Post No. 1,202 - Thoughts from the Week

This week the company I work for in my day job started operating out of new offices in my home city's "Docklands" precinct. I find the architecture of the new buildings poor - in fact, the disjointed facades of many of the new buildings leaves me disoriented and close to physically ill, unless I put particular effort into keeping myself shielded and grounded. I'm not surprised it took so long for this area to take off (the Wikipedia article includes "While still incomplete, Docklands developer-centric planning [which probably reflects it origins under a neoliberal state government] has been widely criticised and many Melbourne politicians and media commentators lament its lack of green open space, pedestrian activity, transport links and culture"), and personally consider the architects responsible for the facades should line up - behind those moronic architects who stupidly and irresponsibly removed eaves from Australian homes - for some proper architectural refresher courses.

The interiors of the new buildings, however, are well done - too much flashy glass and steel for my tastes, but they work well, and demonstrate the best of architecture (and yes, I am aware it was probably the same lot of those who did the exteriors). The work spaces we have are too small for comfort and are lacking privacy, and some of the team allocations could be improved, but that won't change until the cost cutting of this approach is demonstrably offset by the loss of productivity, and we're not there yet for most people. (The move was the best I've ever experienced in four decades of working.)

The floors we're in have, I think, been briefly occupied, but there's not been a lot of use: as a result, the energy was mostly OK. I cleared three columns of nonBPM energy near my desk, but there were no residuals or earthbound entities on my floor. In fact, the change of scene has helped many of the highly stressed people release some of the nonBPM energy they had accumulated at our old workplace (I'm doing a little work to see if any of that needs to be dealt with, but there are bigger problems in the world).

This area used to be what is described as a "swamp". That probably means it was a water wonderland with good food opportunities for the original Indigenous people, which the invading whites didn't recognise. Be that as it may, it has had a history that involved slums and similar problems, but I cannot discern any residual energies from those times (which probably lasted half to one century, and we've had a century of busy activity disrupting those energies and mixing them into the unsettled, hyper-active energies associated  with a fair few old port areas.

The area needs open space with greenery, and maybe a moving water feature flowing in a winding pattern through the area to start clearing the energy problems and allow a settling down of energies.

The area adjoins one of Melbourne's main railway stations: Southern Cross station. That was rebuilt in the early 2000s with a wave-shaped roof which did a magnificent job of balancing, harmonising and dispersing energy - some people (who are often  hyper-masculine, in my experience) find the feminine aspects of this unsettling, but I love it, and always have. Docklands needs that sort of architecture (or, as I mentioned, a large water feature and park: I might have to write to my politicians and suggest that [which I'm not expecting to succeed, but it plants a seed for the future that other seeds may accrue to ... not that I'm mixing metaphors or anything]).

Elsewhere in the world, I found that the northern half of Saudi Arabia and the Egyptian-Libyan border had a lot of intense nonBPM energy that needed clearing this week, plus the usual low key stuff throughout the USA. There were also areas in parts of Europe, Central and West Asia, and burma.

Rescues were all of soldiers this week - mostly cooperatives.

Post No. 1,201 - Not Gnwmythr's News

A few links to what may be interesting reading:
  • with a qualification that I am basing this on a talk by the author, not the result of reading it, a book on the "mind magicians" around the USA's 45th President. Now, some of this appears to be just "positive thinking", and most of it appears to be in the neo-nazi (aka "alt right" movement), but it is a mainstream(-ish) sort of book touching on psychic aspects of that Presidency.
    One of the things this brings to mind is the issue of who wants to win most. There's probably a Sun-Tzu quote, but, frankly, I can't be bothered trying to find a fancy phrase for something that is so obvious.
    The results - in the sense of "who wins" - of physical wars depends on a range of factors, including morale / determination: how much more so is the case for a war that is fought in the non-physical realms, including the realms of emotion and thought?
    Persist in your BPM actions - don't give up, and adapt intelligently to the changes made by the nonBPM.
  • And on the nonBPM, another thoughtful article from John Beckett on the role of journalism in religious movements. I concur with this article - in part because of I support trans rights and the cisgendered reactionary people who are actively trying to kill (in my opinion) trans people are both wrong and on the wrong side of history, and in part because some specialised niches of journalism strike me as ineffective - something I particularly see with an email newsletter put out by an industry body in the field my day job is in.
  • another John Beckett article on finding your spiritual path later in life.

