One of the things I’ve expressed concern about in the past is the apparently fairly standard neochristian iconography that appears in a lot of channelled and extraterrestrial communication.
Now, as I’ve been reading Preston Dennett's book “Symmetry: A True UFO Adventure” (Amazon) I have found a possible explanation. From that book (emphasis added by me):
“Dolly explains. “I’m not kidding. Everybody asks, do you believe in God? Everybody. That’s the number one question to an ET onboard. Do you believe in God? Who do you believe in? I hear that all the time. And basically, they try to explain that we’re all related, that we’re brothers and sisters. They’ll use those terms exactly, that we’re all one. They will tell you that love is the answer, and that you should do good. And they will tell you that there is -- it’s very hard to explain to people that are very religious that what you believe in as God is not a God. Whatever you’re comfortable with is how they try to explain it to you. They don’t try to change your mind about anything. To do so is to take your autonomy away from you.”
There is a similar attitude in spiritualism: don’t take away someone’s belief system unless there is something else to replace it.
That’s great from the point of view of looking after people, but less good in terms of searching for truth.
My position is that most, if not all, religions were founded on something good, and there may be a residue of that good still present, but the neochristianity which has become endemic in lieu of genuine, compassionate Christianity (Quakers are probably closest to what that religion should be) has MANY failings to lay at its door - child abuse, misogyny, encouraging destruction of the environment, being a tool to support colonialism, etc.
It would, in my opinion, be better for the world that people start to move towards spirituality without dogma - and not taking away misconceptions about Deity restricts that, and thus restricts our spiritual evolution.
This does raise a point that I’ve also touched on previously: that not everything done (or not done) by all extraterrestrials is good.
That issue was also touched on in this week’s Dreamland episode. Although I consider it went a little too far towards the “hey this is bad” side, it did raise some points worth considering - for example, at around 44 min 30 sec Whitley Strieber describes how extraterrestrials can “write a novel . . . and put it in your brain”.
That telepathic ability can be good, bad, or neutral, depending on how it is used, what it results in, what the motivations were, how well human rights and dignity were respected, etc.
Another point I am beginning to consider after this and last week’s Dreamland episodes (read the comments on the episodes - some are very good) is the possibility that some abductees suffer some form of Stockholm syndrome - they begin to identify with their abductors.
Fortunately, there are solutions:
- learn about psychic protection;
- look after your nonphysical health, strength and wellbeing;
- learn to meditate; and
- develop your communication with your BPM Guides and Higher Self.
Those skills help you avoid being duped in a wide range of situations - earthly, as well as unearthly (and the latter including both extraterrestrial and nonphysical).
