Post No. 689 - On being a lift goddess

OK, so before I get started on this, Dear Reader, make sure you understand what “tongue in cheek” means –and I will state that I am NOT a Goddess of any form, despite my alleged – by others – super power.

So, what super power? Well, just under a decade ago, I had the misfortune of working in the city (right in the middle of the four million leaky auras I have mentioned a few times), on around the 48th floor, I think it was, and thus we had to use the lifts a fair bit.

One day, we were waiting for the lifts and, when it arrived, as I turned round to go into the lift and one of my colleagues walked over to where I was so he could do the same, he asked “how do you do that?”
     “What?”
“Stand where the next lift is going to arrive.” (we had six lifts)
     “I don’t”
     “Yes you do.”

After a few days, I found my colleague had made his case. The clincher was probably the day he was standing beside a lift when it arrived *. I pointed and said “ha!” – just as the lift behind me also arrived.

So … my superpower is predicting the next lift to arrive. Granted, it’s not much of a superpower – it’s not like a world-changing superpower such as, say, being able to get young children to go quietly and happily to bed when they should, but … ‘tis mine :)

Anyway, I now work in a much shorter building: we’ve just moved, as I think I mentioned in a recent post, from the 6th to the 8th floor (yes, I am coping with the reduced oxygen of the higher altitude, thank you). There are still lifts, but not such an elaborate lift well. Nevertheless, I notice that I was looking at the doors of the next lift to arrive after I pressed the lift-call button, and … I wondered.

After several days’ observation, yes, I can say I still have my superpower: I now often just “happen” to be looking at the next lift when it arrives **.

So what? Well, this is something I can use to train my sensitivity. By paying attention, I can learn which sensations are accurate, which are questionable or wrong, and how that changes. For instance, it is very clear from doing this exercise that if I am physically tired, I am psychically inaccurate.

One of the things about learning to be psychic, by the way, is that one is, in a sense, opening oneself to a whole world – it’s like getting a radio for the first time, and learning there is a whole world of radio stations out there. Or, perhaps, going on the Internet for the first time. In all three cases – developing psychism, listening to radio stations and surfing the ‘net, one needs to learn what is accurate, or accurate under certain conditions (time being one of those conditions, along with tiredness, quality of psychic protection, etc), or just utter garbage – static, whether that is radio, ‘net or psychic.

Why does it go from reasonably OK when done subconsciously, to so problematic when learning to work with this consciously? Well, that it just part of growing up psychically. When it is subconscious, our Higher Self, BPLF Guides, etc protect and filter that for us. As soon as we say “hey, I’m a big kid, now, I can do that”, they stand back, to a point, and you have to learn what they know, and develop the skills they have.

Oh – one final point. NEVER use gambling for this: that is a situation where karmic limits and the psychic attacks of the many other people who also want to have a win will drown out anything you pick up psychically. Seriously, people I have seen four people pretty much destroy their lives because they thought they were in control of what happened when they gambled. If that doesn’t stop you, consider the fact that, here at least, if you’re winning too much you can be ordered to leave a casino. You’ll never “beat the bank”.

 * I seem to be a bit of a catalyst for others to develop their psychic powers. This seems to also extend to inanimate things, to some extent, as the layer of memory foam on our bed is currently “remembering” the formation of the Himalayas …
** I have often wondered if there is a small element of precognition in my reflexes and what was interpreted as my good ‘peripheral vision’ when I was sailing competitively – and perhaps that is the case for some other successful sports people?

[2] Please see here, here and my post "The Death of Wikipedia" for the reasons I now recommend caution when using Wikipedia. I'm also exploring use of h2g2, although that doesn't appear to be as extensive (h2g2 is intended - rather engagingly - to be the Earth edition of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy").

I started this blog to cover karmic regression-rescue (see here and here), and it grew ... See here for my group mind project, here and here for my "Pagans for Peace" project (and join me for a few minutes at some time between 8 and 11 PM on Sunday, wherever you are, to meditate-clear for peace), and here for my bindrune kit-bag. I also strongly recommend learning how to flame, ground and shield, do alternate nostril breathing, work with colour, and see also here and be flexible.

I am a Walker upon the Path of Balanced Positivity, seeking Spiritual Maturity.

  • Neither eloquence nor inarticulateness inherently indicates correctness, but, as words can kill, the right to freedom of speech comes with a DUTY to be as well-informed, objective and balanced as you can be.
  • Gnwmythr's Stropping Strap: Occam's Razor only works if  the simplest solution is actually recognised as being the simplest, rather than the one that best fits one's bigotries being labelled 'simplest'.
  • I mourn the desecration of the term 'Light Worker' by commercial interests, and the warping of the word 'Light' away from 'Clear Light' by the "(Fluffy) White Lighters".
  • Presuming that everyone has, or wants, a smartphone is discriminatory, unspiritual, and downright stupid.
  • Obsessive love may be a cover up of guilt.
  • Proxy embarrassment is both a form of control, and an internal barrier to truth, honesty and perspicacity.
  • Our entire life experience, with all the many wondrous and varied people, places and events in it, is too small a sample for statistical reliability about Life.
  • Notwithstanding the greatness of exploring the world and humanity, the greatest exploration is of mind, spirit and Soul.
  • May the world of commerce and business be recognised to be a servant, not a master, of the lives of people.
  • Life is not a struggle for status.
  • Being accustomed to interacting via certain rules makes those rules neither right nor universal.
  • Like fire to the physical, emotions to the soul make a good servant, and a bad master.
  • The means shape the end.
  • My favourite action movie of all time is "Gandhi", although I've recently come across "Invictus" and might put that one in to that category. However, I loathe the stereotypical action movie - and, for similar reasons, I loathe many dramas, which are often emotionally violent, more so in some cases than many war films.
  • All of the above - and this blog - could be wrong, or subject to context, perspective, or state of spiritual evolution ... and blogging has been described as graffiti with punctuation :)

Human dignity is the inherently cumulative holistic combination of human rights, wellbeing and potential, and all actions or interaction which promote, realise or facilitate same. The converse also applies: whatever degrades, diminishes or robs humans of dignity, is inherently undignified.

The “purpose” of spiritual evolution is not the attainment of “spiritual perfection” - not in the sense of not having to evolve further, at any rate, since there is no such thing. We need to evolve in order to grow - but we can take rest breaks (hopefully well earned :) ) along the way. No, the “purpose” of evolution is, rather, to perfect our ability to learn, and thus grow.

Females, get over 'cute'. Get competent. Get trained. Get capable. Get over 'cute'. And those of you who are called Patty and Debby and Suzy, get over that. Because we use those names to infantalise females – we keep females in their 'little girl' state by the names we use for them. Get over it. If you want to be taken seriously, get serious.

There are risks and costs to a program of action. But they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction.