Post No. 1,200 - No Psychic Weather Report this week

Owing to a combination of factors (work, family and health), there will be no Psychic Weather Report this week. I will be focusing my efforts this week on South and West Asia, Russia, Europe and North America.

Post No. 1,199 – Gnwmythr’s News Ed. No. 227

As a result of this week’s grieving, this is a very cut back post.
Information and Summary of News with Opinion / Advocacy / Analysis:
Notes:
(1) I am NOT a journalist, and make NO claims to objectivity or freedom from bias.
(2) Furthermore, I do not hold copyright to any of the articles I link to, nor do I claim authorship, except for those links to material I have written for this and my related blogs, and my commentary in these posts. (I try to make sure quotes are shown using quotation marks.)
The purpose of posting these news links is not only to inform; it is also to
     stimulate a connection to:
      - nonBPM units that need to be cleared, and
      - BPM units that need to be strengthened,
     so that you can do the clearing / strengthening that is required.
That only works if you don’t let yourself be overwhelmed by this, so take it in small chunks if you need to, but remember to actively clear and heal! … including yourself.
As part of that, note that there are key uncooperatives to be cleared (rescued): you should ONLY address those that are within your ability – if you get a sense (e.g., through meditation) or are told by your BPM Guides/Higher Self to back off, do so, and content yourself with clearing the smaller nonBPM units within your capability – which will weaken those uncooperatives. More importantly, there are many people doing this sort of work, and others are quite likely to be able to clear the uncooperatives concerned.
That is also one of the many reasons it is OK to take a break or cut back this work if you need – in fact, doing so will help you deal with the next point, which is …
… the energies we use and manifest in our daily lives contribute to the larger soup of energies that influence world events, so it pays to address those as well, to the extent that one can, or to at least stop oneself projecting them into the psychic soup.
The reminders / explanations about Sunday’s meditation-clearing are here;     see also here,     here,     here,     (here and also here and here are interesting),     here, here,     here,     and     this post reminds us to be patient and persistent, like a “speeding oak”.
There are some notes at the end of this post about other options for those who do not like this way of working.
Finally, one of the biggest concerns I have about spirituality in the world now is that the concept of agape type love has been perverted into both a quest for emotional warm fuzzies, and an excuse to avoid doing the hard work of improving oneself and all that one does. On that, it may help to consider the simplification that one cannot love perfectly until one has learned how to perfect. (And one of the concerns I have about those resisting change is that they are so shallow / superficial /stupid that they thing their actions have ONLY the meaning of their [limited] conscious intention … ) See also here and here.
The themes that come to mind for my work this week, after I review all this news, are:
(a)   based on my interpretation of information here and here with Uranus in Aries contributing to fresh and possibly radical starts (until March 2019), and Pluto in Capricorn contributing to a transformation of power and business (and careers) (until some date in the Year 2024), conditions are ripe for a change for the better in world politics;
(b)   there is an enormous need to clear nonBPM energy – the thought forms, unattached energy and scars of the collective unconscious created by millennia of violence, including spirit rescue, and healing the warped views, seemingly “inherent” biases, and other damage created. Also, remember:   -   (1) the counter to fear is genuine  EQ and clear thinking, expressed through calm, de-escalating speech,   -   (2) where problems exist, advocating for BPM responses, and being as BPM as one can be, are constructive solutions,   -   (3) peace is powerful, but it is a process requiring patient, persistent and nuanced nurturing, and a blend of conventional spiritual work, clearing nonBPM units, and physical world activism;
(c)   dealing with the 45th President of the USA requires:
      1. eroding
(i.e., slow, patient and persistent clearing of the little bits one can SAFELY cope with – remember, you are but one of many) the nonBPM influences feeding his arrogance and mind-set, and strengthening the that person’s BPM Guides and giving those BPM Guides whatever BPM help they need to present a BPM alternative to promote a change of heart,
      2. lifting the nonBPM influences from the shoulders of that person’s marginal supporters, allowing them to “come to their senses”,
which may result in them feeling bewilderment/shame, and simultaneously strengthening the BPM influences around them (e.g., their BPM Guides) to counter them backsliding,
      3. physical world activism
(especially education) – e.g., this. As well as doing what one can there, help those who are doing this work (e.g., sending them “positive vibes”) and look for nonBPM blockages that can be cleared (e.g., setting up a BPM vortex above meetings to draw away external nonBPM influences/energies/units, so that the audience can listen as they are, without any obsession/possession);
(d)   the major events this week are:   -   as attraction to violence continues to be inadequately addressed, the risks of mass atrocities in   burma and Syria, and ongoing violent conflicts and crises in Syria, Afghanistan, Mexico, Iraq, Burma, Somalia, South Sudan, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Libya, Sudan (Darfur and South Kordofan), Yemen, Egypt (Sinai), Kurdistan, the Philippines, Ethiopia, Mali, DR Congo, Burundi, Kashmir, Baluchistan (Pakistan and Iran), India (Maoist and other insurgencies), the Maghreb (Africa), Ukraine, and elsewhere;   -   refugee and humanitarian crises;   -   the political madness of regimes with authoritarian leaders – and all who put or keep them there;
It is absolutely VITAL that this psychic / metaphysical / spiritual work be performed non-violently and as is for the Highest Spiritual Good – which is part of being BPM – on all levels and in all ways. Always remember (see here): Do you fight to change things, or to punish? See also here, here, here, here, here, and my comments about “authentic presence” in this post.
