Post No. 1,223 – Gnwmythr’s News Ed. No. 234

For the sake of my health, until I retire or change to an easier day job , I have cut back these posts.
This post is a little shorter than usual owing to family events this week.
Information and Summary of News with Opinion / Advocacy / Analysis:
Notes:
(1) I am NOT a journalist, and make NO claims to objectivity or freedom from bias.
(2) Furthermore, I do not hold copyright to any of the articles I link to, nor do I claim authorship, except for those links to material I have written for this and my related blogs, and my commentary in these posts. (I try to make sure quotes are shown using quotation marks.)
The purpose of posting these news links is not only to inform; it is also to
     stimulate a connection to:
      - nonBPM units that need to be cleared, and
      - BPM units that need to be strengthened,
     so that you can do the clearing / strengthening that is required.
That only works if you don’t let yourself be overwhelmed by this, so take it in small chunks if you need to, but remember to actively clear and heal! … including yourself.
As part of that, note that there are key uncooperatives to be cleared (rescued): you should ONLY address those that are within your ability – if you get a sense (e.g., through meditation) or are told by your BPM Guides/Higher Self to back off, do so, and content yourself with clearing the smaller nonBPM units within your capability – which will weaken those uncooperatives. More importantly, there are many people doing this sort of work, and others are quite likely to be able to clear the uncooperatives concerned.
That is also one of the many reasons it is OK to take a break or cut back this work if you need – in fact, doing so will help you deal with the next point, which is …
… the energies we use and manifest in our daily lives contribute to the larger soup of energies that influence world events, so it pays to address those as well, to the extent that one can, or to at least stop oneself projecting them into the psychic soup.
The reminders / explanations about Sunday’s meditation-clearing are here;     see also here,     here,     here,     (here and also here and here are interesting),     here, here,     here,     and     this post reminds us to be patient and persistent, like a “speeding oak”.
There are some notes at the end of this post about other options for those who do not like this way of working.
Finally, one of the biggest concerns I have about spirituality in the world now is that the concept of agape type love has been perverted into both a quest for emotional warm fuzzies, and an excuse to avoid doing the hard work of improving oneself and all that one does. On that, it may help to consider the simplification that one cannot love perfectly until one has learned how to perfect. (And one of the concerns I have about those resisting change is that they are so shallow / superficial /stupid that they thing their actions have ONLY the meaning of their [limited] conscious intention … ) See also here and here.
The themes that come to mind for my work this week, after I review all this news, are:
(a)   based on my interpretation of information here and here with Uranus in Aries contributing to fresh and possibly radical starts (until March 2019), and Pluto in Capricorn contributing to a transformation of power and business (and careers) (until some date in the Year 2024), conditions are ripe for a change for the better in world politics;
(b)   there is an enormous need to clear nonBPM energy – the thought forms, unattached energy and scars of the collective unconscious created by millennia of violence, including spirit rescue, and healing the warped views, seemingly “inherent” biases, and other damage created. Also, remember:   -   (1) the counter to fear is genuine  EQ and clear thinking, expressed through calm, de-escalating speech,   -   (2) where problems exist, advocating for BPM responses, and being as BPM as one can be, are constructive solutions,   -   (3) peace is powerful, but it is a process requiring patient, persistent and nuanced nurturing, and a blend of conventional spiritual work, clearing nonBPM units, and physical world activism;
(c)   dealing with the 45th “President” (i.e., CEO) of the USA requires:
      1. eroding
(i.e., slow, patient and persistent clearing of the little bits one can SAFELY cope with – remember, you are but one of many) the nonBPM influences feeding his arrogance and mind-set, and strengthening the that person’s BPM Guides and giving those BPM Guides whatever BPM help they need to present a BPM alternative to promote a change of heart,
