Something I have been using and teaching for decades is a basic way of using BPM energy to clear (or rescue) nonBPM units, based on a categorisation of units into links, objects, energy, cooperatives, and uncooperatives.
It’s now time I recorded the more advanced ways of doing that (and I mentioned some of this in my most recent Rangers of the Inner Plane story - see here [I have mentioned other techniques for using BPM energy there as well ... that may be a future series] ), and I have started writing those down - so that I can share them here, of course.
As a first step, I am going to try working with the following categorisation (and I am borrowing from martial arts and pop culture for the terminology) of clearing techniques - and this may change if I find that necessary or advantageous.
This is a STARTING POINT: others should adapt this to suit their circumstances, and it always needs to be adapted to changes over time – and, at some stage, will no doubt be replaced by something more effective. So … over to you, Dear Reader.
Form 01 - Block and outlast
This covers non-active (passive is a bit of a misnomer) techniques, including pre-emptive techniques such as wards or shields that are created routinely, as part of responsible living to protect units most commonly from disharmonious, rather than malicious, energy.
Protection techniques such as sealing one’s aura, establishing protection around a place, or protecting concepts/aspects of life (such as income) in advance of any specific threat occurring are included in this Form.
However, it also includes creating any sort of reactive barrier (mirror, image of brick wall, energy barrier, prayer for protection, etc) created in response to a detected psychic attack or being affected by nonBPM units - most commonly a stream of disharmonious, not malicious, energy.
Any absence of malice in the source makes this a particularly appropriate response – and the techniques are generally fairly easy and quick to use.
The concern for all reflective (as opposed to absorptive) applications of this technique is:
What happens to the reflected energy on the other side of the Form 01 Unit/response? Could it harm other Life?
One should therefore check whether the reflected energy is doing any harm, and switch to another technique if it is – as well as undoing the harm caused.
If the source of the problem either later becomes malicious, or was found to have hidden its malice, there MAY be a need to change to another technique, but, in many cases, as it takes considerable expenditure of energy to keep hating/disliking, patience and persistence may be enough to outlast the malice of the source, which results in one having resisted successfully without having dragged oneself down to the level of the problem or in any other way having compromised one’s spiritual principles.
Not adopting another Form when it is required, though, risks making this exercise a spiritual bypassing problem.
Discernment and honesty is always required.
This technique is well suited to Earth elemental energy/units / magick/magickal techniques.

Form 02 - Redirect – diffusion
This is a development of Form 01, in that one cares about what happens to the energy that is reflected away.
This set of techniques is based on reducing the intensity of the energetic flow.
To illustrate that, consider water before and after a pressure pump: after it has been pressurised, it will be more forceful.
To put that another way, gentle showers over a large area will have a lower impact on the ground (in terms of immediate damage such as erosion; I am not considering drainage and floods – which is also connected to length of rain) than concentrating all that rain into a smaller area.
One more analogy: if you have a garden hose, they often have an adjustable nozzle so one can either have a narrow, forceful stream, or a wide mist discharge.
The nonBPM energy/activity being received is concentrated: the aim of this technique is to ensure the reflected flow is dispersed as much as possible so that there is the least chance of it doing harm.
To emphasise that: this set of techniques is based on reducing the intensity of the reflected nonBPM energetic flow towards yourself.
It should be noted that the lack of harm is NOT guaranteed: that means one should also check whether the reflected energy is doing any harm, and switch to another technique if it is – as well as undoing the harm caused.

Form 03 - Redirect - absorption
In much the same way that Form 02 is a development of Form 01 aimed at reducing the risk of unintended harm, Form 03 is a development of Form 02 that is aimed at further reducing the risk of unintended harm.
Form 03 does that by directing the reflected to energy to unit(s) – whether place(s), energetic units, prepared, capable and willing people, or something else (maybe another dimension) that is:
- confirmed (e.g., by your BPM Guides / Tutelary (Matron/Patron/Non Binary) Deities / Higher Self / other BPM sources) as having the capability at the time of redirection to handle the reflected nonBPM energy/influence without harm; AND
- has provided free consent to undertake that role; AND
- is fully prepared for that role.
Having emphasised the ethics of this, it should also be noted that:
- your BPM Guides / Tutelary (Matron/Patron/Non Binary) Deities could be the receiving point;
- it is possible to pre-arrange this role with other people, places, spirits, and other units;
- be aware that sending energy/units/influence to higher dimensions or Mother Earth could be disruptive – or, at the very least annoying, so you should always check (it doesn’t, with practice, take long to do so) with the entities and other sentience at those points that doing so will be acceptable and not cause harm.
The ability to scout out such locations/people/sentience/other units, together with the abilities to communicate (two way – listening is vital, and, as Zeno of Citium said “We have two ears and one mouth, so we should listen more than we say”) with them and work collaboratively and respectfully, are vital – far more so than the technical abilities.
And on the technical abilities, I generally use reflective shields.

