Lot in this - I've come close to returning crystals that were unwell when I bought them, but they healed themselves. I always make a point of sending healing to wherever any crystal I had came from. Probably helps that, as a kid, I got into the habit of taking "happy rocks" back to where I had found them if they stopped being happy. I emailed my appreciation of this article to the author, and her reply included the following link:

I read, possibly in one of Galina Krasskova's books, a comment that the Norse saw the Sun as female and nurturing because it brought life to their often frozen land, whereas further south the sun is harsher, and thgus the Moon is seen as softer and thus stereotypically female.