      2. lifting the nonBPM influences from the shoulders of that person’s marginal supporters, allowing them to “come to their senses”,
which may result in them feeling bewilderment/shame, and simultaneously strengthening the BPM influences around them (e.g., their BPM Guides) to counter them backsliding,
      3. physical world activism
(especially education) – e.g., this. As well as doing what one can there, help those who are doing this work (e.g., sending them “positive vibes”) and look for nonBPM blockages that can be cleared (e.g., setting up a BPM vortex above meetings to draw away external nonBPM influences/energies/units, so that the audience can listen as they are, without any obsession/possession);
(d)   the major events this week are:   -   as attraction to violence continues to be inadequately addressed and the search for humans rights abusers continues, the risks of mass atrocities in   Afghanistan, Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and ongoing violent conflicts and crises in Syria, Afghanistan, Mexico, Iraq, Burma, Somalia, South Sudan, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Libya, Sudan (Darfur and South Kordofan), Yemen, Egypt (Sinai), Kurdistan, the Philippines, Ethiopia, Mali, DR Congo, Burundi, Kashmir, Baluchistan (Pakistan and Iran), India (Maoist and other insurgencies), the Maghreb (Africa), Ukraine, and elsewhere;   -   refugee and humanitarian crises;   -   the political madness of regimes with authoritarian leaders – and all who put or keep them there;   -   and, specific to this week,     people power has been used against aggressive commercial propaganda;     reminders of humanity’s potential and that “red tape” can be protective;     patchy media coverage;     questioning over whether recent actions such as the so-called War on Terror have actually made us or our world better, and reminders of the dangers of fascism and neo-nazis;     blunt warnings of the dangers of climate change;     harsh suppression of freedom by several nations – some doing the suppression outside their borders (and one such authoritarian regime has inched towards accountability, if not decency) - and almost all nations are trivialising and/or actively invading the privacy of their citizens;     our neoliberal and commercial propaganda driven lifestyle is creating a world with a crisis of mental health problems;     concerns over a human rights organisation’s credibility;     a strange extension of the concept of security theatre shows a lack of progress on personal security;
(e)   may all people of goodwill have the courage, the perspicacity, and the wherewithal to work together for the BPM;
(f)   may those who seek to extend or abuse their powers and the bounds and limits of their authorities be made known to all, and is such a way that those of goodwill decide willingly to take coordinated BPM action against those abuses and excesses;
(g)   may all people of goodwill everywhere unite to take action on scales large, middling and micro, against the peril of climate change;
(h)   may respect for the innate humanness, dignity and rights of other people and, as soon as it may be due, all sentient beings, be held and actively manifested and acted upon by all people and all other sentient beings;
(i)   may all sentient beings peacefully and willingly and happily forego self gains and benefits and glitz for the greater safety and benefit of all;
It is absolutely VITAL that this psychic / metaphysical / spiritual work be performed non-violently and as is for the Highest Spiritual Good – which is part of being BPM – on all levels and in all ways. Always remember (see here): Do you fight to change things, or to punish? See also here, here, here, here, here, and my comments about “authentic presence” in this post.
News and other matters from this past week follows:
   news items are presented in the following sections (there is overlap, and items may appear more than once):
    -   Permanent and Thematically Arranged News,
    -   Location Based News,
    -   (from a range of) Other Sites (if I have any this week);
   opportunities/good news (in my opinion) are shown in green;
   comments (by me) are shown in purple; and
   WARNING: some of these links may contain triggers around issues such as violence, sexual assault, discrimination, etc.
