Information and Summary/Analysis:

Note: I am NOT a journalist, and make NO claims to objectivity or freedom from bias. Furthermore, I do not hold copyright to any of the articles I link to, nor do I claim authorship, except for those links to material I have written for this and my related blogs, and my commentary in these posts. (I try to make sure quotes are shown using quotation marks.)
The purpose of posting these news links is not only to inform; it is also to

   stimulate a connection to:
    - nonBPM units that need to be cleared, and
    - BPM units that need to be strengthened,
   so that you can do the clearing / strengthening that is required.

That only works if you don’t let yourself be overwhelmed by this, so take it in small chunks if you need to, but remember to actively clear and heal! … including yourself.
As part of that, note that there are key uncooperatives to be cleared (rescued): you should ONLY address those that are within your ability – if you get a sense (e.g., through meditation) or are told by your BPM Guides/Higher Self to back off, do so, and content yourself with clearing the smaller nonBPM units within your capability – which will weaken those uncooperatives. More importantly, there are many people doing this sort of work, and others are quite likely to be able to clear the uncooperatives concerned.
That is also one of the many reasons it is OK to take a break or cut back this work if you need – in fact, doing so will help you deal with the next point, which is …
… the energies we use and manifest in our daily lives contribute to the larger soup of energies that influence world events, so it pays to address those as well, to the extent that one can, or to at least stop oneself projecting them into the psychic soup.

There are some notes at the end of this post about other options for those who do not like this way of working.
Finally, one of the biggest concerns I have about spirituality in the world now is that the concept of agape type love has been perverted into both a quest for emotional warm fuzzies, and an excuse to avoid doing the hard work of improving oneself and all that one does. On that, it may help to consider the simplification that one cannot love perfectly until one has learned how to perfect. (And one of the concerns I have about those resisting change is that they are so shallow / superficial /stupid that they thing their actions have ONLY the meaning of their [limited] conscious intention … ) See also here and here.

The themes that come to mind for my work this week, after I review all this news, are:

(a)   based on my interpretation of information here and here with Saturn in Sagittarius contributing to finding an authentic balance (until 20^th December, 2017), Uranus in Aries contributing to fresh and possibly radical starts (until some date in the Year 2018), and Pluto in Capricorn contributing to a transformation of power and business (and careers) (until some date in the Year 2024), conditions are ripe for a change for the better in world politics;

(b)   there is an enormous need to clear nonBPM energy – the thought forms, unattached energy and scars of the collective unconscious created by millennia of violence, including spirit rescue, and healing the warped views, seemingly “inherent” biases, and other damage created. Also, remember:   -   (1) the counter to fear is genuine  EQ and clear thinking, expressed through calm, de-escalating speech,   -   (2) where problems exist, advocating for BPM responses, and being as BPM as one can be, are constructive solutions,   -   (3) peace is powerful, but it is a process requiring patient, persistent and nuanced nurturing, and a blend of conventional spiritual work, clearing nonBPM units, and physical world activism;

(c)   viewing the overall emotional state of the world this week, I consider we need healing, so I have selected the rune Berkana;

(d)   dealing with the 45^th President of the USA requires:
           1. eroding (i.e., slow, patient and persistent clearing of the little bits one can SAFELY cope with – remember, you are but one of many) the nonBPM influences feeding his arrogance and mind-set, and strengthening the USA’s CEO’s BPM Guides and giving them whatever BPM help they need to present a BPM alternative to promote a change of heart,
           2. lifting the nonBPM influences from the shoulders of the USA’s CEO’s marginal supporters, allowing them to “come to their senses”, which may result in them feeling bewilderment/shame, and simultaneously strengthening the BPM influences around them (e.g., their BPM Guides) to counter them backsliding,
           3. physical world activism (especially education) – e.g., this. As well as doing what one can there, help those who are doing this work (e.g., sending them “positive vibes”) and look for nonBPM blockages that can be cleared (e.g., setting up a BPM vortex above meetings to draw away external nonBPM influences/energies/units, so that the audience can listen as they are, without any obsession/possession);

