As I indicated previously, I am no longer doing the Gnwmythr's News, but I am doing some ad hoc work on news events on my online candles blog. Below are some of the matters I have lit online candles for.

May:

• China learn from its Tiananmen Square massacre and realise the absolute disaster for it if it interferes in Hong Kong's declining democracy even more  violently than it has to date - or interferes  elsewhere;
• the neochristian catholic church catch up with other christian churches and notions of decency and stop protecting child abusers; 
• police and other authorities accept that transparency is crucial to good governance, whether it is embarrassing or not, and BPM cooperate; 
• the planned execution in Texas be BPM stopped by the petition; 
• technology use the tools it has to fight white supremacists - including POTUS45; 
• my nation's neoliberal government stop pretending that the climate crisis doesn't exist and that other people's survival isn't at risk, and stop bullying those smaller, at-risk nations; 
• sexism in sport and violent sexism in the media be BPM contained, neutralised and reversed; 
• the combined bigotry of POTUS45 and Israel's current leader be BPM contained, neutralised and reversed;  
• the threat of North Korea's new type of missiles and Russia's new type of cruise missile (revealed by a deadly explosion), be BPM fully revealed and made known, contained, neutralised and reversed (especially the attitudes underlying the problems); 
• my home state's ongoing enquiry into solid waste management and recycling be BPM successful; 
• the lessons and experiences of reformed bigots and haters be duly BPM considered; 
• privacy be BPM respected and properly ensured - including accepting that facial recognition is flawed; 
• may all international treaties be kept BPM relevant and appropriate; 
• where it is truly BPM beneficial, international trade continue to BPM grow; 
• my home state's protection of indigenous and recreational water values be BPM successful; 
• the truth of the situation in Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh be BPM revealed, known, and acknowledged, and BPM given due and proper consideration;

• the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong be as safe and peaceful as is BPM possible;
• the lockdown of Kashmir during a major religious festival be BPM ended; 
• POTUS45's hate and xenophobia be BPM contained, neutralised and reversed; 
• the interactive replication of a Rohingya refugee camp in a British shopping centre BPM successful - and used elsewhere;
• infrastructure and populations be maturely BPM debated - including the climate crisis implications; 
• Germany's action on climate change be replicated; 
• the arctic fires be BPM contained and put out;
• Saudi Arabia stop trying to force a jailed female dissident to deny that they tortured her; 
• women be BPM safe everywhere - including defeating the moronic culture of drunkenness; 
• my nation BPM clarify and confirm human rights from common law, international treaties and reasonable expectation, in a bill of human rights, using a model similar to that of my home state; 
• BPM useful investment in BPM research continue; 
• future indigenous leaders continue to be BPM supported and listened to; 
• the far right wing extremist media beat up over abortion in NSW be be BPM exposed, contained, and neutralised; 
• the neoliberal disaster - especially economic - in my nation (and elsewhere) be undone; 
•  the age care crisis be BPM contained, neutralised and reversed (I knew someone in the 90s who was trying to do what he thought was important in this area, and because of his neoliberal financial and physical focus, and his emotional incompetence, he contributed to the inevitability of this; 
•  our public service be assisted to be BPM effective; 
• freedom and democracy be acheived in Afghanistan; 
• the struggle for indigenous rights led by Māori women be successful; 
• abuse of power always be BPM exposed, contained, neutralised and reversed, and the Australian MP who appears to be under the influence of a foreign government be BPM removed forthwith if that is so.

• the world BPM act on the Kashmir crisis;
• Russia stop disrespecting Ukraine's sovereignty;
• Kong Kong BPM move peacefully back to democracy; 
• POTUS45's latest attempt at diversion be BPM seen through;
• the gagging of abuse victims be BPM stopped; 
• the sneakily announced breathing space for journalists be BPM formalised and extended to whistleblowers also - and existing protections in NSW BPM honoured; 
• the backbench be properly BPM active; 
• the use of restraints in deportations be BPM stopped; 
• Haftar stop - or be BPM stopped - from killing more civilians in Libya; and
• proposed improvements for trans people in my state be adopted.

• Japan and South Korea NOT learn the wrong lessons from China;
• my home state's enquiry into homelessness and school dental vans be completely BPM successful; 
• homophobia and transphobia in Poland (and Paraguay), and the forces of evil behind them (including the neochristian catholic church), be BPM contained, neutralised, and reversed; 
• Indigenous and women's rights be recognised - also to boost the fight against the climate crisis; 
• Kenya catch up with the late 20th Century;
• Indian farmers recognise the financial and environmental stupidity of unnecessarily burning off their fields; 
• violence continue to decline in the CAR; 
• the art of bonsai be resurgent; 
• social media stupidity be stamped out;
• the abuse of microfinance in Cambodia be BPM contained, neutralised, and reversed; and
• the "lip service" to the welfare of the elderly by desensitised profit mongers be BPM contained, neutralised, and reversed.

I also lit candles for:

• For those harmed or affected by the South Asian monsoon; 
• For those harmed or affected by the stabbing in Sydney and attempted shooting of police in my home city; 
• For International Lefthanders Day;
• For International Youth Day; and 
• a few other matters.
