PS - something I have been thinking about lately is how superficial, self-deluding and slack some people are - especially those who think doing the same as everyone else is "proof" of their depth of thought. A particularly egregious subset of those people is those who believe conservative media and blame that for how they voted: others saw through the deception, why didn't they? What is wrong with their thinking that they didn't? Have they allowed their emotions - e.g., need to feel accepted or get peer approval - above being a mature self-reliant, capable and independent adult?
There is a lot of that sort of incompetent thinking in alternative religions, as much as elsewhere (and also in people's attitudes towards renters - including the widespread fallacy that renters can't order people off their property: we can). Some of these links touch on that.