News and other matters from this past week follows:
   news items are presented in the following sections (there is overlap, and items may appear more than once):
    -   Permanent and Thematically Arranged News,
    -   Location Based News,
    -   (from a range of) Other Sites (if I have any this week);
   opportunities/good news (in my opinion) are shown in green;
   comments (by me) are shown in purple; and
   WARNING: some of these links may contain triggers around issues such as violence, sexual assault, discrimination, etc.
Permanent Issues and Thematically Arranged News:
  • Permanent issue: may all actual and potential BPM Leaders be kept BPM safe, including keeping them undetectable to the nonBPM and keeping all their Significant Others inviolable against being used for indirect  psychic attack, and may they have all the BPM resources (including an assured income, given the power that nonBPM forces have in the structures of the material world), opportunities and assistance (including so-called “good luck”) for them to be BPM effective at influencing the world’s direction, development and unfoldment, all as is for the Highest Spiritual Good;
  • Permanent issue: may all humans recognise, irrespective of the appearance of difference, the essential shared humanness of other people, the inherent resilience, the dynamic power, the strength of BPM collaboration, and the opportunities of having a diverse, inclusive and welcoming population, and may all people choose fairness, when such decisions are before them;
  • Permanent issue: may all actual and potential BPM  Violence Interrupters (and Interrupters of hate / fear / anger) of be kept BPM safe, and may they have all the BPM opportunities and assistance (so-called “good luck”) for them to be BPM effective at containing and stopping – along the lines of the Cure Violence model - the spread of violence (and hate / fear / anger), all as is for the Highest Spiritual Good;
  • Permanent issue: may all humans choose to live modestly – to forgo outdoing others, or trying to have more than they need - for the sake of an easier, more manageable life, if they cannot do it for the sake of the planet, may we all exercise our human characteristics of reason, self discipline and improvement to overcome the often evil flaw of seeking social status;
  • Permanent issue: may all humans be in better communication with the better parts of their nature – especially those who need that more than other, better people;
  • Matters warranting particular attention:
         this week on reversing the deliberate, well-funded, long-term strategy (from about the 70s) to make self-interest seem normal and a commitment to fairness (such as former US President Franklin D Roosevelt’s Four  Freedoms) an aberration (see also here, here, and here) :     the entirety of this blog and all other spiritual work and physical activism I and many others do;
       on the Rohingya crisis and genocide this week:
       -   Rohingya refugees, who have been denied citizenship in burma for decades despite having that at independence and are now at risk of losing a generation, are using blockchain-type technology to overcome one of their most existential threats: lack of officially-recognised identity;     at least, as a result of being out of bigoted burma, Rohingya refugees can openly celebrate their religious festivals;
       on other matters requiring particular attention:
       -   sadly, this week, I found nothing in the news on Syria,   and   Ukraine;
       -   a woman left terrified by a police officer who sent her address to her violent (convicted) former partner and then joked with the violent ex-partner (unbelievably, he is still a serving officer)has been further intimidated by the state government's attempts to brief a senior counsel in the supposedly “accessible” and “inexpensive” Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal in a case where she is trying to recover the costs of being forced to relocate her family;
       -   a warning that war in space is inevitable because of the potential riches;
       -   in an opinion on the US pay for CEOs, an opinion that the “let the market decide” mantra has inevitably led to dysfunction and inequality – and see also this (some years ago) review of book that inequality is bad for everyone - it makes everyone angrier, rich and poor, and everyone’s mental health declines;     “hyper-partisanship is killing two great democracies”;
       -   concerning measures to “improve security” at schools - which are not all being supported (the building relationships approach sounds good, though, as does approaching the problem in the community);