(e)   the major events this week are:   -   as attraction to violence continues to be inadequately addressed, ongoing violent conflicts and crises in Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Mexico, Somalia, South Sudan, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Libya, Sudan (Darfur and South Kordofan), Yemen, Egypt (Sinai), Kurdistan, the Philippines, Ethiopia, Mali, Burma, DR Congo, Burundi, Kashmir, Baluchistan (Pakistan and Iran), India (Maoist and other insurgencies), the Maghreb (Africa), Ukraine, and elsewhere;   -   refugee and humanitarian crises;   -   the political madness of regimes with authoritarian leaders;

It is absolutely VITAL that this psychic / metaphysical / spiritual work be performed non-violently and as is for the Highest Spiritual Good – which is part of being BPM – on all levels and in all ways. Permanent Issues and Thematically Arranged News:

• Permanent issue: may all actual and potential BPM Leaders be kept BPM safe, including keeping them undetectable to the nonBPM and keeping all their Significant Others inviolable against being used for indirect  psychic attack, and may they have all the BPM resources (including an assured income, given the power that nonBPM forces have in the structures of the material world), opportunities and assistance (including so-called “good luck”) for them to be BPM effective at influencing the world’s direction, development and unfoldment, all as is for the Highest Spiritual Good;
• Permanent issue: may all humans recognise, irrespective of the appearance of difference, the essential shared humanness of other people, the inherent resilience, the dynamic power, the strength of BPM collaboration, and the opportunities of having a diverse, inclusive and welcoming population, and may all people choose fairness, when such decisions are before them;
• Permanent issue: may all actual and potential BPM Violence Interrupters (and Interrupters of hate / fear / anger) of be kept BPM safe, and may they have all the BPM opportunities and assistance (so-called “good luck”) for them to be BPM effective at containing and stopping – along the lines of the Cure Violence model - the spread of violence (and hate / fear / anger), all as is for the Highest Spiritual Good;
• Permanent issue: may all humans choose to live modestly – to forgo outdoing others, or trying to have more than they need - for the sake of an easier, more manageable life, if they cannot do it for the sake of the planet;
• Permanent issue: may all humans be in better communication with the better parts of their nature – especially those who need that more than other, better people;
• Matters warranting particular attention:
     this week on reversing the deliberate, well-funded, long-term strategy (from about the 70s) to make self-interest seem normal and a commitment to fairness (such as former US President Franklin D Roosevelt’s Four  Freedoms) an aberration:   the entirety of this blog and all other spiritual work and physical activism I and others do;
     on the Rohingya crisis this week:
     -   Australians wondering, in response to our neoliberal government’s refusal to act, “at what point do soldiers who kill and rape hundreds of men, women and children cross a red line?”;   praise for reporting by the International Crisis Group;
     on the North Korean nuclear tensions this week:
     -   North Korea has indulged in rhetoric about the new sanctions;   more new sanctions – on two North Korean missile experts;   Russia is blaming the USA – not North Korea’s missile tests and nuclear weapons development – for increasing tensions (mind you, the macho rhetoric of the USA and DPRK haven’t helped … ), and has offered to mediate;
     -   on the fallout from the USA’s recognition of (all?) Jerusalem as Israel’s capital:
     -   the US will cut its ~$3.1 billion contributions to the UN by $0.3 billion in retaliation for other nations expressing their opinions – which might backfire, coming as it does at “a time of almost unprecedented global humanitarian need and increasingly bitter and intractable conflicts”;   the death toll in protests has reached 12;   Guatemala’s President – suffering from domestic allegations of corruption - has followed the US line;   Israel wants to name a train station after Voldemort II;   children are being targeted by Israel;   claims that the US was “not taking a position on any final status issues, including the specific boundaries of the Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem” (if true, this means the decision was incompetently managed, given that the boundaries ARE THE KEY ISSUE – why wasn’t the qualifier “West” put before “Jerusalem” then????);   confirmation that the wheelchair-bound Palestinian who was killed was shot in the head (by a sniper, as alleged?);
     on other matters requiring particular attention:
     -   underreported crises;
     -   concerns over whether “apps change what it means to be human” (as well as ethical, privacy and bias concerns);   “former US president Barack Obama – who is continuing to look Presidential - says the way people communicate via social media risks splintering society” and leaders “should stop corroding civil discourse and seek to unify society”;   facebook is getting around bans on access to children and their data;   “digital assistants and other IoT devices create a triple threat to privacy: from government, corporations, and hackers”;
     -   employers are resisting attempts to reverse the casualisation of the workforce;
• With regard to democracy (which can be measured [as can goodness], and requires  protection of minorities and the vulnerable – and remember Gandhi’s question about whether one is fighting to change things, or to punish, and note this list of 198 methods of nonviolent action), freedom, governance (e.g., here, here, here and here, and see also here) and ethics:

     and democracy/governance/political matters in my home nation this week:
     -   a newly re-elected MP has shown he is biased against the differently abled;   as hundreds of millions are spent on management consultants, concerns exist that years of job cuts have stripped the public service of specialists;   how ironic – and offensive – that, nearly three decades after the union-busting (by a Labour government) of the 1989 pilots’ strike, Australia is – again – short of pilots … ;   inadequate action to protect the public’s private data against identity fraud;
• With regard to the 45^th US President (who is dangerous – see here on actions for US residents [and the useful principles]) this week (I avoid using the 45^th US President’s name for psychic reasons, but also use either “the USA’s CEO” or “Voldemort II” as an alias):
     -   an admission that the USA’s 45^th President was so stupid he thought business skills would result in a peace deal in Palestine-Israel within a year … ;
     -   a challenge to the voter fraud panel accessing personal data has been rejected;
     -   a senior UK christian has “lambasted conservative evangelical Christians in the US for their “uncritical support” of Donald Trump, urging them to reflect on how their endorsement of the president relates to their faith”;
     -   another tax dodge for the rich;
• With regard to violent extremism (VE) (aka, terrorism) (ALL people advocating hate or discrimination in response to violent extremism are actively doing the work of violent extremists. This will be countered, in part, by “Cure Violence”, real and perceived disempowerment and acknowledging the variety in what provides genuine, BPM fulfilment as a counter to fanaticism as a source of meaning. I don’t name groups to reduce their publicity):
     -   violent extremist attacks/acts have occurred this week in Afghanistan, Russia, Afghanistan (2^nd), Egypt, and, according to this Wikipedia page, there have been 5 attacks in Iraq and 4 attacks in Afghanistan (out of a total of 21);   and actions (Note: there are many others that don’t reach the media I read) have occurred this week against violent extremists in: Kashmir;
     -   a US court has ordered the US military to immediately allow legal representation for a US citizen detained in Syria as a suspected violent extremist;
• With regard to refugees (noting the New York Declaration) and people seeking asylum:
     -   rations for Somali refugees in Ethiopia – currently at 80% - will be cut further to stop them running out in March;   the UN has urged Australia to resolve its Manus Island gulag;   a Liberian refuge has become a mayor in the USA;   the experience of refugees trying to get to Europe;
     -   other refugee-related matters have also occurred in: Somalia/Kenya, Mexico/Venezuela – see also here, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Germany;
• With regard to human (and other) rights and discrimination (incidentally, I consider it vital to identify people who are bigots, as they clearly have flaws of observation and thinking – shown by the fact that NOT all people choose to discriminate unless they have been educated otherwise):
     on homophobia/transphobia (including heteronormativity and cisgender-normativity) this week (and noting that trans kids are the same as cis kids of the trans kids’ true gender):
     -   transphobic abuse of a young nephew by a tax dodging sportsman;
     -   other homophobic/transphobic (and heteronormativity / cisgender-normativity) matters have also occurred in: former Soviet states;
     on white supremacist and other forms of racism and indigenous matters generally this week:
     -   a reflection on progress and the lack of progress in indigenous affairs in Australia;   more idiots who think intent matters with racist acts;
     on sexism this week (keeping in mind the overblown influence given to testosterone):
     -   the heads of a beauty pageant has resigned after their misogyny was discovered;   sexual harassment is a workplace OHS issue;
     -   on sexual harassment/misconduct this week - more accusations/resignations and commentary (note: these are not convictions): here, here;
     -   other sexism matters have also occurred in: India, India (good news), Afghanistan;
     on religious rights this week:
     -   support for a mosque where a worshipper was assaulted;   microaggression and other discrimination towards religions that are not centrally ordered – such as misogynistic, child-abusing neochristianity;   a US judge will not tolerate game playing from the founder of a neo-Nazi website notorious for its racism and being sued for anti-Semitic trolling;   a US imam has prevaricated over apologising for calling for the death of Jews;
     -   other religious rights / Islamophobia matter have also occurred in: the Netherlands, China (good news);
     on workers’, children’s, privacy, and other forms of human (and other – e.g., animal) rights this week:
     -   a critique of personal reactions to the phrase “check your privilege”;   the last abused bears in Nepal have been rescued;   some corporations are taking action against modern slavery (why aren’t they all?);   the benefits of pets;   bank and utility abuse of widows and widowers;   the former editor of an autobiography of a misogynistic far right extremist who is into child abuse had described the work as “at best, a superficial work full of incendiary jokes with no coherent or sophisticated analysis of political issues”;

