As I indicated previously, I am no longer doing the Gnwmythr's News, but I am doing some ad hoc work on news events on my online candles blog. Below are some of the matters I have lit online candles for.

• China learn from its Tiananmen Square massacre and realise the absolute disaster for it if it interferes in Hong Kong's declining democracy even more  violently than it has to date - or interferes  elsewhere;
• the neochristian catholic church catch up with other christian churches and notions of decency and stop protecting child abusers; 
• police and other authorities accept that transparency is crucial to good governance, whether it is embarrassing or not, and BPM cooperate;

•  the age care crisis be BPM contained, neutralised and reversed (I knew someone in the 90s who was trying to do what he thought was important in this area, and because of his neoliberal financial and physical focus, and his emotional incompetence, he contributed to the inevitability of this;

• freedom and democracy be acheived in Afghanistan; 
• the struggle for indigenous rights led by Māori women be successful; 
• abuse of power always be BPM exposed, contained, neutralised and reversed, and the Australian MP who appears to be under the influence of a foreign government be BPM removed forthwith if that is so.

• the world BPM act on the Kashmir crisis;
• Russia stop disrespecting Ukraine's sovereignty;
• Kong Kong BPM move peacefully back to democracy; 
• POTUS45's latest attempt at diversion be BPM seen through;

My approach this week will be (incidentally, if you disagree, please use your own interpretations, or your own divinations [see the monthly :World Psychic Predictions / Remote Viewing" here for an example of other approaches):

• Sunday: the purpose of this day’s work is, mainly, to build a reserve of BPM energy to call upon during the coming week. In addition to the meditation / clearing work described below, I will also be working on making sure I, my crystals and my other tools / devices are as fully charged with BPM energy as I can make them (which is something I have posted about elsewhere, but may post more about in the near future):
   - clear nonBPM units from, and send BPM energy to the Arctic, the North and South Atlantic Oceans, the Southern Ocean, Antarctica, and the Indian Ocean, and to all actual and potential BPM Leaders, for all humans to recognise the essential shared humanness of other people, all BPM Interrupters of violence / hate / fear / anger, and for all humans to choose to live modestly;

There is an introduction / reminder / explanation about these posts here (and also see here for some investigation into evidence of the effectiveness of this type of work, which shows variability [and mentions causes] and cycles in the energetic/consciousness response), and some additional comments at the end of this post. Please also note that I hope this work will be taken up by a network of competent dowsers and BPM psychic warriors (also, this blog was created for spiritual reasons, including a course: this is just part of it).

As you read this, consider this: how does one outflank an idea, or attack an emotion in the rear? It is as well to consider what those who are unbalanced could do to good ideas and emotions, as well as considering BPM ways to outflank or ‘attack in the rear’ bad ideas/emotions. Also consider geopolitics, and this mapping exercise.

Remember, the meditation (see here, here, and here) consists of:

 - appropriate and responsible protection (see here, here, here), prayer and ritual (e.g., here) to establish and check protection (re-do or re-schedule, if you don’t feel safe and secure);

 - establish a personal connection to Higher BPM influences;

 - flush one's aura with emerald green, royal blue and royal purple;

 - fill one’s Heart Chakra (and maybe one’s Earth Star, Solar Plexus, Third Eye and Crown Chakras) with emerald green, royal blue and royal purple; send a weave of three streams of this colour from the Chakra(s) to a visualisation of a gigantic, multi-faceted emerald (which has been created to facilitate networking of BPM workers) through your facet until you see your energy enlivening other areas of the emerald and can feel similar energies flowing back to you;

 - visualise the rune / bindrune (if given);

 - generate  feelings of love, peace, joy and respect;

 - strengthen those feelings (energies);

 - radiate those energies to the world for nine to eighteen minutes;

 - close your chakras, centre yourself and close your aura, use the banishing version of the LBRP to open circle, ground and release all excess energy; and make sure you are grounded and closed down – eat, if you need to, or seek help from someone capable and trusted.