       -   large technology companies have warned that Australia’s proposed new laws that could compel them to assist Australian spy agencies and police have been criticised, and could make users vulnerable to cyber-attack;     a warning that the algorithms used by governments and corporations are statistically biased against anyone who isn’t average (Australia’s robo-debt debacle and the recent incorrect firing by a computer of a worker are examples);     concerns that “lax” hospital security (how about “inept”)could make the Australian neoliberal government’s online health records vulnerable;    as a social media platform - the destructive power of which the USA’s current First Lady has warned of (on the same day her husband, the USA’s 45th President, used it to attack a critic) - removes hundreds of “fake accounts and pages with ties to Russia and Iran attempting to exert political influence in the US, UK, Middle East and Latin America”, evidence emerges new evidence shows that the infamous Russian “troll factory” – and possibly other Russian outlets - targeted Australian politics on social media between 2015 and 2017;     attribution of a school’s release of students private medical records to “human error” simply emphasises one of the arguments against putting systems online – or doing so with clearly inadequate systems (ever hear of an air gap?);
       -   tensions between NATO and Russia, already worsening as a result of the invasion of Crimea and nerve agent poisonings in the UK, have seen barbs traded as NATO moves some troops to reduce its deficit against Russian forces (which include forces in Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova against the wishes of their government), including allegations over air safety that NATO has denied;     as the US-China trade war continues, China and Russia have met to reduce US dominance (did Chinese pressure lead to Tonga withdrawing its call to write off its crippling debt to China?);     the visit by the USA’s hardline Secretary of State has been cancelled over North Korea’s inadequate actions on denuclearisation;
  • With regard to democracy (which can be measured [as can goodness],     requires  protection of minorities and the vulnerable   -   and remember Gandhi’s question about whether one is fighting to change things, or to punish,     and     note this list of 198 methods of nonviolent action),     freedom,     governance (e.g., here, here, here and here, and see also here)     and     ethics:
    Note: I have a section specifically for the 45th US President below
       analyses, research and commentary this week include:
       -   a widely respected, Nobel peace prize laureate (who appears to have learned from his disastrous involvement with the Rwandan genocide), former UN Secretary-General has passed away;
       of concern in Australia this week:
       -   after uncertainty, questions about one candidate’s eligibility (and one Ministerial decision), the sacrifice of policies with “a broad policy consensus across the community in favour” (interestingly, that led to this suggestion for a speech which could have possibly helped the former incumbent), and survival of an initial challenge, to the broad disgust and/or anger of many Australian voters (who do not understand that (a) a lengthy term for an Australian Prime Minister is actually a rarity, and (b) that we do NOT vote for a leader we vote for our representative and their party and the politics of that party]), concerns of others and the jeopardy of a free trade deal with Indonesia, the continuing “civil war” / guerrilla campaign in Australia’s neoliberal party, one side of which reflects a worldwide narrowing of conservatism towards the far right, has resulted in an evangelical churchgoer with a hardline history as Australia’s next neoliberal Prime Minister;     police want helicopter and riot squad before assisting Council workers to visit a religious group claiming exemption from Australian law who are currently being sued for illegal clearing;     a spokesperson for a sports drug testing agency considers they would do better than a debacle a few years ago, but his words show arrogance and a bias towards assuming players have wilfully and knowingly;     accusations that one state Premier allowing a senior advisers who confessed to trolling people online to walk away with a “golden handshake”;     a controversy contrived by right wing media using an utterly false story – with racist overtones, it seems to me - in Australian sport;
       also of concern this week:
       -   other concerning events have occurred or are developing in:   Afghanistan,   Laos,   Israel;
       in the grey/mixed [good and bad aspects] or neutral area this week:
       -   in my home state, government MPs “were not in contempt of parliament when they authorised timesheets for electorate staff who were actually campaigning — but the party figure behind the ‘red shirts rorts’ scheme acted with deliberate disregard for the code of conduct” (and there remain serious concerns about the behaviour of police conducting raids;
       good news this week includes:
       -   New Zealand has announced a 12-month pay freeze for MPs;     a union “says a controversial levy is ‘currently under review’, less than a month after the ABC reported union members had quit in protest after being pursued by debt collectors;
       and democracy/governance/political matters in my home nation this week:
       on the Royal Commission into banks, and similar matters:
       -   as the banking royal commission hears that superannuation fees boost bank bonuses, a call is made for tougher penalties (including fines and jail) on super trustees, and one state Greens party proposes a bank levy, one bank blames a problem at one of its data centres for customers being locked out of their online and mobile banking accounts (which is always treated casually by the banks, but customers could be arrested at service stations if they cannot pay);     ASIC has recommended reform of “buy now, pay later” laws (the lessons of credit cards appear to have been forgotten);
