Post No. 2,224 - Reading and other links

Im going to begin this with a reminder that the work of this blog is:

and

  • BPM  strengthening of BPM units - some nonphysical, some incarnated people . . . and one of, if not the, best ways that is done is strengthening people's connection with their own Higher Self (which is possibly not what they interpret as their conscience).

Also:

Black Lives Matter! Be Anti-Racist, Anti-Sexist, and Actively Inclusive in ALL Areas.
The Climate Crisis is real, urgent and
existential!

The Pandemic is Real, and Vaccinations save lives. Stay safe - wash your hands, practice social distancing and wear a face mask in public, and follow informed medical advice - and be considerate towards those at risk or in situations of vulnerability (including economic) while the COVID-19 pandemic is a problem.

Having made those points, here are some links that you, Dear Reader, may find of interest or value:

  • Humans Are More Likely To Attack An Extraterrestrial Civilization Than The Other Way Around Says Scientist (there’s a 0.0014% chance of Earth being invaded by a technologically advanced civilization ... a civilization like humanity would be more likely to invade than a Type-1 civilization, but they would not have the means to travel to an extraterrestrial planet [this is also consistent with work such as that done by Steven Pinker ad others, showing that, for instance, tribal conflicts are low level but frequent, and thus cost more lives as a percentage of population] )
  • crying while watching movies may be a sign of emotional strength
  • a student of conflict resolution has, in a thought experiment, applied human history to an estimate of the number (over 15,000) of extraterrestrial civilisations, and estimated that four could be inclined to invade us, with probably only one of those able to travel to us. The author noted that as societies advance, they are less likely to engage in conflict
  • a campaign against inhuman self-checkouts (mind you, there has been plenty of abusive check out workers, which is part of why some people like self check outs)
  • an appeal to listen better
  • an article examining that whereas, in the West, Plato’s Allegory of the Cave shaped the approach to illusion/reality, in China the ‘Fable of a Frog in the Well’ shaped the approach to limitedness/limitlessness;
  • slow down, it’s what your brain has been begging for (article covers need for the executive control network to be switched off at times to allow the default mode network to provide a mental break)
  • on the subtlety of aphorisms;
  • this weeks afterlife report

Given an alleged (anonymous) complaint (most probably Blogger's algorithms rather than a complainant - and possibly intended to stamp out things like mirroring but they were too cowardly and unethical to be honest about that) I apparently cannot re-post my human rights (and news) information for this week here. My human rights post for this week is therefore at https://politicalmusingsofkayleen.blogspot.com/2022/06/some-human-rights-and-other-news-links.html.