Permanent Issues and Thematically Arranged News:
  • Permanent issue: may all actual and potential BPM Leaders be kept BPM safe, including keeping them undetectable to the nonBPM and keeping all their Significant Others inviolable against being used for indirect  psychic attack, and may they have all the BPM resources (including an assured income, given the power that nonBPM forces have in the structures of the material world), opportunities and assistance (including so-called “good luck”) for them to be BPM effective at influencing the world’s direction, development and unfoldment, all as is for the Highest Spiritual Good;
  • Permanent issue: may all humans recognise, irrespective of the appearance of difference, the essential shared humanness of other people, the inherent resilience, the dynamic power, the strength of BPM collaboration, and the opportunities of having a diverse, inclusive and welcoming population, and may all people choose fairness, when such decisions are before them;
  • Permanent issue: may all actual and potential BPM  Violence Interrupters (and Interrupters of hate / fear / anger) of be kept BPM safe, and may they have all the BPM opportunities and assistance (so-called “good luck”) for them to be BPM effective at containing and stopping – along the lines of the Cure Violence model - the spread of violence (and hate / fear / anger), all as is for the Highest Spiritual Good;
  • Permanent issue: may all humans choose to live modestly – to forgo outdoing others, or trying to have more than they need - for the sake of an easier, more manageable life, if they cannot do it for the sake of the planet, may we all exercise our human characteristics of reason, self discipline and improvement to overcome the often evil flaw of seeking social status;
  • Permanent issue: may all humans be in better communication with the better parts of their nature – especially those who need that more than other, better people;
  • Matters warranting particular attention:
         this week on reversing the deliberate, well-funded, long-term strategy (from about the 70s) to make self-interest seem normal and a commitment to fairness (such as former US President Franklin D Roosevelt’s Four  Freedoms) an aberration (see also here, here, and here) :     the entirety of this blog and all other spiritual work and physical activism I and many others do;     the public response to the aggressive commercial propaganda (the original term for “advertising”) on the iconic Sydney Opera House – which threatens its listing as a heritage site – shows how people can deal with that scourge;     an interesting philosophical (logical) reflection on current problems and humanity’s potential;     further to Australia’s Royal Commission into banks, an opinion that the “dangerous love affair with deregulation must end, as red tape protects us;
       on other matters requiring particular attention:
       -   sadly, this week, I found nothing in the news on   the Rohingya   or   Yemen;
       -   “the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change [has] said global emissions of greenhouse gas pollution must reach zero by about 2050 in order to stop global warming at 1.5 degrees Celsius” (my nation’s neoliberal government has made it usual denialist rubbish response on this global emergency – what are they going to do when the price of food far outstrips power, and people have no jobs because industries have shut down?) see also these graphs, here and this rebuttal of claims Australia will easily meet targets, ;     farmers – after being slow to the truth - are now saying “you can't keep arguing this is just a cycle”;
       -   another, thoughtful critique of fascism;     Australian neo-Nazis have a plan “to join major political parties and influence their policy agendas from within;
       -   a questioning as to whether or not “the global response to 9/11 [made] us safer”;
       -   harshly repressive and authoritarian China – which is criticising its critics and changing laws to “legalise” its abuses - has now claimed Interpol’s missing chief is under investigation for “suspected violations of law” . . .  – see also here;     as allegations emerge that Russia’s president gave awards to those who committed the attempted murders in the UK by a nerve agent of a former Russian spy and his daughter, a second suspect is revealed to be a doctor (without ethics) – see also here;     ironically, anti-press freedom Turkey’s investigation of the disappearance of a Saudi journalist – part of a disturbing trend started by US President Reagan and taken up with gusto by Saudi Arabia - at a Saudi consulate in Turkey has shown that, after local staff were sent home, a team of 15 (including special forces, autopsy expert) was involved in torturing, killing and dismembering the journalist, an event which has led to a split between the US White House and Congress, questions about the Saudi Crown Prince, and withdrawals from a Saudi investment conference;
       -   North Korea has agreed to outside inspectors;
       -   an unaddressed global mental health crisis is costing the world $16 trillion and 13.5 million lives every year (and to fix it, we need to get rid of the neoliberalism that has everyone at each other’s throats) - see also here;
       -   clean slate elections to the UN Human Rights Council continue to threaten the HRC’s credibility;
       -   guidance on managing demands by border agents to digital devices;     more intrusiveness from social media;
       -   a narrow and mis-focused look at security theatre, but from the perspective of women’s personal security (what idiot decided to try to twist this phrase into personal security?);
         this week’s atrocity alert at R2P lists   Afghanistan, Cameroon and Democratic Republic of the Congo;
  • With regard to democracy (which can be measured [as can goodness],     requires  protection of minorities and the vulnerable   -   and remember Gandhi’s question about whether one is fighting to change things, or to punish,     and     note this list of 198 methods of nonviolent action),     freedom,     governance (e.g., here, here, here and here, and see also here)     and     ethics:
    Note: I have a section specifically for the 45th US “President” (i.e., CEO)  below
       analyses, research and commentary this week include:
       -   a speculation on US attitudes towards isolationism/engagement on the world stage;     “the IMF says a USA-China trade war would ‘make the world poorer’ “;     “shock jocks grab the headlines when politicians fear real debates;
       of concern internationally this week:
       -   the hiding of accident data;     the USA has approved deceptive budget practices”;    an alleged Chinese spy;     burma’s thin skinned leaders have arrested more journalists;
       of concern in my nation (Australia) this week:
       -   following an internal review of IT data (surely everyone knows such things are monitored?), Australia’s neoliberal government is using the Australian Federal Police in an escalated investigation to find the source of the recent leak over a possible abuse of power by Australia’s notorious Home Minister –because the department claims it cannot function if there is no secrecy . . . so much for transparency and open government – and trust;     medical authorities have committed a prolonged and appalling breach of trust by knowingly allowing a gynaecologist to continue harming women for two decades;     an Australian state is trying to shut down taking photos near shark nets – which recently showed a baby humpback whale caught in a such a net – allegedly over “public safety” . . . ;     the transphobia of Australia’s neoliberal, evangelical  zealot prime minister “may come from reading the Bible too literally;     concerning access by a horse racing industry;     MPs who are proponents of free speech seem to block people on social media more;
       also of concern this week:
       -   other concerning events have occurred or are developing in:   Uganda,   USA,   Cameroon;
       good news this week includes:
       -   work aimed at balancing the public’s right to know and “commercial-in-confidence”;
       -   other good news has occurred:   Malaysia,   Nigeria;
       on development (in an “end poverty/thirst/hunger” sense):
       -   “Asian countries have topped a new World Bank measure called the “human capital index” – a measure of youth mortality, schooling and health”;
       and democracy/governance/political matters in my home nation this week:
       on the Royal Commission into banks, and similar matters:
       -   “the Australian Banking Association is seeking to change the way institutions manage a customer's estate so that fees are no longer charged when they die” (how nice of them . . . where were they years ago, and why was this allowed to start in the first place?!);     “after the royal commission revealed retail funds involvement in multiple scandals, consumers are shifting billions over to industry funds”;
       on other matters:
       -   after a leak suggested a report would recommend religious schools be allowed to enshrine hate against LGBT students, causing fear and demands for funding to be cut if any school did, Senators warned against the proposal and amendments to laws were proposed to prevent that ever happening;     Australia’s sexist neoliberal party is replacing a female MP with a male . . . ;     “Australia is divided on the Prime Minister, the ABC and the detention of children on Nauru – but not on climate change”;     economic and procedural criticism of the Australian government’s proposal to push more migrants to regional areas (you could always try getting rid of the small-mindedness out there . . . );     a fight over groundwater extraction for commercial purposes;
  • With regard to the USA (which has some … “unique” characteristics that don’t exist elsewhere in the world)    and their BULLYING 45th “President” (i.e. CEO  or POTUS45) (who is dangerous – see here on actions for US residents [and the useful principles]) this week (I avoid using the 45th US President’s name for psychic reasons – I may use “Voldemort II” as an alias – and the VP is at least as bad):
       -   Voldemort II’s “sheer, unmitigated gall in taking on a victim role when his conservative (i.e., notoriously bigoted) nominee was sworn in to the US Supreme Court – which has left the USA bitterly divided;     Voldemort II’s wife complains about being bullied;
       -   Voldemort II’s supporters “rain down insults, boos and laughter at reporters kept in [a] media pen” – and then complain about a lack of coverage;
       -   a US “pop megastar” who has often been criticised for her neutrality has taken a stand in support of Democrats – which, despite doubts, appears to have caused a surge in voter registration;     racist limitations in the US Democrats;
       -   a critique of a conservative Trumpette who “ruin(ed) her shot at redemption”, although she achieved some good things at the UN (did she resign because of an imminent investigation into alleged misuse of private jets?);
  • With regard to violent extremism (VE) (aka, terrorism)     (ALL people advocating hate or discrimination in response to violent extremism are actively doing the work of violent extremists. This will be countered, in part, by “Cure Violence”, real and perceived disempowerment and acknowledging the variety in what provides genuine, BPM fulfilment as a counter to fanaticism as a source of meaning, and good old fashioned police work.     I don’t name groups to reduce their publicity):
       -   according to this Wikipedia page, there have been 10 attacks in Iraq, 8 attacks in Afghanistan,   and 3 attacks in Syria   (out of a total of 37;
       -   other violent extremist matters have also occurred in:   India;
  • With regard to refugees (noting the New York Declaration) and people seeking asylum:
