If Denmark is actually serious about defending Greenland, then, in my opinion (IMO), from 24 hours after the US incursion into Venezuela, Denmark should have:
- had special forces and equipment to jam US military communication in place in Greenland (is it possible to block or interfere with satellite gathering of data?);
- had back up provisions for locating US military activity - particularly in remote areas of Greenland, which could be used as safer landing points (as the UK did in the Falkland Islands in the 1980s) - being developed;
- given the minuscule size of the Danish military, had negotiations underway - and demonstrations of supporting force (e.g., troops deployed, military overflights, naval vessels [especially submarines] visiting, etc) happening from - as many allies as possible happening.
This is the time, spiritually speaking, for courage and action against evil. It is only going to get harder and costlier (especially in terms of lives) the more action is delayed ...
The other action that would help Greenland and global freedom is, following the killing of a woman by ICE (currently being investigated by Minnesota and the Federal Bureau of "Investigation"), for Minnesota Governor Walz to stop dithering and mobilise the State National Guard to defend Minnesotans against ICE.
That creates a powerful internal challenge to the current US regime, and will force them to focus within the USA, and to possibly have second thoughts about sending military forces (or the planned scale of military forces) to Greenland.
Other states doing likewise would help (I've given up on the US republican party as being of any value or decency at all), and I am going to write some emails to my local (Australian) MPs urging them to be prepared to ensure Australia stands up and acts as a mature, independent, and decent nation globally ...