Important note: although I show the flow of energy using arrows, they are really - to continue the weather chart analogy - more like the passage of a frontal system as shown on a synoptic chart. Also, if I ever miss doing a Psychic Weather Report, I have posted a standard, fall-back, default version here, which I will update from time to time when needed.

Irrespective of this assessment, however, please join us in trying to make sure that the Shield of Hope area formed by (part or all of) the South Atlantic Ocean, Southern and Eastern Africa (including both sources of the Nile), the Indian sub-continent (including the Himalayas) and the Indian Ocean, shown outlined in gold on this week’s energy map, consistently has BPM energy at or above 7 by the time Neptune leaves Pisces, on around 30^th March, 2025 (a date which has an eclipse the day before). If you wish to do a little more coordinated action on a positive strategic front, I'm also planning on routinely sending BPM energy to Hong Kong, Tunisia, and Mexico, which show potential as "outposts of the BPM” and I wish to encourage their change for the better, and through the Red Sea and Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea.

It is also worth contemplating that one of the greatest weaknesses of those who oppose Balanced Positivity is the inherent pain, suffering and negativity of their aims and means – from the personal slights, insults and traumas left by the petty tyrant, autocrat, dictator/monarch or those oligarchs or politicians who are ruthless (some at least are not; some are BPM), through the social dislocation of the economic ideologue to the long-lasting trauma, injury, death and desolation of society caused by those who use violence or war as a means to achieve power or impose their will. It may take time, but people WILL eventually realise what is not good, and will take action – which is why slavery is no longer ubiquitous, and why the march to freedom and democracy is underway – tentatively, and with backsliding and mistakes along the way, but inexorable nevertheless.

Also, if you’re interest is healing, I have changed the way I do these posts to more clearly show opportunities for doing healing. Post No. 1,388 - Cross Posting: Jammu and Kashmir, and the immediate future of South Asia

Around 40 to 50 million years ago, the floating area of the Earth's crust now known as the Indian plate (later stuck with the Australian plate to become the "Indo-Australian" plate) bumped  into the floating area of the Earth's crust now known as the Eurasian plate. This collision - which is still going - led to a number of things, geologically speaking:

• the disappearance of 2,500 of the Indian plate; 
• the elevation of the Tibetan plateau;
• the creation of a region which "supplies fresh water for more than one-fifth of the world population, and accounts for a quarter of the global sedimentary budget. Topographically, the belt has many superlatives: the highest rate of uplift (nearly 10 mm/year at Nanga Parbat), the highest relief (8848 m at Mt. Everest Chomolangma), among the highest erosion rates at 2–12 mm/yr, the source of some of the greatest rivers and the highest concentration of glaciers outside of the polar regions" - and a region of continuing major tectonic activity (i.e., earthquakes, and associated problems such as landslides  and  floods); and 
• amongst other features, the development of a monsoon and the formation of the Indus River (map here), from which India gained its name, an area made fertile by the events that created this region.

With South Asia having been occupied by modern humans for at least 75,000 years (and hominids for half a million years), the fertile Indus valley was the site of one of the oldest known human civilisations, and is "the most important supplier of water resources to the Punjab and Sindh plains – it forms the backbone of agriculture and food production in Pakistan".

Eroding mountains and water: as with the Nile, which carries the rich silt of East Africa down to lower levels and contributed to the Ancient Egyptian civilisation, the Indus valley was an area of opportunity, and that led to people, and a succession of empires competing for the rich resources of this region, with the British (see here, here, here, and here) and Russians (stopped, ultimately, on the northwestern border of Afghanistan) being the most recent before World War (part) Two.

The British had the appalling but sadly effective practice of using the old, Ancient Greek/Roman tactic of divide and rule (sometimes preceded by "divide and conquer"): notoriously, one of the bases for division used was religion. Now, as befits a region of such fertility, South Asia has a rich history of religion - including seeing the origin of several major religions and religious practices (see here, here, here, and here). For more on this mix, see here and here (the map is particularly useful), for instance. The British practice soon became problematic for them - as well as everyone else living under it. The ultimate expression of that manufactured level of religious hate was the tragic partition of India - opposed by Gandhi, which displaced 10 to 12 million and killed up to two million people, and was compounded by being done in a hurry.