       -   as a charity providing desperately needed mental health care – under contract, despite the incorrect claims by Australia’s notorious Home Minister - to refuges and Nauruans confirms it has been forced off the island –and calls for an immediate evacuation of all refugees, a Nauruan “security” guard has been jailed for sexual offence against a child at refugee settlement;
       -   other refugee-related matters have also occurred in:   Italy/Africa;
  • With regard to other human (and other) rights and discrimination     (incidentally, I consider it vital to identify people who are bigots, as they clearly have flaws of observation and thinking – shown by the fact that NOT all people choose to discriminate unless they have been educated otherwise [and there’s this]):
       -   reporting of pay gaps may extend from gender to also include race;     “human rights advocates are calling for a ban on sonic devices used to stop young people from loitering in public spaces”;     slow progress on sports becoming inclusive;
       -   in addition to opportunities below on child abuse and human trafficking, general opportunities to take action on human rights here, and, this week,   here,   here;
       on HOMOPHOBIA/TRANSPHOBIA     (including heteronormativity and cisgender-normativity) this week (and noting that trans kids are the same as cis kids of the trans kids’ true gender):
       -   homophobic/transphobic (and heteronormativity / cisgender-normativity) matters have also occurred in:   Scottish media;
       on white supremacist and other forms of RACISM / CULTURAL DISCRIMINATION and Indigenous matters generally this week:
       -   Aboriginal communities are being trained on suicide intervention;     in response to comments by the Australia’s “newly appointed race discrimination commissioner that Australia is not a racist country”, despite a study showing “Indigenous children [are] more likely to fear lack of safety, bullying and discrimination”, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social justice commissioner June Oscar has “declared that racism in Australia is ‘alive and it's kicking’ “;     the former CEO of a controversial elections consultancy is “facing fresh questions about his conduct after a leak of documents revealed he used a highly offensive racial slur to describe the prime minister of Barbados”;     an interview with white southerners in the USA who are no longer racist;
       on TRAFFICKING, and CHILDREN’s and associated human rights this week:
       -   a child has been sexually abused by two other children;
       -   also on child abuse, including institutional, this week:   gymnastics (which has a history of harshness that gets into abuse: should it be removed from the Olympics?),   UK,   Nigeria,   Indonesia,   Nigeria (good new),   USA;
       -   also on slavery / human trafficking this week:   Uganda,   Brazil,   Colombia,   USA,   Turkmenistan,   social media;
       -   opportunities to take action:   here,   here (which I found difficult – eyesight’s not so good these days,   and there’s only so much zoom),   here (great links to useful information),   here (perhaps not so useful for casual,   infrequent shoppers like me),   here (tremendous to see others acknowledged – and I stunned how many organisations are close by,   here,   here (if you are inclined towards creativity),   here (includes donation request for those who can),   here,   here,   here,   here,   here,   and here,   and,   this week,   here;
       on SEXISM this week (keeping in mind the overblown influence given to testosterone):
       -   in a week which has seen fake “feminism” in Russia decried and Australian unions tell one union to stop bullying a woman, the brave woman who testified against POTUS45’s nominee to the US Supreme Court – who is likely to hurt many women, now that he has been confirmed (a process described as a “'disservice to the American public” by the woman who went through a similar ordeal) and sworn in – “faces an unsettling future of “vile hatred, hero worship”;      “a manga artist crushing sexism and stereotypes”;     “as the [Australian] Government prepares to table its response to the Senate inquiry into vaginal mesh, patients say ‘women are still not being believed by their doctors’ “;     one charge has been dropped against a celebrity facing multiple counts of sexual assault charges after it emerged police coached a witness;     as another Australian state crawls  towards legalising abortion as anti-abortionists are emboldened into trying a legal challenge, thirty-six Indian schoolgirls were hospitalised by teenaged boys and the boys’ parents (all of whom should be jailed) whose sexual harassment was rejected, another app to map sexual harassment hotspots is launched, domestic violence was confirmed to spike after recent major sporting events, and misogynists try to silence an honest, feminist description of birth as “trying to shame other women”, an analyses are made of why women don't ask for a pay rise” and (a better analysis) the blocked path of women towards CEO roles, the White Ribbon resigns after making comments about a female killers sex life, an excellent new protest song, “A Scary Time”, is released, and a ”meteorologist carries her young son on her back during weather report”;
       -   other sexism matters have also occurred in:   airline cabins,   Bulgaria,   a notorious radio shock jock,   India,   Egypt;
       on WORKERS’ rights this week:
       -   growing awareness of health risks associated with artificial stone kitchen benchtops;
       on ANIMALS’ rights this week:
       -   some seals are reportedly being injured (blinded or deafened) by measures to keep them away from salmon farms;     another case of animal abuse and threats is being investigated;
       -   other animals’ rights matters have also occurred in:   the Netherlands;
  • With regard to war, violence and hate generally:
       -   the US gun lobby is showing a particularly focused hate for “Everytown for Gun Safety” and its affiliate “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America”;
  • With regard to natural and other catastrophes:
       -   Indonesia has kicked foreign aid groups out of the earthquake zone (that’s the last time I’ll donate for anything in Indonesia);     a bus crash in Kenya has killed at least 40 people;     damage from a tornado and hail storm in northern Australia – see also here (when I was in my mid-20s a willi willi, or dust devil, hit my car in central Queensland, lifting its read a few feet into the air and dumping it onto the opposite side of the road);     an earthquake in PNG;     floods in Spain have killed at least ten people;    the death toll from Indonesia’s earthquake and tsunami continues to rise, and is now over 2,000, with 5,000 still missing as the search winds up;     a sinkhole in China has killed four people;     a Tropical Cyclone (aka “hurricane”) has killed 11 people in the USA;
  • With regard to overcrowding and “modern” lifestyle issues     (such as conflict  minerals,     environmental harm and child labour in smart phones,     FOMO [which can be overcome] and addiction or unthinking pro-technology bias,     second thoughts,     social media making people miserable or envious,     work and lifestyles causing depression,     being duped by modern mantras and  management  fads,     failing” at being well or failing to consider life options,     AI ethics, corporate misuse of mindfulness as a distraction from working conditions,     embedded emissions,     plane pollution,     bigger, flashier homes/cars– which means actively abusing the environment and society’s cohesion and contributing to financialisation,     the need for agroforestry,     the accursed “new is always good” groupthink of the computer world,     abuse of workers by insisting on busy-ness,     raising Prince Boofheads):
       on climate change (our World War III?) and other environmental matters this week:
       -   the head of a major oil company has “said a huge tree-planting project the size of the Amazon rainforest would be needed to meet a tougher global warming target, as he argued more renewable energy alone would not be enough” (good point – how surprising to agree with someone like that);     two more large solar farms in Australia;     as Australia’s Great Barrier Reef Foundation “aims to spend big, but stay quiet on emissions reduction” (which makes them hypocrites, in my view) and a Senate enquiry is told “Australia’s environment laws have been ‘white-anted with loopholes’ and non-compliance takes place on a ‘scandalously huge scale’ ”, the plight of sinking Pacific islands is ignored and yet another fight over solar panels – which homeowners want to use because they know how dire the situation is – and power companies, who want to protect their financial return on over-invested, inflexible and now inappropriate distribution networks and models. Meanwhile, Amsterdam’s canal boats are going electric, in an investment which will take a 12 year period to recoup costs;
       on technology and science matters this week:
       -   more on the social media hack;
       on economic and financial matters:
       -   the Nobel Economics Prize was awarded “for work . . . integrating climate change and technological innovation into economic analysis”;
       on affordable, sustainable and decent housing and homelessness matters this week    (why are   on health and medical this week:
       -   the health risks associated with daylight saving time;     the problems of finding help when one is suicidal (“why I won't tell someone who's suicidal to “just ask for help” “);     a recent rockmelon contamination problem that killed seven people despite proper cleaning and sanitising was “largely caused by dust storms;     grieving after a still birth (something which happened in my extended family this week);     possibly new medical conditions associated with Internet usage;
       on other matters in the category this week:
       -   “being addicted to your job won't make you better at it”;
  • With regard to press aka the media, and freedom of expression     (claims of presenting “both sides” of a debate can be WRONG if the other side is RUBBISH –as is the case on LGBTIQ issues.     Also, media can be unprofessional,     but funding is an issue … ):
       -   standing up to media bullies;
       -   other media / freedom of expression matters have occurred in:   Bulgaria,   Australia,   Scottish media,   USA,   burma;
  • With regard to crime, judicial matters and policing     (noting that an uncle of mine resigned when corruption was not comprehensively cleaned out of the police force he served in, I also have high expectations of police [to match their powers],     and    consider all violence, abuse of power and failure to understand the impacts of their actions [e.g., see here and here] by police – who are under incredible pressure –is, nevertheless, undermining and weakening all police and what they are trying to achieve):
       -   successes in capturing drugs;      a US police officer has been convicted of murder, and another threatened a man who was filming him with a gun;     a musician who stole funds has been sentenced to performing “twice weekly for indigent elderly people” rather than going to jail;     conviction of a man who tried to murder a police officer;     community policing, including helping “more than 200 mostly young people obtain a driving licence” and  “collaboration [geared] to problem-solve rather than us using arrest as the only tool in the kit, has - unsurprisingly, in my opinion - led to a reduction in crime rates in a regional Australian town;      “a West Australian police officer has been charged with two counts of assault after it is alleged he tasered a male driver who had been pulled over for a random breath test”;     an MP is “horrified” that a police officer has been charged over a threatening call (tough – there are legitimate questions about his fitness to wear the uniform);
      -      other crime, judicial and policing matters have occurred in:   USA (police coaching of a witness),   Malaysia (good news),   Greece.
