Post No. 1,022 - The perpetuation of stereotypes

One of the biggest problems I came across in the field of gender rights in engineering was women who thought that, because they felt they could cope with the machismo and abuse of the predominantly male environment in engineering, everything was "fine", and there was no need at all for actions promoting gender equality.
Those female idiots were the ones in greatest need of such action, just as one of the biggest needs facing feminists in the 60s and 70s was consciousness raising.
Appallingly, that need continues - I've just had to point out to a senior female engineer that she should be using draftsperson for all people doing drawing work, which was triggered by her using draftsMAN for a female doing engineering drawings.
What an … well, idiot.
And it continues elsewhere - especially in relationships.
One of the greatest despairs I felt when growing up (in a small country town in Queensland) was girls (they don't deserve to be called "young women") planning ways to, in effect, bludge off whatever husband they could trap - and using sex as a weapon was part of it.
Incredibly, that attitude still seems to continue to this day ...
Nearly a decade ago, I knew someone who was planning on  having a baby PROVIDED she could find a male who would stay largely out of her life, play a role as a parent, and fork over massive amounts of money. As it turned out, she - very fortunately - chose not to go down that path (for non-financial reasons). Even more amazingly, a few years later a male friend of mine actually willingly took on largely such a role.
What people will do for "immortality" ... (joke, Joyce)
More importantly, there are still many women who plan on having a breadwinner going and earning the joint income whilst they stay at home, or do a small, token business at home.
That is unacceptable.
Until all women are actively planning on financially standing on their own two feet, those women who aren’t will be, in effect, immature as human beings. Until all – or at least most, which is a point which are approaching, if not already at - women are actively planning on being mature, self reliant, confident, capable adults, there is no realistic hope of ending the stereotypes and inequality in the house, where women still do most of the unpaid work, let alone more broadly in society.
As Jane Elliott, the famous inventor of the renowned “brown eyes-blue eyes” training method, said: "Females, get over 'cute'. Get competent. Get trained. Get capable. Get over 'cute'. And those of you who are called Patty and Debby and Suzy, get over that. Because we use those names to infantilise females – we keep females in their 'little girl' state by the names we use for them. Get over it. If you want to be taken seriously, get serious."
Women must stop being willing and active accomplices in our subjugation - for the sake of ALL women, of men, and of society as a whole.
Contrary to the assertions of female Quislings, there is nothing caring or feminine about such immature behaviour as perpetuating stereotypes.

I apologise for publishing these posts twice, but Blogger keeps changing my formatting. I can either publish it and then correct it, or save and close the post and correct it when I reopen it, but that leaves an extra copy in my "drafts" folder ...

I am revamping my former website, and getting at least one other underway.
My "blogiography" (list of all posts and guide as to how to best use this site) is here, and my glossary/index is here.

I started this blog to cover karmic regression-rescue (see here and here), and it grew ... See here for my group mind project, here and here for my "Pagans for Peace" project (and join me for a few minutes at some time between 8 and 11 PM on Sunday, wherever you are, to meditate-clear for peace), and here for my bindrune kit-bag. I also strongly recommend learning how to flame, ground and shield, do alternate nostril breathing, work with colour, and see also here and be flexible.
May the best in me, my Higher Self,
and those of the Clear Light who assist me,
help me to keep myself grounded, centred and shielded,
to be Balanced and a Fulcrum of Balance,
a centre of Balanced Positivity and Spiritual Maturity,
with my aura continuously cleansed, cleared and closed,
repelling all negative or unwanted energies,
whilst allowing positive, balancing and healing energies in and through.
The real dividing line is not between Christianity and Islam, Sunni and Shia, East and West. It is between people who believe in coexistence, and those who don’t.
