Post No. 2,226 - Reading and other links

Im going to begin this with a reminder that the work of this blog is:

and

  • BPM  strengthening of BPM units - some nonphysical, some incarnated people . . . and one of, if not the, best ways that is done is strengthening people's connection with their own Higher Self (which is possibly not what they interpret as their conscience).

Also:

Black Lives Matter! Be Anti-Racist, Anti-Sexist, and Actively Inclusive in ALL Areas.
The Climate Crisis is real, urgent and
existential!

The Pandemic is Real, and Vaccinations save lives. Stay safe - wash your hands, practice social distancing and wear a face mask in public, and follow informed medical advice - and be considerate towards those at risk or in situations of vulnerability (including economic) while the COVID-19 pandemic is a problem.

Having made those points, here are some links that you, Dear Reader, may find of interest or value:

  • a well-written, soundly thought out, but disturbing (because it may be correct) article about the worlds shift from life drive to death drive;
  • a article on human capital flight from the Unexceptional States of America;
  • just because AI can perform human-like behaviours doesn’t mean it can think or understand like humans
  • Ive written some thoughts on the corporate world here and here, and on professionalism here - and see also here
  • one of the things Ive written about is my concerns about aspects of the UFO/UAP/ET field - specifically, racism and transphobia. I cant find the articles I want, but there are some concerns/relevant comments here, here, here, here, and here, for example.
    Now I have come across this article, which emphasises the concerns - a little too much, perhaps, but it is worth a read and think - including the comments

  • no one across western modernity is ever allowed to relax
  • what’s taking the biggest toll on our mental health? Disconnection, financial stress and long waits for care
  • a story on a quiet man;
  • some suggestions on being calm - some good, some neutral, some Im not so impressed with. I like the suggestion to conscientiously move more slowly - Ive found over the years that that helps me;
  • the spirituality industry is just comforting privileged people
  • why “I am not my thoughts” is a form of mental trickery
  • responses here and here to clueless criticisms of helping others;
  • how to practice Wu Wei — the art of effortless action
  • animals DO dream;
  • some sloppy thinking and misunderstanding around scientific evidence in this neochristian-biased but otherwise reasonable essay.
    It is not possible to
    demonstrate on demand evolution, but it is accepted as proven. Why? Because of the overwhelming weight of evidence. Good evidence is great, but evidence does not all look like the sort of evidence Newtonian physicists look for and use - the social sciences accumulate good evidence without it being capable of being demonstrated on demand.
    The call for evidence in this essay is excellent, but it must be understood that the evidence must be good -
    sound, from a scientific point of view. Testimony is, indeed, potentially good evidence - as psychology attests. That does NOT mean it needs to be obtained adversarially, but it must be obtained in an open-minded way, without leading, and without jumping to conclusions as too many of us who know the truth of survival after death etc can do.
    In my opinion, Victor Zammit's work remains the best on the topic of evidence in favour of survival after death;
  • this weeks afterlife report by the Zammits

In preparation for tomorrows psychic weather report, I do a weekly summary of news links - every one of which is an opportunity to do the work of this blog, which I outlined at the start of this post. That can be accessed at:   https://politicalmusingsofkayleen.blogspot.com/2022/06/some-human-rights-and-other-news-links_11.html.

I generally do the PWRs on Sunday in Australia, with an aim to get it online by 8pm on the Australian east coast - which, in the southern winter, is midday in Geneva, 11am in London, 6am in New York, and 3am on the US west coast.