• With regard to war, violence and hate generally:
     -   a US truck driver has shown how disturbingly easy it is to get – publicly available - information to design a nuclear weapon;   continuing obstruction and inaction on violence in the USA – see also here;   children are increasingly being targeted;
• With regard to peace and/or spirituality generally (including survival after death, and good religion), development (in an “end poverty/thirst/hunger” sense) and the occasional nice story (and to get people to constructively remedy: fear of being single / asexual / off-grid or a rebel / innovator / non-conformist / true to yourself, belief in management  fads and fashions, distracting themself aka filling their time, and accept extraterrestrial UFOs):
     an argument to behave nicely towards digital assistants … hmm;   helping poor people by giving them a bus ticket elsewhere;
• With regard to natural and other catastrophes:
     -   a fire has killed dozens of people and a Tropical Storm, which intensified into a Typhoon as it headed towards Viêt Nam before weakening, has killed hundreds of people in the Philippines – see also here;   a record cold snap has hit North America and will continue;
• With regard to overcrowding and “modern” lifestyle issues (such as conflict  minerals, environmental harm and child labour in smart phone , FOMO (which can be overcome) and addiction or unthinking pro-technology bias, second thoughts, social media making people miserable or envious, being duped by modern mantras and  management  fads,  “failing” at being well, AI ethics, corporate misuse of mindfulness as a distraction from working conditions, embedded emissions, plane pollution, bigger, flashier homes/cars– which means actively abusing the environment and society’s cohesion and contributing to financialisation, the need for agroforestry, the accursed “new is always good” groupthink of the computer world, abuse of workers by insisting on busy-ness, raising Prince Boofheads):
     on climate change and other environmental matters this week:
     -   as a beach is trashed by drunks, growing desire for low waste festivities;   fossil fuel companies are spending $180 billion on manufacturing more plastic … ;   more on “lab-bred super corals”;   concerns over the proposed weakening of Australia’s marine parks;   short films from “the climate change front line”;   extreme weather in 2017;   composting toilets at a festival;   an activist has said “young people need to be more innovative and visionary, because the solutions of my generation have failed”  see also here;  renewables generate three times more power than coal in the UK;

     -   a surge in mature-age apprenticeships;

     -   “in response to an over-reliance on speculative, developer-led urban renewal models which is challenging the liveability our cities, … citizens, architects and civic leaders in many cities are taking matters into their own hands”;   rubbish dumpsters are used by some homeless people for food, but can also be lethal traps;

     -   another car attack by a mentally ill person has raised concerns about my home state’s mental health services;   a text message service will support new fathers - one in seven of whom experience high levels of psychological distress and one in 10 anxiety;   the importance of – and consequences of a lack of – sleep;   social anxiety;   stupid (and somewhat disgusting) myths about treating jellyfish stings;   Australian medicine’s excessive use of anti-psychotic drugs;   morons “who add energy drinks to alcohol have a higher risk of injury from car accidents and fights”;   drunk idiots are injuring themselves on public transport;