One of the problem areas was the "princely state of Jammu and Kashmir", created from an area the British had taken from the Sikh Empire in 1846. That area saw massacres of Muslims which led Gandhi to comment:

"The Hindus and Sikhs of Jammu and those who had gone there from outside killed Muslims. The Maharaja of Kashmir is responsible for what is happening there…A large number of Muslims have been killed there and Muslim women have been dishonoured."

Hindus and Sikhs were also massacred, with the death toll later being estimated at 70-100,000 Muslims and 20,000 Hindus and Sikhs.  The violence, which included an attempted invasion supported by Pakistan, led to the region's leader, a monarchical (i.e., not elected - effectively largely appointed by the British) ruler, deciding to become part of India, which then led to the first (of four to date) India-Pakistan wars.

The war ended at a "Line of Control", with India keeping around half to two thirds of the disputed region, and Pakistan one third.

There was no vote or even consultation with the people of the region, and it is unlikely any attempt to do so could have been successful at the time (and a later floating of a possible plebiscite was sunk). A Wikipedia article includes the following:

"According to the Encyclopædia Britannica, "Although there was a clear Muslim majority in Kashmir before the 1947 partition and its economic, cultural, and geographic contiguity with the Muslim-majority area of the Punjab (in Pakistan) could be convincingly demonstrated, the political developments during and after the partition resulted in a division of the region. Pakistan was left with territory that, although basically Muslim in character, was thinly populated, relatively inaccessible, and economically underdeveloped. The largest Muslim group, situated in the Valley of Kashmir and estimated to number more than half the population of the entire region, lay in Indian-administered territory, with its former outlets via the Jhelum valley route blocked." "

I can't comment on that, but it does seem to me that this region is where a sectarianism that was, if not totally manufactured seriously magnified for purely political reasons (convenience and continuation of imperial rulership), has been concentrated into its most lethal expression. This region, one of outstanding beauty and a fertility that has been appreciated for tens of millennia, has been reduced for the last seven decades to a state of self-perpetuating conflict.

The fertility of this region has seen:

• in Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir, a GDP of US$17 billion in 2018 - around 0.5% of India's total GDP (the region's HDI is 0.684, compared with India's 0.640 overall); 
• on the Pakistani side of the border, the GDP of ~US$3 billion is ~1% of Pakistan's ~US$274 billion GDP (Pakistan's HDI is 0.562; I don't know what the HDI is in the region, but, whatever it was, it was devastated by by the 2005 earthquake).

No government is going to be willing to lose 0.5 - 1% of its GDP (not to mention around 1% of its population).

And that's apart from the problem of "blood has been shed for that/this land" - the human desire to see past losses either rendered meaningful in some way, or acknowledged in a way that descendants and survivors consider "proper".

There are no easy or obvious solutions here - and India's decision to change the status of Kashmir (which has economic benefits for India) has certainly been inflammatory as far as Pakistan is concerned.

I have tried to think of other times and places of similar division, and the Troubles in northern Ireland and the UK is probably the closest I can get to. There, it was the work originated by Betty Williams and Mairead Maguire (unacknowledged on Wikipedia) that ultimately led to a peace process and a peace agreement (now potentially at risk because of Brexit). The viciousness and hate there also seemed intractable (and that history went back over centuries, longer than we're considering in Kashmir), but a solution was found by the people of the region - beginning with women.

That also brings to mind the ultimately successful "Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo" in Argentina, another movement that took decades to gain its aims.

There are women (and men) organising as peace  activists in Kashmir: are we seeing the start of a solution?

If we are, we need to also see both sides acting to temper, not inflame sentiments. Pakistan showed the way earlier this year: it's now India's turn - over to you, Prime Minister Modi. Don't led this devolve to the brink again - you have your political support, you have time and opportunity to show leadership for the region. Please do.

