach’s experience of writing a book, which he described in words to the effect that a book was a massive thing that broke through the wall of his house and said it wouldn’t rest until Mr Bach had set it down in writing, on paper. Patron Deities are, for me, a massive presence that insists I BELONG to them, and they will not back off until I acknowledge being their property.
I serve them, and, as a result, get their help on occasion, not the other way round.
Actually, that’s a little stronger than it really is (and I can accept guides based on finding out who your Patron Deity is – all of mine are continuing relationships begin in past lives of mine … which is quite a long time ago, in the case of Yemaya and Gyhldeptis)Sekhmet tried a few years ago to get me to agree to me working with Her as a Patron Deity, but, because of her blood thirstiness (the legends talk of Her slaughtering people in defence of “Ancient Egypt”  and only being able to be stopped and brought back under control by being made drunk … which is an action – the getting her drunk, I mean - little along the lines of the function of the Summer Court in the Dresden Files. This risk of Sekhmet getting out of control and causing indiscriminate damage is why I’ve not thought of using Her when considering actions to end the wars in the Middle East: there is a need to be careful in such actions, lest one makes things worse), I declined.
At the time I had a friend (hi N), who I’ve subsequently lost contact with, who found that Sekhmet helped her with anger, so I also knew that Sekhmet had Her less bloodthirsty, downright benevolent purposes, and thus could potentially help me to be more rational and objective about - and less damaged by my responses - to injustice: I didn’t think, however, that I could accept the risk / price.
Since then, however, The Morríghan has been “nudging” me, but my perspective on the Great Queen has been warped by some very sloppy writing about her. I saw her as a harbinger of death, someone who actually caused death for no particularly good reason – until last night, when we (my partner, her other partner, and myself) watched the (low budget – it’s not a Hollywood production – thank the Goddesses and Gods!) film “The Spirit of Albion” (only $9 to download – well worth that) and I realised her function around death is more along the lines of the Valkyrie, or one of my other Patron Deities, Yinepu (known to most by His Greek name, Anubis), and has a function more along the lines of the spirit rescue work that I do – including, perhaps, dealing with uncooperatives.
I also came across, in my research last night, the concept that She is connected to sovereignty, particularly personal sovereignty, and I am prepared to admit that that could be of use to me.
In terms of the research, some of the most useful sites – for me – that I’ve found so far are:
I also want to buy – when we’ve got this move (delayed again … SIGH – which is because the builders who have been mucking the landlords about in regard to their new home, which they have to move into before we can move into their current place, have done the wrong thing by them YET AGAIN … ) done - “The Book of The Great Queen: The Many Faces of the Morrigan from Ancient Legends to Modern Devotions”, by Morpheus Ravenna.
As a first step, I’ve made what is technically a blood sacrifice to The Morríghan: a drop of my blood (obtained using my blood test kit – no knives) on a tissue, burned in a candle flame, in acknowledgement of this bond.
(And why is Sekhmet drawing closer?)
I may post more on this – and , in the course of finishing yesterday’s book review, I found fairly complete notes for another book review and two more posts, so may have other posts as well.

  • If your “gut” (your instinct/intuition) is telling you something is wrong, but logic and the available evidence is saying otherwise, the proper conclusion to draw is that you need better, more personally credible evidence. Your “gut” could be wrong, right, or missing the nuances / “shades of grey” . So could the available evidence.
