Post No. 3,491 - Some (hopefully) interesting reading / viewing / listening - Saturday 18th July, 2026

I recently found the following interesting and/or useful, and am posting them here in case anyone else does as well.

  • “Are You Being Guided?”   https://youtu.be/PwWJfx9wFFY   “Do you have a spirit animal? Are you experiencing synchronicities? Squirrels are associated with resourcefulness, hawks with vision, crows with protection, lizards with self healing”   AND   “How to Work with Guides”   https://youtu.be/6d8dxvnfQPw
  • “Wisconsin Life | Why this Ojibwe jingle dress is considered medicine”   https://youtu.be/Dzq-fWwjHEw   “Ojibwe dancer and designer Aerius Benton-Banai sees the jingle dress as medicine, not just clothing. She found healing through dancing during a difficult time and now creates contemporary dresses inspired by Ojibwe teachings and the natural world, honoring tradition while strengthening community and carrying the practice forward.”
  • “What Happens When Three Channelers Describe the Same Extraterrestrials?”   https://noetic.org/blog/channelers-describe-the-same-extraterrestrials/   AND   “Alien UFO Podcast: The Metaphysics of UFOs READING”   https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/alien-ufo-podcast/id1602263087?i=1000776572538   “This episode I'm talking to Jon Kendall about his book 'The Metaphysics of UFOs: Evidential Case Studies on UAPs, Paranormal Phenomena, and Spiritual Experiences' A systematic examination of the physical and spiritual nature of UFOs and other unexplained phenomena. Are UFOs visitors from our universe or parallel realities? Do they come from the same spiritual realm as our dearly departed? How are they connected to cryptids and paranormal activity? Sharing numerous evidential case studies, Jonathan Kendall explores the seemingly irreconcilable physical and spiritual aspects of UFOs/UAPs. The evidence he presents has implications that could lead to revolutionary breakthroughs in the areas of communications, energy use, medicine, interstellar travel, religion, and the nature of reality. This eye-opening book investigates the connection between UFOs and kindred phenomena like monsters, Men in Black, and poltergeists. It also explores the harrowing world of UFO abductions and why the aftereffects are so similar to those of both near-death experiences and encounters with mystical realms. These case studies shatter conventional views of reality and prove that far more is at stake than answering the question, “Are we alone in the universe?””

On society, governance, humanorights, etc:

  • ““She Said” IS Evidence”   https://youtu.be/KvanHITPNEc   “The Platner and Swalwell allegations exposed a huge myth in our discourse - that testimony “isn’t evidence.””   Good! Finally I’m not the only person pointing this out
  • From https://substack.com/@willowtabithakawamoto/note/c-296461422 :   “Just in case you need the information, the proof yet again, or just want to let people know that biologically that they are indeed wrong.   Rebecca Helm, a biologist and an assistant professor at the University of North Carolina, Asheville US writes:   “Friendly neighborhood biologist here. I see a lot of people are talking about biological sexes and gender right now. Lots of folks make biological sex seem really simple. Well, since it’s so simple, let’s find the biological roots, shall we? Let’s talk about sex...[a thread] ...”

My recent article(s) onoSubStack:

  • “Divide and conquer aka competition for individual performative “glory” (~950 words; ~7 minutes)”   https://musingsofgnwmythr.substack.com/p/divide-and-conquer-aka-competition   “Including how sock puppets (i.e., tools) mistake abuse of others for what they misdescribe as “humour””   Humans have transitioned from a collaborative lifestyle to an elitist power structure, particularly patriarchy, over the past ten millennia. The detrimental impact of patriarchy is evident in environmental destruction, war, and social inequities. A significant method used by elites to exert control is fostering competition among individuals, which promotes a culture of aggression and individualism, impeding societal progress. This competitive mindset distracts from community wellbeing and moral contributions, emphasizing a narrow focus on power rather than critical thinking. Unlike many Indigenous cultures, which celebrate communal success, contemporary workplace practices often prioritize arbitrary profit goals, disregarding their harmful consequences. This dynamic harms those who blend talent with care, while further corrupting the character of those perpetuating these values.   Decent people have played a vital role in recognizing the need for decency and addressing issues of elitist power structures. Altruistic awards, like the Nobel Peace Prize, highlight the importance of such efforts but must be backed by a deeper awareness of social class issues. To effectively combat bigotry and elitism, individuals must act with empathy, patience, and a socially aware perspective. Supporting community excellence and encouraging collaboration without feelings of inadequacy are essential steps in fostering a more caring and communal society.

