Post No. 2,379 - Correcting more errors and misconceptions about polarity

One of the authors I respect is Josephine McCarthy - and I've mentioned her previously - see here, here, here, and here - which is particularly relevant as it refers to use of a hexagram as a clairvoyance aid.

I am now reading Josephine McCarthys “The Magical Knowledge Trilogy” (Quareia Publishing, 2020; Apple; Amazon), and finding it largely excellent.

My one point of dissension so far that is strong enough for me want to write something concerns the polarities contained within a hexagram.

This has been described in the usual bipolar terms: each triangle represents a polarity.

However, much as the halves of the Taijitu illustrate the dynamic nature of such matters by each half containing the seeds of the opposite, so too does the fact of the two triangles coming together and intermingling inherently points out that the polarities are not all there is. Some parts of the triangle in fact protrude beyond the other, so there is clearly not a linear progression from one polar extreme to the other.

In fact, in Hinduism the hexagram symbolises humanitys position between heaven and earth, and in some occult traditions the interpenetration represents a third outcome - e.g., the perfect human coming out of the joining of a humans higher and lower nature.  Other sources refer to the symbol as indicating balance.

To think this is an illustration of bipolar extremes is to fail intellectually as well as spiritually.
