Post No. 3,543 - Some random thoughts

Because so many weak-willed, amathiac, emotionally incompetent people have ALLOWED themselves to be scammed, the world is in a mess that it will not recover properly from - there will be a new normal for millennia because of the climate crisis, and many authoritarian governments because those weak-willed, amathiac, emotionally incompetent people have ALLOWED themselves to be perverted into becoming bad faith actors - agents of hate, suspicion, paranoia, and me-me-me. 

That is where we are now - and the re-election of the orange horror a second time, with active enablement from the bothsideism plagued, corporate captured "media" of TurtleoIsland and non-existent resistance from the corporate captured, weak-willed, amathiac, emotionally incompetent US Democrats which ALLOWED  Projecto2025 to be enacted to near completion has been the key. 

Am I being too harsh? 

Yes - absolutely, but (a) I am not far off the truth here, (b) I need a rant for the sake of my wellbeing, and (c) the people I am writing about need some shock therapy. 

Quite a a few of those people on TurtleoIsland (not here in Australia as yet - we’re at an early stage and have to go through a worse hell before we wake up) are now having buyer’s regret. That might help resolve the current crisis, but it means - UNLESS THEY CHANGE (develop critical thinking and emotional competence) they will be manipulated during the next similar crisis, and we will have to go through all this again! 

So ... I want everyone in the world to read Tad Stoermer’s book “A Resistance history of the United States” (pub. Steerforth Press [an imprint of Pushkin Press], West Lebanon [NH], 2026, ISBN 9781586424374; Pushkin, Kobo, Penguin Random House, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, Amazon), and then start applying it.  

I want everyone to: 

combine 

generous, caring community-based living 

with 

DEI, human rights, and inclusion (communities can be places of hate and exclusion ... and cults) 

and 

being mature adults about NOT being reliant on others, so that they are not choosing to live a lifestyle that is vulnerable (this is generally done out of outdated conceptions around intimate/romantic relationships). 

I have seen that last point destroy quite a few relationships, and make aid attempts impossible to fulfil - some of that in my personal life. 

Go back to Tad Stoermer’s book, and understand that 

EVERY 

SINGLE 

THING 

YOU 

DO 

IN 

YOUR 

LIFE IS 

EITHER 

RESISTANCE 

OR 

COMPLIANCE  

and then rethink how you are living - in particular, note the lessons as described by Tad Stoermer shown by Ona Judge’s life, and then determine to do better.

This excellent article addresses ways to manage stress associated with financial matters. The principles of managing that stress are also, IMO, applicable to managing stress from other situations which can seem intractable (i.e., other situations which can benefit from the advice of viewing them as a smoke alarm), so keep them in mind for other areas of your life as well. 

I am aware that there are people in the world generally, and my readership in particular, who may not be in a situation to improve their finances - for instance, those who have medical debt in places like the USA, the struggle of the urban poor in developing nations to afford university degrees (and, often, overcome discrimination), those who have experienced natural disasters (as recently was the case in Tibet and Nepal, and occurred in northern NSW and south eastern Qld a few years ago - with some affected people still homeless), and those who live under extreme discrimination - such as some minority groups, particularly those experiencing the effects of centuries of colonisation. 

However, the principles and broad approach of managing a scarce resource (i.e., building skills that develop stability, and a reset - adapted to other situations) also can, and should, be applied to other areas - for instance, building healing energy to help a family member or friend, building community support for a project, or responding to fears about crime.
