One of the themes I have is that we do not have to rely solely on
external sources of energy and influence, such as Goddesses and Gods and
non-gender specific (NGS, to coin another TLA [three letter acronym]) Deities
and BPLF Guides, when doing magickal workings: we can also call on our own
inner resources – ourself, our parallels, and our Higher Self. Of course, that
may mean we have to work at developing our attributes – and it also means
taking on that portion of responsibility which is commensurate
with doing that.
Scared?
Well, I’m afraid that’s just part of growing up spiritually. It doesn’t
mean we try to do it all ourself (that is also a sign of immaturity), but it
does mean we try to do more than most people do, as - in my experience – most people are basically
bludging off the attributes of the Goddesses, Gods, NGS Deities and BPLF Guides.
Now, there are a couple more points I would like to make.
Firstly, it is possible to do shadow work in one’s dream state – i.e.,
while astral travelling during sleep state. This will be more effective if you
try to enhance your dream recall, but will be even more effective if you go to
sleep with the determination to do BPLF work in your sleep state, including
developing your adherence to BPLF Principles to the point where they are
ingrained and automatic – not just in your conscious, but also your
unconscious/subconscious, parallels and Higher Self: all your levels
of consciousness. (See here, also.)
Lastly, as a BPLF worker, it is important to be able to manage oneself,
and make sure that if one is, for instance, annoyed, angry or upset, that one
doesn’t project out negative energies that could
(or, more likely, will, given the lack of grounding and shielding in this world
at the present time) affect other people. Closing one’s aura and flaming
are examples of techniques that can be used in the short term, although in the
medium term shadow work and possibly things like counselling may be necessary,
and in the long term one may have to change one’s lifestyle (e.g., move to another nation, move out of the city, move out of small
country towns [possibly into the city :) ], change one’s social circle, change
one’s job, change one’s lifestyle, fix - or end - problem relationships or find
a relationship if being single is unhealthy for you, change religion, study, etc).
In my case, I’ve recently found that a protective technique I developed some
time ago (visualising
a sequence of pentagrams travelling through a space or person) can be
used by me on me, and will have the effect of clearing negative energy (partly
by dispersing it – so be careful of what and who is around you) fairly quickly.
I got the idea to try this after reading – I think in one of Katherine
Kerr’s Deverry books - of using a flaming pentagram to dispel a mood, and have
found it an easy and effective technique to use when I am driving in peak hour
traffic.
PS - I've just had some interesting dreams: dreams where I was able to manifest some of the powers that Naropa wrote of - or, perhaps, modern equivalents thereof. The main one for me was being able to consciously and deliberately shape shift, and I had the impression that I could do so either as a reward for having written the above post, or a new affirmation I have begun using to deal with a bit of self sabotage on my behalf, or possibly both. It also occurred to me that I don't recall Naropa writing about shapeshifting (he may have: I just don't recall it), so maybe we need a new set of powers to have in the dream world. If there is such a debate, I'm going to put - and pardon me the toilet humour, but there is actually a purpose to this levity - dreaming of being able to go to the toilet in a dream without consequences in the physical at top of the list :)

I now recommend caution when using Wikipedia. I'm also exploring use of h2g2,
although that doesn't appear to be as extensive (h2g2 is intended - rather
engagingly - to be the Earth edition of

- neither eloquence nor inarticulateness inherently indicates correctness, but, as words can kill, the right to freedom of speech comes with a DUTY to be as well-informed, objective and balanced as you can be.
- Gnwmythr's Stropping Strap: Occam's Razor only works if the simplest solution is actually recognised as being the simplest, rather than the one that best fits one's bigotries being labelled 'simplest'.
- I mourn the desecration of the term 'Light Worker' by commercial interests, and the warping of the word 'Light' away from 'Clear Light' by the "(Fluffy) White Lighters".
- Presuming that everyone has, or wants, a smartphone is discriminatory, unspiritual, and downright stupid.
- Our entire life experience, with all the many wondrous and varied people, places and events in it, is too small a sample for statistical reliability about Life.
- May the world of commerce and business be recognised to be a servant, not a master, of the lives of people.
- Being accustomed to interacting via certain rules makes those rules neither right nor universal.
- Like fire to the physical, emotions to the soul make a good servant, and a bad master.
- The means shape the end.
- My favourite action movie of all time is "Gandhi", although I've recently come across "Invictus" and might put that one in to that category. However, I loathe the stereotypical action movie - and, for similar reasons, I loathe many dramas, which are often emotionally violent, more so in some cases than many war films.
- All of the above - and this blog - could be wrong, or subject to context, perspective, or state of spiritual evolution ...
Human dignity is
the inherently cumulative holistic
combination of human rights, wellbeing and potential, and all actions or
interaction which promote, realise or facilitate same. The converse also
applies: whatever degrades, diminishes or robs humans of dignity, is inherently
undignified.

The “purpose” of spiritual evolution is not
the attainment of “spiritual perfection” - not in the sense of not having to
evolve further, at any rate, since there is no such thing. We need to evolve in
order to grow - but we can take rest breaks (hopefully well earned :) ) along the way. No, the “purpose” of evolution is,
rather, to perfect our ability to learn, and thus grow.

Females, get over 'cute'. Get competent.
Get trained. Get capable. Get over 'cute'. And those of you who are called Patty
and Debby and Suzy, get over that. Because we use those names to infantalise
females – we keep females in their 'little girl' state by the names we use for
them. Get over it. If you want to be taken seriously, get serious.

comfortable inaction.