       -   see also:   here;
       on other matters:
       -   “the potential of new laws to place further strain on the justice system should be considered before they are implemented, the Law Council of Australia has said, citing the costly flow-on effects of the government’s robo-debt changes as an example”;     as farmers in one Australian state fight for acceptance of their “green drought”, assistance is increased to those in another state;     a renewed call for “a strong and independent federal integrity body, after new research showed most Australians believe federal politicians are corrupt” (I disagree with that perception for all politicians, and wonder if dislike of people or policies is an influence?);     a rebuttal of a recent claim that one particular religious group is over-represented in crime statistics (as perpetrators);
  • With regard to the USA (which has some … “unique” characteristics that don’t exist elsewhere in the world)    and their BULLYING 45th President (who is dangerous – see here on actions for US residents [and the useful principles]) this week (I avoid using the 45th US President’s name for psychic reasons – I may use either “the USA’s CEO” or “Voldemort II” as an alias; also, the US Vice-President is at least as bad):
       -   as the former CIA director who lost his security clearance considers taking legal action to prevent others losing their security clearances, the most spectacular news this week has been the vindication of the Muller enquiry’s work by conviction and guilty plea of two close former associates of the USA’s (racist, lying, dishonourable, autocratic, dangerous, obnoxious, and misogynistic) 45th President – one of whom, in an act drawing parallels to Vice President Spiro Agnew just before the Watergate scandal,  implicated the President who, as well as saying he feared a “perjury trap” if interviewed and being rebuked by the Attorney-General for saying the AG should better “control” the enquiry, denied that the hush money was connected to campaign funds (two  others have reportedly given immunity). However, even if the Democrats change the balance of the US Congress in upcoming elections, the pre-Presidency timing of these events may hinder an impeachment, and other actions may be limited – and Voldemort II’s voter base doesn’t care about the scandal;
  • With regard to violent extremism (VE) (aka, terrorism)     (ALL people advocating hate or discrimination in response to violent extremism are actively doing the work of violent extremists. This will be countered, in part, by “Cure Violence”, real and perceived disempowerment and acknowledging the variety in what provides genuine, BPM fulfilment as a counter to fanaticism as a source of meaning, and good old fashioned police work.     I don’t name groups to reduce their publicity):
       -   according to this Wikipedia page, there has been 1 attack in Iraq,  2 attacks in Afghanistan,   and 1 attack in Syria   (out of a total of 12),   including   Nigeria,   Afghanistan (Kabul diplomatic zone),   Indonesia (threat against Australian consulate);
       -   an expert has warned of a growing threat from right-wing extremists in the UK;
  • With regard to refugees (noting the New York Declaration) and people seeking asylum:
       -   a bikies infiltrator who was 'outed by Australian authorities' (giving a warning to other potential informants) has been given Canadian refugee status;     in a growing  disaster that stretches back some years, hundreds of refugees and migrants are feared dead and buried in mass graves on a US Air Force base near the US-Mexico border;     a right wing politician in Italy has refused to allow 177 refugees off a ship until Europe “steps in to help’’;     as child refugee self-harm in Australia’s Nauru Island refugee gulag reaches the stage of being described as a contagion, Australia FINALLY allows a critically ill child to be flown, with the child’s family (the Border Force’s “inhumane and unnecessary” refusal to allow this led to the failure of previous attempts), to receive medical help, and award-winning author says he would not write his popular series about teenagers fighting a foreign invasion today due to his horror at Australia's treatment of asylum seekers;
  • With regard to other human (and other) rights and discrimination     (incidentally, I consider it vital to identify people who are bigots, as they clearly have flaws of observation and thinking – shown by the fact that NOT all people choose to discriminate unless they have been educated otherwise [and there’s this]):
       -   a former nazi prison guard and war crimes suspect has been deported from the USA to German for trial;
       -   opportunities to take action here;
       on HOMOPHOBIA/TRANSPHOBIA     (including heteronormativity and cisgender-normativity) this week (and noting that trans kids are the same as cis kids of the trans kids’ true gender):
       -   a call for patience and respect in talks on trans participation in an Australian sporting body’s code (although aggression isn’t good, the fact is that this body is at least two decades behind the times [on this and other issues]: how do they justify being such backward misogynists?);
       on white supremacist and other forms of RACISM / CULTURAL DISCRIMINATION and Indigenous matters generally this week:
       -   “all past and present Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social justice commissioners have announced a plan for constitutional reform within five years, saying it’s time to stop ‘endlessly discussing’ and commit to ‘action that would allow Indigenous Australians to take a rightful place in our nation’ ”;     the experiences of families where parents and children have different skin colours;     an “African-Australian rapper . . . takes aim at gang stereotypes;     a staggeringly naĂŻve US University “has accepted years of funding from a foundation infamous for promoting research linking race and intelligence — even after other universities and organisations, including white nationalist groups, stopped receiving support from the group”;
       on TRAFFICKING, and CHILDREN’s and associated human rights this week:
       -   outrage at the neochristian Catholic church’s “still  quite  misogynistic but promising” Pope’s inclusion of a call for ordinary Catholics to atone for child abuse when it was the church hierarchy’s desperation to protect itself that led to these horrors in a letter condemning the crime (a significant change of phrasing) of sexual abuse committed by priests — and its cover-up — and demanding accountability;
       -   opportunities to take action   here,   here (which I found difficult – eyesight’s not so good these days,   and there’s only so much zoom),   here (great links to useful information),   here (perhaps not so useful for casual,   infrequent shoppers like me),   here (tremendous to see others acknowledged – and I stunned how many organisations are close by,   here,   here (if you are inclined towards creativity),   here (includes donation request for those who can),   here,   here,   here,   here,   here,   and here,   and,   this week,   here;
       on SEXISM this week (keeping in mind the overblown influence given to testosterone):
       -   as police and football authorities in Italy investigate sexist warnings (threats?) that led to a public outcry and an actress who left social media in response to a barrage of sexist and racist abuse breaks her silence, a male victim speaks out in response to a denial (see also here), an article is published on helping men understand toxic masculinity, and a woman engages in a vindictive act of random vengeance in response to the abuse she experienced;
       -   on sexual harassment/misconduct/violence this week, see:   India;
       on WORKERS’ rights this week:
       -   a generic article on workplace rights;     allegations of another toxic workplace culture;
       on ANIMALS’ rights this week:
       -   “Spanish police have shut down what they believe to be Europe's biggest illegal turtle farm”;
       on PRIVACY, AGED, DIFFERENTLY ABLED, AND OTHER forms of human (and other – e.g., ANIMAL) rights this week:
       -   a woman who sailed around the UK after she became a quadriplegic has passed;     a reminder that being in a wheelchair is NOT what makes one’s life disabled, it is lack of accessibility;
  • With regard to war, violence and hate generally:
       -   an official from Australia’s largest gun group who was suspended (and described as a “disgruntled member” – internal emails undermine claims by the group about safety) after raising safety concerns says it is “only a matter of time” until there is another mass shooting (the incident that triggered was one person’s aggression: I’m not sure that is as significant as other social issues and the imperfect enforcement of gun regulations);     a suburban sporting team has been banned for on-field violence;
       -   other war, violence or hate related matters have occurred or are developing in:   Afghanistan;
  • With regard to spirituality    and/or     psychism generally (including revolutionary love, survival after death, and good religion),     and the occasional nice story     (and to get people to constructively remedy:   fear of being single / asexual / off-grid   or   a rebel / innovator / non-conformist / true to yourself,   belief in management  fads and fashions,   distracting themself aka filling their time,   and   accept beneficent extraterrestrial UFOs):
       -   a reminder that parenting is not always natural, despite love;
  • With regard to natural and other catastrophes:
       -   hundreds of people have died and thousands remain stranded by the worst flooding in an Indian state in a century;     a flash flood in Italy has killed at least eleven people;     another earthquake on the Indonesian island of Lombok has killed more people and done more damage;     long suffering Venezuela has now been hit by a 7.3 “moment” (I mourn the passing of the Richter scale) earthquake that was felt across the Caribbean;    an article on a large tornado in a US state’s bushfires that was “filled with fire”;     a bushfire in Germany is setting off munitions from World War part Two;