Location based News:
  • With regard to Africa, the Africa Center for Strategic Studies (and other sources) has:
        on Africa generally:
       -   the current Ebola outbreak could spread;
       on specific African nations:
       -   fake election observers in Cameroon;
       -   30 have been killed in a gold mine collapse in the DR Congo;
       -   more on the harsh life in Eritrea;
       -   questions about both the new Prime Minister’s genuineness and the army’s loyalty in Ethiopia;
       -   chaining of mental health patients in Ghana;     China is getting around the law to take control of Ghana’s fishing industry;
       -   Mail is not fulfilling its ‘sovereign role’ [of] protecting its people”;
       -   the ruling party has taken a lead in Mozambique;
       -   a militia fighting violent extremists in Nigeria “has released 833 children from its own ranks”;     abuses committed by those fighting violent extremists are undermining their efforts;
       -   the damage caused by profiteering in South Sudan’s neighbouring states;
       -   Africa’s “youngest billionaire” has been kidnapped in Tanzania;
       -   “Zimbabwe police arrested trade union leaders and scores of activists . . . ahead of planned marches over the country’s worsening economic crisis”;
  • With regard to South and Central America:
       -   concerns that Brazil could go backwards;     an assessment of a Brazilian candidate as possibly “the Trump of the Tropics”;
       -   “protesters in Venezuela have accused the government of murdering a jailed opposition lawmaker, who the authorities say killed himself” (even if he did, it would have been because of being jailed and probably abused or tortured);
  • With regard to mainland China (may her growing middle class bring a love of peace and freedom),     East and South East Asia     and     the Pacific     (and noting the risks of atrocities in North Korea and burma):
       elsewhere in Asia:
       -   the chief priest at Japan’s shrine for war criminals and other war dead will quit after he criticised Japan’s emperor for not honouring the war criminals and other war dead enough . . . ;
       -   Malaysia says it will repeal the death penalty and the much-abused sedition law;
       -   the Philippines backward ban on divorce is trapping women in toxic marriages;     rising rice prices is eroding the popularity of the Philippines’ (bodyguard-imitating initially little rich boy [until sexually abused by a catholic priest], misogynistic [wannabe  rapist], self-proclaimed murderer,  mass killing enabler, admitter of extrajudicial killings,  human rights abusing, with shades of Pinochet)  president  Marcos-Lite;
       and in the Pacific:
       -   as PNG struggles with polio, its leaders have caused outrage by buying expensive sports cars for a conference of world leaders;
  • With regard to Europe and the European Union (EU) (which need to step up, as the USA steps down):
       -   a female Bulgarian investigative journalist has been raped and murdered;
  • With regard to the (forgotten or ignored and underreported) conflicts in Ukraine, particularly in the east:
       -   Ukraine, with a history of problems at ammunition stores, has blamed the latest on sabotage;
  • With regard to Russia (which is currently supporting an – in my opinion, based on R2P principles - illegitimate regime in Syria),     Russian influenced nations     and     eastern Europe,     Central Asia,     and responses to same (see also elsewhere):
       Russia:
       -   Russia’s President’s “plan to divide Europe is backfiring;
  • With regard to the conflict in Afghanistan (noting that Afghanistan was once a peaceful and modern society, even allowing women in miniskirts, before the Russian invasion – see here):
       -   “a young Afghan parliamentary candidate was among eight people killed in a suicide attack”;
  • With regard to South Asia (aka the Indian sub-continent), The Hindu and other sources have:
       on India:
       -   Me Too does appear to be getting going in India;     “airport police in India are being instructed to smile less . . . over concerns cheerfulness could lead to a perception of lax security and a threat of terror attacks” (unbelievable  this is security theatre at its most idiotic);     a project to supply treated wastewater effluent for irrigation has failed badly, and contaminated potable water supplies (there is no excuse for this – such schemes have worked for decades elsewhere in the world without a problem);     an absurdist attempt to defend human rights abuses against refugees;     an even more absurdist attempt to claim automated doors on trains are not feasible;
       on Pakistan:
       -   Pakistan - which has arrested the opposition’s leader “as part of a longstanding corruption case” . . . nine days before crucial by-elections - is both seeking an IMF bailout, with imposed austerity conditions, and implementing public welfare;
  • With regard to West Asia (aka “the Middle East”) and Northern Africa, the Middle East Eye, the Times of Israel, and other sources have:
       on Israel and Palestine:
       -   “the death toll is rising, along with fears of another war, as violence on the border between Israel and Gaza intensifies”;     another refusal to allow entry of someone supporting BDS will be fought in court – and has been described as a PR “disaster” for Israel;     Canada has pledged $38 million for Palestinian refugees, helped to defray the cutback by the Unexceptional States of America;     “when discussing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the language of 'moderate majorities on both sides' wanting peace ignores the asymmetrical power relations on the ground”;     “in response to heavy rioting and attacks at the border fence . . . a halt to the transfer of fuel into the Gaza Strip”;
       -   other violent incidents this week include:   here,   here;
       -   other events concerning Israel/Judaism and/or Palestine have occurred or are developing in:   “a black, Orthodox rabbi’s novel addresses racism in the Jewish community”;
       on Syria (where the Assad Dictatorship has lost all pretence of legitimacy, and partition is needed):
       -   Israel and Syria will reopen their border crossing;     the US will not provide reconstruction aid if Iran stays;
       elsewhere in the region:
       -   “the inflight magazine of Egypt’s national airline has [belatedly] apologised over a bizarre  article . .  that sparked an online furore”;     more legal murders over violent extremist attacks in Egypt;
       -   Iraqi women are “fighting for political inclusion;
       -   a US pastor, arrested for alleged involvement with the 2016 coup, has been released, but problems still remain between the USA and the Grand Sultanate of Turkey;
       -   “the Gulf crisis has helped Qatar's agri-food sector expand using cutting-edge technology to overcome environmental challenges.
General Comments/Information
(Dear Reader, please remember, I expect you to THINK when reading this blog, and I reserve the right to occasionally sneak in something to test that)
Many others are very capably doing this type of work – for instance, the Lucis Trust's Triangles network (which has been running for many decades);     the Correllian Tradition's 'Spiritual War for Peace' (see also here, here, and here), the Hope, Peace, Love and Prosperity Spell (also from the Correllian Tradition, in around 2007 or 2008),     the Healing Minute started by the late, great Harry Edwards (running for decades);     the “CE 5  ET contact” movement started by Dr Steven M Greer, which is the one which appears to me to most capitalise on the teachings of “The Nine”,     the “Network of Light”  meditations;     the 1 Million Meditators movement,     and     also see here, here and here – even commercial organisations (for instance, see here), online groups (e.g. here and here – which I do not know the quality of) and even an app.
Thus, if you don't like what I am suggesting here, but want to be of service, there are many other opportunities for you – including secular opportunities: e.g., see here, here and here.
Again, activism in the physical world is also required - see here, here and here, here, and, of course, here.
(I specifically have a role for (absent) healers on Saturdays [see Psychic Weather Report]. Anyone who wishes to be protector has a role every day :). At all times, on all levels and in ways, BOTH must ALWAYS be BPM in the way they perform such roles.)
If I am ever late getting my Psychic Weather Report up any week, there is a default plan.