My recent article(s) onoPatreon (basicomembership isofree):

  • “The Dunning-Kruger type problem of thinking one can "know everyone" (or hire someone who does)”   https://www.patreon.com/KayWhiteCoachingServices/posts/dunning-kruger-5-163947477   In reflecting on professional experiences, I critique a damaging misconception in the engineering field: the fallacy that one can “know everyone” within a profession. This belief, often held by those seeking social status, is particularly problematic in job applications, potentially leading to hiring biases based on comfort rather than merit. I highlight the psychological abuse inherent in ignoring the need for praise in professions, which can waste company resources and hinder productivity. There is also concern that such mindsets foster groupthink and discrimination. Overall, I urge recognition of the expansive networks within the field, emphasising the importance of valuing individuals beyond superficial connections.

Remember: we generallyoneed to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgenderingois an act of activeotransphobia/transmisiaothat puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptoroto prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).

Post No. 3,485 - Some (hopefully) interesting reading / viewing / listening - Saturday 11th July, 2026

I recently found the following interestingoand/orouseful, and amoposting themohere in case anyone else does as well.

  • “In Conversation with Courtney Buterbaugh”   https://youtu.be/vGqnPwFrW0A   “We discovered Courtney Buterbaugh on SubStack a while ago. One morning Mary read me one of her articles and it was outstanding and important.   First one was her reflection on "Disclosure Day." It hit every point perfectly. I could have never expressed it so well.   The other amazing article was about Patriarchy and how woman experiencers have been treated by the media and men in general. We talk about these things but we also explore her experiences with the greys.   In our conversation she brought up something that triggered a forgotten memory of my own that relates directly to Disclosure Day directly. It was a very emotional moment for us both.   Experiencers are finding each other and coming together. This is a moment in the history of this subject like no other. Something is about to happen. Something wonderful.”
  • “Bizarre Rhythm of 2hz That Seems to Be Universal to Life”   https://youtu.be/_65bAl9JsIE   “Hello and welcome! My name is Anton and in this video, we will talk about a strange 2hz rhythm that seems to be common in animals”   Chapter headings are:   “Universal pulse of life?   Other rhythms known to us: Schumann's resonance,   Pulse of life seems to be a bit different - fireflies and crickets,   Other animals - the Taylor Swift constant,   Why 2 Hz? Biophysical explanation,   Testing the hypothesis,   Potential explanation and relations to human language, Conclusions and implications”   This was interesting, I thought - particularly in light ofopastoscepticism on this topic   AND   “Shocking Confirmation That Liquid Water Is Two Separate Substances”   https://youtu.be/U-hsN9VIgEY   “Hello and welcome! My name is Anton and in this video, we will talk about the bizarre states of liquid water.”   Chapter headings are:   “Water is more bizarre than we thought,   Why is liquid water so strange?,   Strange phase transition,   Most recent discovery of 2 states, Why this matters,   Conclusions”
  • from   https://substack.com/@ashelycrouch/note/c-289092295 :   “English is such a possessive language, which I only realized after studying Scottish Gaelic in university.   ...   In Gaelic the sense of ownership over things and people that we see in many Western European languages/cultures does not exist. The land is seen as a living being and words have gender because the world is animate, imbued with spirits and life forces in rivers and mountains.   In Gaelic you don’t say “Mary has a child,” you say “There is a child at Mary,” and this connotation implies that Mary does not possess or own the child, but that they are related.   In much the same way, you wouldn’t say that you “own” land. There is a beautiful concept called Dùthchas, which stresses the interconnectedness of people, land, culture, including an ecological balance among humans and more than human. We “steward” the land that nourishes us.”
  • “Alien UFO Podcast: UFOS: Not For Disclosure”   https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/alien-ufo-podcast/id1602263087?i=1000775624807   “This week I'm talking to Jonathan Caplan about his book 'Not For Disclosure UFOS: The World's Best Kept Secret'. When former US intelligence officer David Grusch testified under oath to Congress in 2023 that the United States possessed crashed non-human craft, global attention shifted overnight. But the full story has been kept from the public. Until now. For over fifty years, Jonathan Caplan KC has gathered extraordinary testimony from scientists, intelligence officers, politicians and military insiders across the world – assembling what may be the most comprehensive body of evidence yet on the existence of UAPs (previously known as UFOs). Now in Not For Disclosure, Caplan reveals the truth behind a reality long denied, uncovering a pattern of secrecy stretching from covert Cold War programmes to alleged presidential briefings and clandestine recovery operations. He also presents significant material relating to President John F. Kennedy, secret meetings involving President Truman and Secretary Forrestal, and previously unpublished documents connected to the mysterious 'Majestic 12' group.  https://www.amazon.com/Not-Disclosure-UFOS-Worlds-Secret-ebook/dp/B0FKYD1YDW

