Post No. 2,702 - More on racism in the UFO field

One of the clearest signs of internalised white supremacist views can be downplaying or denying the existence and problems of racism. 

I’ve just watched a YouTube video where one of the hosts stated that extraterrestrials do not belief in the existence of race, but only in the oneness of all life. 

That is a problem: when you’re talking to people who have been profoundly abused for generations by racism, claiming it does not exist only results in your looking like a clueless, completely out-of-touch amathiac - which I have written about here. 

The host was correct in stating that all life is one, but talking to people who are the victims of race and saying “race does not exist” has the problem I mentioned above. 

A better way to phrase this would have been along the lines of 

“Although race is used on Earth, most often to justify discrimination and violent, irrational hate, extraterrestrials consider that a sign of lack of evolution, and the trauma of that continuing problem must be addressed, and do not even give much weight to species, but prefer - as a sign of spiritual evolution - to focus on the essentialist oneness of life”

I am of the opinion that the lack of awareness of the problems of race, and that those problems (especially the systemic ones) cannot be denied away, may be because those exhibiting this problem are white, or white-presenting (but see my final paragraph). 

Those suspicions were strengthened when one of the hosts and the guest of them claimed the US state of Missouri was - in my words - not discriminatory.

There were other problems as well. 

On the other hand, people are clearly taking action on these problems, and I have corresponded with the other host of this show and am aware that they know of this problem - and that many contactees are actually trying to address these and other problems to make the world a better, more equitable and inclusive place.

PS - I’ve thought of an analogy (not a very good one: I’ll fix this if I can think of something better) to help explain this. 

Let’s say you have gone to provide aid to a place that needs help. Among other things, you’ve learned the local language - but there is one quirk they have, which is to use the word “red” to describe both the colours red and blue. There is no point in you saying red means only blue and when you refer to blue you mean only blue - it simply won’t be understood that way by the people of that place. 

In the same way, if you try to tell someone who has lived a lifetime of receiving racist abuse, probably on top of generations of inherited trauma from receiving racist abuse, to try to claim that race either does not exist or that it is the same as the word “species” will only result in those you are talking to discounting you and everything you do or say as ludicrous and out-of-touch with reality - no matter how much it might be real in the place(s) you came from.
