Post No. 1,061 - The events in Charlottesville, USA

I will be including the events in the US town of Charlottesville in my news post this week, and have been working on that (although I've only got around to lighting a candle now), but there are a few things I would like to post about it now.

First off, I wish to draw Readers' attention to the excellent posts by John Beckett here and here.

Next, a few points:

• Voldemort II has shown his true stripes, and I consider it will harm him in the long term, but the VP who could take over is, in some ways, even worse; 
• the hate, fear and ignorance of some people has also been shown - people who are happy with the outrageous remarks being made by Voldemort II: those people also have to be addressed - not only for the sake of the world now, but for the sake of those people as human beings and for what they are creating for themselves in the future (although, no matter how compassionate one may feel about it, ultimately they are the ones who solely are choosing to "learn the hard way" and thus are responsible for what they have created for themselves).
  We have been doing a poor job of "selling" decency, compassion and a shared prosperity for decades (and I've been trying to get that message across for the a couple of decades, now), all - or almost all - of us who want a better world, and this is the price (some teachers and parents are included as failures). Others have capitalised on it - people like Voldemort II: they can be addressed in two ways
  (1) directly acting to have the voted out, and
  (2) by weakening the support they receive, by BPM means; 
• I have held concerns about idiots on the left who think violence is acceptable for many years - which goes back to many of the protests at G20 events, some appalling breaches of privacy and decency by such protestors here in Melbourne, and the vehement anger and hate of people protesting against the Vietnam War that I saw when I was a young child.
  Our cause may be just, but the means shape the end, and if we wander from righteous anger to something less compassionate, we inject that flaw into all that we are trying to do.
  Those on the left who, probably out of frustration, possibly some out of macho or other forms of stupidity, resort to violence are injecting that flaw into what others are trying to create - AND THEY ARE GIVING VOLDEMORT II AND OTHERS OF ILK EXACTLY THE AMMUNITION THEY NEED TO FIRE UP MORE RESISTANCE TO CHANGE AND MORE VIOLENCE.
  Stop being politically  naive - no, stop being politically STUPID.

Now, I will go back to clearing nonBPM units, strengthening BPM units (which excludes those who believe in violence), and writing to politicians.
