In terms of the seasons of the indigenous people, we are in, and have been in since around the start of April, Waring, the wombat season.
As I write this, we are resting after a hectic period - it was particularly hectic and exhausting for my partner - helping to organise and run a fund-raising event at the spiritualist place we volunteer at. I've never cooked for more than 25 people at a time, but I'm not a fancy cook (basic only ... think I'd make more of a short order cook, whereas my partner is a chef :) Actually, we did have a professional cook - who attends this place from time to time - there to help us on the night, and he did a marvellous job of getting us organised and delivery flowing together), so I was more of a gopher for my partner and the other woman involved. 3 days of prep and 70 meals later ... phew!!! Still, it was a pleasure to work together, and it all, to pinch a word from my partner from something she wrote about this, had a wonderful symbiosis.
From a purely personal point of view, I was asked to do a few channelled energy healings along the way, which is one of the reasons I wanted to start going there in the first place, so that aim is still being met.
It was interesting to talk to one of the guests and one of the trainee Ministers about symbols, and it was also interesting to come across someone there who has an interest in paganism, and who would like to do something more about that. Hmm. I had asked the gods/goddesses / "those in Spirit who help me" to get me more connected with people "of like mind" at work ... guess I hadn't fully twigged that, as far as they're concerned, my work is at the spiritualist place, not my day job :)
Ah well, I'll just have to ask again, being a little more precise :)
And now to finish updating my notes for a crystal workshop I am to run next week ...

[2] Please see my post "The Death of Wikipedia" for the reasons I now recommend caution when using Wikipedia. I'm also exploring use of h2g2, although that doesn't appear to be as extensive (h2g2 is intended - rather engagingly - to be the Earth edition of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy").

- May the world of commerce and business be recognised to be a servant, not a master, of the lives of people.
- A home is for living in, not feeling, becoming or being rich or a “better” class than others.
- Like fire to the physical, emotions to the soul make a good servant, and a bad master.
- Armageddon is alive and well and happening right now: it is a battle between the indolence of "I only ..." and/or "I just ..." and what Bruce Schneier [2] calls "security theatre" on one side, and perspicacity and the understanding that the means shape the end on the other.
- The means shape the end.
- Spiritual love is far more than just an emotion - it is a concept, thoughts, actions and a way of living.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good [people] to do nothing. (based on writing by) EDMUND BURKE

True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar; it is not haphazard and superficial. It comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.