On society, governance, human rights, etc:

  • “From the Caribbean tooHormuz: The GlobaloConflict No One is Seeing”   https://youtu.be/3P0SdlyEjck   “The world’s oceans are witnessing a level of conflict not seen in decades. In this episode of What’s Going on With Shipping?, we analyse the rapid escalation of maritime warfare across three key regions: the Caribbean, the Black Sea, and the Strait of Hormuz. From the U.S. Southern Command’s strikes on [alleged] narco-vessels to Ukraine’s massive drone offensive against the Russian fleet, and the latest Iranian attacks on commercial tankers, we break down why these “out of sight” events have a habit of triggering global crises.”

My recent article(s) on SubStack:

  • Two posts on my blog and a longer than usual article on Patreon left not time or energy fpor contributing to Substack this week.

My recent article(s) on Patreon (basic membership is free):

  • “How to fulfil multiple role requirements in a small company”   https://www.patreon.com/KayWhiteCoachingServices/posts/how-to-fulfil-in-163360950   “A 2024 article titled "How many people to implement an intersectional gender equity plan – at least five people," presented significant insights about the importance of adequate resourcing for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices - it is necessary to have  multiple skilled individuals, which is a challenge for small businesses.   PART A   A comparable concern for small businesses is how professionals, such as engineers, can ensure independent checking of their work when lacking adequate resources (the potential dangers of self-checking include inadequate expertise, susceptibility to groupthink, the perpetuation of errors, and potential inability to devise necessary solutions). Finding solutions for that may require: (1) addressing expertise by maintaining CPD, hiring specialists when necessary, work within the scope of defined expertise, and seek a mentor. (2) The issue of “one person groupthink” needs to be addressed by studying and refining the ability to think, and addressing emotions in thinking processes (particularly in workplaces), and mentoring. (3) Mitigating the problem of self-perpetuating error loops requires:  diverse checking methods;  facilitating good thinking by adequate rest and stress management;  if possible, hiring an expert;  and  effective communication with clients and stakeholders. (4) if you cannot provide the type of solution your client wants, do NOT take the project on. (5) To manage things that are unknown, work carefully with the client to define and agree the scope, comply with professional expectations, and carry adequate insurance as a back up. More importantly, the aspect of uncertainty is one that should be thought about from time to time.   PART B  In a small company with limited turnover, crucial roles like DEI may only be fulfilled by one overworked individual, complicating the ability to switch between tasks. This person must effectively transition focus from administrative duties to addressing essential topics, such as gendered violence strategies, while managing other business goals. Techniques like "pointing and calling" from Japanese rail systems can enhance focus and reduce errors. Staying updated through professional newsletters, joining relevant organizations, and utilizing expert help for major system updates are also recommended to improve communication and efficiency in a constrained environment.”