• With regard to press aka the media, and freedom of expression (claims of presenting “both sides” of a debate can be WRONG if the other side is RUBBISH –as is the case on LGBTIQ issues. Also, media can be unprofessional, but funding is an issue … ):
     -   media / freedom of expression matters have occurred in: Burma, India, Ukraine;
• With regard to education:
     -   an Australian state government has decided to cut the skills of its teachers;  a call to replace supplementary exams with better teaching during the semester;
• With regard to crime, judicial matters and policing:
     -   “a perplexing problem ... as general crime rates trend ever downwards, prisons all over the country are experiencing significant overcrowding”;   the politics of “tough on crime” continue to prevent addressing the health and social issue that is illegal drug use.

Location based News:

• With regard to Africa, the Africa Center for Strategic Studies (and other sources) has:
     on Africa generally:
     -   a report on “the scale and seriousness of the crimes committed against the civilian population” by the DR Congo army and puppet militias;   a ceasefire in the DRC;   the DRC is trying to weed rebels out of South Sudanese refugees;   a joint Congolese and Ugandan mission has killed scores of suspected “militants” behind a recent attack on UN peacekeepers;   the DRC opposition will challenge planned electoral reforms;
     -   dubbing into local languages has given TV a boost in Ethiopia;
     -   the ongoing arbitrary detention and judicial harassment of a human rights defender in Equatorial Guinea;
     -   Liberia has voted peacefully for its new President, and is heading for a peaceful transfer of power;
     -   the cholera outbreak in Nigeria has been contained;   Nigeria will buy jet fighters from the USA;
     -   “thousands of Somali refugees who were pressured into leaving … Kenya are now facing drought, starvation and renewed displacement in Somalia”;   sustained cooperation is needed to address Somalia’s challenges;
     -   “South Africa's top court has ruled that parliament failed to hold [the] President ... to account in a scandal over multi-million-dollar upgrades to his home, and must launch proceedings that could remove him from office”;
     -   as concerns grow over the unsustainability of Zimbabwe’s centralised subsidy of agriculture, young people are leaving for the city;   Incredibly Ancient Former Despot Mugabe has got an extremely comfortable “retirement” package;   “anti-corruption investigators in Zimbabwe are probing how an ally of former first lady … acquired large areas of prime land in the east of the country”;
     on Libya:
     -   an oil pipeline has been sabotaged;   one faction has ditched the UN-backed accord;   Libya has returned refugees to Guinea … ;
     on Sudan and South  Sudan:
     -   20 people have been killed in fighting after the ceasefire in South Sudan;
• With regard to South and Central America:
     -   central America is struggling to find a way to sustainable use of water;
     -   concerns that the Colombian Minister of Defence’s trivialisation of the scandalous killings of human rights defenders as “lovers’ quarrels” calls into question his ability to carry out his functions;
     -   although Mexico’s murder rate of 18.7 per 100,000 inhabitants (compared with murder rates per 100,000 in 2015of 27 in Brazil and Colombia, 57 in Venezuela, Honduras 64, El Salvador 109 and 5 in the USA) is lower than 2011, the number of murders has reached a record high of 23,101 in the first eleven months of 2017;   the Cartagena Declaration on Refugees is enabling Mexico to take medical refugees from Venezuela;
     -   protests over the pardon of a former Peruvian President;   “a Peruvian football official accused of taking bribes has been cleared”;
     -   forty four Venezuelan activists have been released from prison;   Venezuelan and Canadian diplomatic relations are strained after criticism of Venezuela’s human rights abuses;   Venezuelans are continuing to struggle - see also here;   28 arrests for “looting and disorder”;
     -   other events concerning South and Central America  have occurred or are developing in: Ecuador;
• With regard to China (may her growing middle class bring a love of peace and freedom), East and South East Asia and the Pacific (noting the risks of atrocities in North Korea and Burma):
     -   actions on East China Sea tensions;
     on China, Hong Kong, the DPRK (North Korea) and South Korea (which need to accept their partition – for now – and sign a peace treaty), Taiwan, and the free but invaded and occupied nation of Tibet:
     -   Shanghai has set an upper limit on its population;  an opinion that China’s economic power is lesser than claimed;   after attempts to eradicate it, and in response to decades of greed, corruption and other materialistic problems, Daoism is making a comeback in China;   spy satellite photos allegedly prove China is sending oil to North Korea;   Orwellian surveillance in China;
     -   “there is no evidence North Korea diverted wages paid to its workers by South Korean firms in a now-closed border industrial park to bankroll its weapons programmes”;
     -   a former executive of a major company is facing jail for bribing the former President of South Korea;   “South Korean President Moon Jae-in says the country's 2015 agreement with Japan to settle a decades-long impasse over Korean women forced into wartime sexual slavery is seriously flawed”;
     -   Hong Kong is allowing domestic workers from Madagascar to be abused;
     -   a Tibetan film maker has fled China to the USA;
     elsewhere in Asia:
     -   Burma will drop charges against journalists who used a drone … but has kept them in custody … -more on their arrests here;
     -   the son of the drug-justified mass killing President of the Philippines has resigned over his – the son’s - drug links … ;   the massive rights abuses in southern Philippines could intensify under martial law;
     and in the Pacific:
     -   PNG villagers may be poaching Australian dugongs;   a critique of the quashing of the arrest warrant for PNG’s Prime Minister;   the employment and other challenges facing the Solomon Islands, as they continue to recover from “the troubles”;   the problem of passports of convenience from Pacific nations;
• With regard to Europe and the European Union (EU) (which need to step up, as the USA steps down):
     -   a suggestion that the EU could use “smarter” agreements with non-members like Ukraine and (human rights abusing) Turkey;   “Europe's unprecedented challenge from the authoritarians in the east”;
     -   Finland is trying a businessperson for forced labour of berry pickers;
     -   France is investigating to sale of surveillance equipment to Egypt;
     -   Germany will deport unaccompanied Moroccan child refugees;
     -   the USA’s new ambassador HE Foot-in-Mouth to the Netherlands has apologised for being Islamophobic – and for denying it;
     -   Catalonia’s pro-separatist leader wants Spain to allow him to go home;
     -      the UK’s strategy to deal with modern slavery has been found “inadequate”, but the slave markets in Libya have been debated after a petition more than doubled the minimum requirement;   social media will face sanctions if they continue to obstruct an enquiry into alleged Russian interference in the UK referendum;
• With regard to the (forgotten or ignored and underreported) conflicts in Ukraine, particularly in the east:
     -   the USA will provide weapons to Ukraine to even the struggle against Russian-backed rebels in the east – leading to a suggestion that NATO admits it made a mistake;   Ukraine and “Russian backed rebels” have exchanged prisoners;   growing resentment towards the central government in western Ukraine;   calls for charges of treason against a journalist who criticised the government’s approach towards Russia’s occupation of Crimea to be dropped;   an article on “improving the fortunes of” the displaced in Ukraine;   Ukrainian survivors of modern slavery are being given a new start;
• With regard to Russia (which is currently supporting an – in my opinion, based on R2P principles - illegitimate regime in Syria), Russian influenced nations and eastern Europe, Central Asia, and responses (see also elsewhere):
     Russia:
     -   the leader of Russia’s “opposition” was nominated for President – and then banned, leading to arguments about a call for a boycott, in this outstanding democracy (sarcasm, Joyce);   the social media accounts of a notorious Chechen human rights abuser have been blocked;   Russia is contemplating extending its censorship;   former Soviet states are rabidly entrenching homophobia;
     in eastern Europe:
     -   Turkey’s foreign policy is moving closer to Russia;
• With regard to the conflict in Afghanistan (noting that Afghanistan was once a peaceful and modern society, even allowing women in miniskirts, before the Russian invasion – see here):
     -   the problem of disconnection between the central government and rural areas;   the appalling abuse that is virginity tests;
• With regard to South Asia (aka the Indian sub-continent), The Hindu and other sources have:
     -   Russia’s growing influence in South Asia;   tensions over the treatment of the wife of an alleged Indian spy when she visited a Pakistani prison;
     on India:
     -   a tree planter in India;   the continuing crackdown on media;   concerns over the deportation of a human rights activist;   fears that hundreds of women and girls are being abused in ashrams;   a fatal fire;   the bill banning so-called :instant divorce” (“triple talaq”) has passed;   a cold snap in northern India;   helping girls take up soccer;   an editorial on bank problems;   support for a proposal to expand “green cover”;   student suicides;   a “forest guard” has saved an elephant calf;   an Indian artist-activist collects clothes donated by victims of sexual assault as testament to the fact they are not to blame;
     on Pakistan:
     -   the cover up of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination ten years ago;   child marriage in Pakistan;
• With regard to West Asia (aka “the Middle East”) and Northern Africa, the Middle East Eye, the Times of Israel, and other sources have:
     -   a review of 2017;
     on Israel and Palestine:
     - Israel wants to pressure a young kiwi singer;   a critique of Israeli court decisions on torture;   criticism of levels of Israeli use of tear gas at a Palestinian refugee camp;   the detention without charge of a prominent Palestinian politician and rights campaigner has been extended;   an opinion piece on the arrest and continued detention of a Palestinian girl;   Israel is improving blast doors for bomb shelters;   claims of a secret deal between the USA and Israel against Iran;   Israel will boost aid to nations that support it;   further allegations of corruption against Israel’s Prime Minister and his wife are being investigated;   “hundreds of Arab Israelis have protested against a visit to their town by [Israel’s] Prime Minister … , accusing his government of racist policies”;   Israel’s troubled programme for Ethiopian Jews will end;   more “settler”-Palestinian violence;   “dozens of 12^th-grade students said they are refusing to be drafted into the IDF in protest over what they say is “the army’s implementation of a racist government policy that violates human rights””;
     -   other events concerning Israel and/or Palestine have occurred or are developing in: USA;
     on the (forgotten [or ignored] and underreported) conflict - and its consequences - in Yemen:
     -   keeping Yemeni ports open is vital;   the Saudi-led coalition has killed over 100 civilians in air raids;   a call for the USA to do more – including taking a nuanced view - to help Yemen;
     on Syria (where the Assad Dictatorship has lost all pretence of legitimacy, and partition is needed):
     -   “critically ill patients are being evacuated from [a] besieged Syrian rebel-held enclave … , but the fate of hundreds of others with life-threatening conditions remains unresolved”;   one group of rebels in an isolated pocket may leave for other rebel held areas – but see also here;   water buffalo are disappearing from Syria;   Syrian Kurds say Russia has promised they can attend peace talks;
     on Iraq (which was a peaceful and prosperous society before the UK / USA / CIA backed revolution – see here) and Kurdistan:
     -   baby, toddler and child victims of violent extremists are being treated at a Mosul orphanage;
     -   and the Iraq Body Count project reports 52 people violently killed in the last week;
     elsewhere in the region:
     -   Egypt has executed 15 violent extremists (thereby guaranteeing more angry rebirths … and more anger and martyrs now);   arbitrary detention and judicial harassment of a human rights defender in Egypt;   France is investigating to sale of surveillance equipment to Egypt;
     -   growing military tensions between Israel and Iran;   Iran is trash talking the USA;   hundreds of Iranians have protested against the high cost of living;
     -   a backlash against Lebanon’s Foreign Minister for daring to say Israel could exist;
     -   more protests calling for “jobs and development” in Morocco after two miners died;
     -   Qatar is still abusing workers – this time, those from Nepal;
     -   “an international chess tournament is starting in Saudi Arabia amid controversy after Israeli players were denied visas”;   a warning that Saudi Arabia is going to experience despotism under the crown prince;   Said Arabia is abusing and deporting Ethiopian refugees;
     -   Turkey has reintroduced special uniforms for political prisoners and absolution for civilians engaged in violence – as existed under the military dictatorship in the 1980s … ;   the USA and Turkey have lifted visa restrictions, but Turkey is continuing word games … ;   Turkey has “laughed off” a demand by the ICC to arrest Sudan’s criminal leader (is that like the shark not eating the lawyer – “professional” respect?);   Turkey has signed an investment deal with Tunisia.

Other News:
