In the extraterrestrial/UAP/UFO field, many contactees/experiencers/researchers/etc use the term “race” for different types of extraterrestrial.
Biologically, this is wrong.
There may be connections between the evolution of different types of extraterrestrials, but that makes them members of the same genus, not different races within a species.

(Note some species within a genus can interbreed - consider homo sapiens sapiens [us] and Neanderthals.)
More importantly, those who are misusing race so casually are showing:
- an extreme lack of awareness of hate within human societies on this planet;
- problematic “thinking” on their part - e.g., lack of awareness/ability to correctly perceive of reality (white supremacism and other forms of racism are real), and bias - possibly unconscious - on their part as a result of white cishet and, in many cases, male privilege (which means “unearned advantage”, not “easy life”);
- bias against ET/UFO/UAP interactions with Indigenous and non-European cultures and peoples (there have been some excellent books on those non-European interactions);
- incompetence with communication.
Humans who make this fatal error of communication damage or even destroy their credibility - there are some I will have nothing to do with because of their hate (which is what bigotry is, in the deeds it causes).
Extraterrestrials who do so - if their motivation is BPM - similarly damage and set back their cause.
Both humans and extraterrestrials need to understand the difference between BPM and nonBPM, as well as the basics of bigotry and responses to bigotry. Access to more technology - no matter how advanced - or knowledge does NOT change how people live, or cause increased spirituality: it just changes how people do what they are already doing.
Consider the role that gunpowder has had in killing more people - or the existential risks of nuclear weapons, and the existential risks of the climate crisis, caused by the overuse of new technology.
The failure to understand those lessons from human history (and similar aspects of ET history) is a perfect illustration of the four dot points listed above.
And tech geeks who think access to new knowledge/technology without a change in the distribution of power in our patriarchal human societies would make life better are an even more potent illustration of those problems.
Stop using race when you should use species!