  • With regard to overcrowding and “modern” lifestyle issues     (such as conflict  minerals,     environmental harm and child labour in smart phones,     FOMO [which can be overcome] and addiction or unthinking pro-technology bias,     second thoughts,     social media making people miserable or envious,     work and lifestyles causing depression,     being duped by modern mantras and  management  fads,     failing” at being well or failing to consider life options,     AI ethics, corporate misuse of mindfulness as a distraction from working conditions,     embedded emissions,     plane pollution,     bigger, flashier homes/cars– which means actively abusing the environment and society’s cohesion and contributing to financialisation,     the need for agroforestry,     the accursed “new is always good” groupthink of the computer world,     abuse of workers by insisting on busy-ness,     raising Prince Boofheads):
       on climate change and other environmental matters this week:
       -   as the solar boom brings hundreds of jobs to rural areas in one Australian state (and concerns to a town in another state) and another provides help to households to go solar (although batteries would also help), Australia’s superannuation funds and business groups have reacted angrily to the neoliberal government’s decision to dump emissions reduction targets, saying the move had destroyed any sense of policy certainty, and the nation currently effectively has no climate change policy, thanks to the denialist dinosaurs and “outright wrecking that have blighted the past decade” - see also this call for politicians to set aside their blinkered ideologies (our backwardness on this is embarrassing, as well as destructive . . . out of curiosity, if the denialist dinosaurs did get to preserve our economy at the expense of the climate, who do they think those who have acted and/or suffered as a result of climate change would choose to trade with – us, or others who shared their burdens?);     an interesting house construction idea  - building so that it can be easily recycled, although the passive solar design is stupid and going to be a death trap when we have week-long 50°C heatwaves;     concerns that the algae-coral partnership that underpins every coral reef may be breaking down . . . ;     the story of “the world’s longest ship chase” to attempt to catch an illegal fishing vessel;     turning food waste into fertiliser;     illegal dumping of asbestos;
       -   other environmental matters have occurred in:   the Philippines;
       on affordable, sustainable and decent housing and homelessness matters this week    (why are politicians with “investment properties” not admitting a conflict of interest and staying out of housing affordability debates?):
       -   “renting is the only financially responsible decision”;     as affordable renting becomes harder to find, one Australian state has sold millions of dollars of public housing;
       on health and medical this week:
       -   as people die of measles, anti-vaxxers are still spreading false claims;     guilt led to someone who worked for a plastic surgeon leaving;     concerns over antibiotic resistance has led to a call for doctors to promote honey and over-the-counter remedies as the go-to treatment for coughs rather than antibiotics;     lack of or poor sleep contributes to weight gain;     inadequate coverage of dental costs;     meditation helps deal with stress (which we’ve known for decades);     open flue gas heaters will be banned in my home state;     attacks on nursing staff are jeopardising the performance of one hospital;
  • With regard to press aka the media, and freedom of expression     (claims of presenting “both sides” of a debate can be WRONG if the other side is RUBBISH –as is the case on LGBTIQ issues.     Also, media can be unprofessional,     but funding is an issue … ):
       -   the abuse of ABC staff is unacceptable;
  • With regard to education:
       -   research suggests that an allowance is made for the more advantaged social situation of students at private schools in Australia, they’re NOT better at educating than government schools (and the latter don’t inculcate the elitist, discriminatory attitudes of the former);     a call for Australia’s neoliberal government to hold firm against religious schools’ demands for more money “to avoid giving ammunition to state governments eager for an excuse to back out of Gonski 2.0 commitments”;
  • With regard to crime, judicial matters and policing     (noting that an uncle of mine resigned when corruption was not comprehensively cleaned out of the police force he served in, I also have high expectations of police [to match their powers],     and    consider all violence, abuse of power and failure to understand the impacts of their actions [e.g., see here and here] by police – who are under incredible pressure –is, nevertheless, undermining and weakening all police and what they are trying to achieve):
       -   two terrible incidents where people tried to kill police officers;     Thailand police have seized a $61 million haul of drugs;    a police officer has been fined for punching a teenager and jailed for attempting to cover it up.
Location based News:
  • With regard to South and Central America:
       -   as Venezuela came to a standstill in response to its newly introduced currency, 7% of the population has fled the nation, with the number entering Brazil rising despite recent attacks on border camps;
  • With regard to mainland China (may her growing middle class bring a love of peace and freedom),     East and South East Asia     and     the Pacific     (and noting the risks of atrocities in North Korea and Burma):
       -   about 90 families from North and South Korea have held their first reunion events in three years for relatives wrenched apart by the Korean War for more than six decades;
       on increasingly totalitarian mainland China, and also Hong Kong, the DPRK (North Korea) and South Korea (which need to accept their partition – for now – and sign a peace treaty), Taiwan, and the free but invaded and occupied nation of Tibet:
       -   the “surprising” architecture in North Korea;
       elsewhere in Asia:
       -   a kindergarten has been (quite rightly) criticised after parading children in niqabs and carrying AK47s on Indonesian Independence Day;     a Buddhist woman who complained about the noise from a nearby mosque has been jailed (so much for Pancasila?);
       -   despite the recent disastrous dam collapse leading to a promise to stop work on further dam projects in Laos, work is continuing;
       -   Malaysia’s Prime Minister says “he believes China will sympathise with his country's ‘internal fiscal problems’ as he seeks to renegotiate, or possibly cancel, more than $27 billion in Chinese-funded projects;     concerns (e.g., use in a “dirty bomb”) over the theft of an industrial radiography object;
       and in the Pacific:
       -   “China, India and the US [are using] healthcare aid to win influence in the Pacific”;
  • With regard to Russia (which is currently supporting an – in my opinion, based on R2P principles - illegitimate regime in Syria),     Russian influenced nations     and     eastern Europe,     Central Asia,     and responses to same (see also elsewhere):
       Russia:
       -   71% Russians believe their President’s “denial” (keeping in mind that he has also openly admitted to intervention after meeting with US President) of interference in US Presidential elections - see also here and here;
  • With regard to the conflict in Afghanistan (noting that Afghanistan was once a peaceful and modern society, even allowing women in miniskirts, before the Russian invasion – see here):
       -   Two wars are convulsing Afghanistan, the war of blood and guts, and the war of truth and lies. Both have been amassing casualties at a remarkable rate recently”;     the misogynistic  violent extremists who have been fighting for 17 years in Afghanistan will travel to Russia for peace talks;
  • With regard to South Asia (aka the Indian sub-continent), The Hindu and other sources have:
       on India:
       -   India is using cricket to “challenge gender stereotypes and promote equality between the sexes”;
       on Pakistan:
       -   former cricket star Imran Khan has been confirmed as Pakistan’s new Prime Minister;
  • With regard to West Asia (aka “the Middle East”) and Northern Africa, the Middle East Eye, the Times of Israel, and other sources have:
       on Israel and Palestine:
       -   the USA has been accused of blackmail as a result of its aid cut to Palestinians;     Israel sees “no urgency” to advance the US peace plan;     189 have been wounded in this week’s violence;     the Palestinian Authority is reported to have thwarted a planned bomb attack against Israeli troops;     during World War part Two, the UK ignored rising anti-Semitism on the home front and blamed the victims;     “the latest report of the Shin Bet security service questioning travellers about their politics at the border”;     more  criticism of Israel’s illegal settlement programme;     police have arrested seven people after weapons were fired at a party in a village in northern Israel;
       on the conflict and the world’s biggest humanitarian crisis in Yemen:
       -   the current status of the quest for peace in Yemen;
       elsewhere in the region:
       -   the European Union decision to release an 18 million euro payment to Iran to keep the anti-nuclear accord alive has been criticised by the USA –which has withdrawn from the deal and is trying to force others to do likewise - and Israel.
General Comments/Information
(Dear Reader, please remember, I expect you to THINK when reading this blog, and I reserve the right to occasionally sneak in something to test that)
Many others are very capably doing this type of work – for instance, the Lucis Trust's Triangles network (which has been running for many decades);     the Correllian Tradition's 'Spiritual War for Peace' (see also here, here, and here), the Hope, Peace, Love and Prosperity Spell (also from the Correllian Tradition, in around 2007 or 2008),     the Healing Minute started by the late, great Harry Edwards (running for decades);     the “CE 5  ET contact” movement started by Dr Steven M Greer, which is the one which appears to me to most capitalise on the teachings of “The Nine”,     the “Network of Light”  meditations;     the 1 Million Meditators movement,     and     also see here, here and here – even commercial organisations (for instance, see here), online groups (e.g. here and here – which I do not know the quality of) and even an app.
Thus, if you don't like what I am suggesting here, but want to be of service, there are many other opportunities for you – including secular opportunities: e.g., see here, here and here.
Again, activism in the physical world is also required - see here, here and here, here, and, of course, here.
(I specifically have a role for (absent) healers on Saturdays [see Psychic Weather Report]. Anyone who wishes to be protector has a role every day :). At all times, on all levels and in ways, BOTH must ALWAYS be BPM in the way they perform such roles.)
If I am ever late getting my Psychic Weather Report up any week, there is a default plan.
I apologise for publishing these posts twice, but Blogger keeps changing my formatting.