Post No. 1,387 - Cross Posting: After 1788, Australia has mostly been racist

I was listening to a radio programme today while I was out restocking on everything I'm using for the residue of the flu, and the guest commented about how the actions of the evil John Howard against the refugees on the MV Tampa, which was acting in accordance with the SOLAS convention, had led to more racism in Australia.

I agree that the actions of John Howard, a person whose homophobic legislation led me to write "The debate and ranting in reaction to this legislation have, however, hardened the once shallow fault lines that Howard identified and then incised deeply into the bedrock of Australian society", were evil, and did, in fact, lead to more racism.

However, Australia has been a deeply racist society for much of its history after 1788 (I've written about this previously - see, in particular, here).

We denied the existence of indigenous people and tried to kill them (or wipe them out by assimilation) from 1788, and the next hate after that was against the Catholic Irish, and then the Chinese became a target of all sides on the minefields of the gold rush, after which we got even worse and formalised things into the White Australia policy - something which contributed later to South Africa's apartheid horror, a fact that always makes me hang my head in shame.

Racism was used to justify Australia becoming a (49% free) sovereign nation in 1901, and was a powerful (abhorrent) factor in decisions made by Australia during the second world war  one Minister, in response to a proposal to allow non-white refugees into Australia (I think - may have been about non-white soldiers) said "well, what's the point?", implying there was no point fighting the war if Australia was no longer almost exclusively white.

That blatant and widespread racism started to get broken down after World War Two, beginning -at an official level - with immigration from areas of Europe other than the UK. The multi-national aspects of the Snowy Mountains Hydro-electric Scheme often held up as a success, but Italians and Greeks experienced considerable racist hostility in everyday life. The official acts against racism continued, with an act banning racism in 1975. passed by the Whitlam government, which also had the flashy Minister for Immigration, Al Grassby, start getting the term "multiculturalism" into social consciousness.

That didn't mean we stopped being racist. I was at high school in Queensland at that time, and kids were racist and hateful in many ways - against descendants of Pacific Islanders who were enslaved, the Maltese who developed the sugar industry around Mackay (Dad, as bank manager, approved a fair few loans for Maltese weddings, so we got to go to quite a few large, exuberant, non-Anglo weddings), there were fights between gangs of various ethnicities, etc.

The arrival of Vietnamese refugees was a big deal at the time, as was anger - in Queensland - at the sale of land to Japanese business people.

In my opinion, a dichotomy developed in the nation, with multiculturalism stronger in the south (where I went as soon as I was able), and xenophobic hate and fear stronger in the north - ironically, exceptions are made for pizza and the generalised, blander Westernised version of "Chinese food". (These are trends: there are multiculturalists in the north and racists in the south, but most are as I indicated.) Thus, it was no surprise to me that Queensland elected a notorious racist, someone the evil John Howard was able to use as an excuse to move Australia back towards the White Australia mentality of 1950s white picket fence that he is generally considered to adore.

This dichotomy was fully active in the era that the radio guest was talking of, and I consider she was either showing the effects of a limited social bubble (the same limitations that left so many blindsided by the recent Commonwealth election result), or was adopting a foolish political tactic.

We need to admit the problem so we can fix it, and admit the causes of it - which are not only hate. Fear around jobs is also part of this, and has always been part of it, and isn't managed by uni graduates being dismissive and trite of the concerns of blue collar workers (an ex- of mine used to sort recycling [before she had to stop work for health reasons, and obviously before it was sent overseas] because she hadn't finished high school, as some people don't).

Yes, John Howard is evil and did evil - but he was able to because he reached voters more effectively than progressives.

It's a problem we're still struggling with: getting the advantages of the progressive message out to the people who are going to be helped by it, the people who have been cowed, duped and rendered fearful by neoliberals.

How do we stop preaching to the choir?

(I don't know, which is why I'm asking the question.)