Form 04 - Redirect – distraction
When nonBPM units (most commonly energy, but could be something else as well) is being directed by a being (not necessarily human), one of the possibilities is to distract their attention. Then, while they are distracted, you could remove yourself to a place of safety, prepare to use another Form, seek help, or a combination of those and other techniques.
As a physical world example, if you were playing hide and seek you could maybe – somehow – arrange for a noise or some movement to distract the seeker while you move to a different position.
Obviously that would not work if you were being sought by, say, your pet dog, as they are very scent focused.
If you are being subjected to a direct psychic attack, you could ask your BPM Guides to provide a distraction, and they may create a thought form nearby of someone the attacker dislikes even more, with a view to the attacker shifting focus to attacking the image. Then, before the attacker works out that they are attacking only an image, you can take any of the actions listed above.
This is one of those techniques that sounds simple … until you actually get into the nitty gritty of actually doing it.
It is a technique that one has to be extremely careful about, as one must be absolutely sure you are not redirecting the attacker’s attention to a person/place/other unit that is real – even more so, if the person/place/other unit is vulnerable or even potentially vulnerable.
It is also possible to distract by creating an image nearby of something the attacker or doer-of-harm wants, but the same provisos apply in that instance as well.
And there are a whole bunch of advanced variations of this that I am not going to get into here.
For now, I suggest you get your BPM Guides to create the distraction, or limit yourself to creating images (especially non-visual – sounds, scents, vibrations, etc are all useful) of, for instance, BPM units “behind” whoever is attacking you so that your attacker will do the astral equivalent of glance behind them (which is less likely to work for more skilled opponents).
If you want to do more, find a real life BPM teacher, or develop your ability to work more effectively with your BPM Guides / Tutelary (Matron/Patron/Non Binary) Deities / Higher Self / other BPM sources.
This technique is well suited to Air elemental energy/units / magick/magickal techniques.

Form 05 - Surround and siege
The purpose of surrounding a nonBPM unit is to isolate it from the nonBPM – both from other nonBPM units, and to also stop that unit exerting any nonBPM influence.
The purpose is NOT to isolate the unit from the BPM.
Apart from using Form 06 techniques, allowing BPM connection and influence raises the possibility of BPM healing, and of continuing and strengthening communication between any entities who this technique is being applied to and their BPM Guides / Tutelary (Matron/Patron/Non Binary) Deities / Higher Self / other BPM sources.
Without the noise of the nonBPM, the BPM is more apparent.
The techniques I use are the same as protection I apply for myself, but around other units – and, of course, check always – including with your BPM Guides / Tutelary (Matron/Patron/Non Binary) Deities / Higher Self / other BPM sources – before doing this.
The key here is intent: form the BPM units with the intention that they block nonBPM units/influence but allow BPM units/influence through.
This technique is well suited to Earth elemental energy/units / magick/magickal techniques.

Form 06 - Attrition
Attrition means, in a sense, “to wear away”: to, for instance, erode confidence, or reduce strength – which can be used against us as well.
This can be used against units that are contained, restrained or “held in place” (such as held in a Form 05 siege, which this was part of the technique I outlined here, although I hadn't mentioned it), much like sandpapering wood held in a clamp, or against units that are still in motion, like wind wearing away paint on a moving vehicle.
Again, it is important for the sake of our nonphysical health, strength, and wellbeing to remember that this can be used against us as well – even if we are not in a trap or constrained in any way.
The advantages of this technique are:
- one does not have to be as strong as the Units being worked on;
- it can be used subtly, without an obvious conflict;
- it is adaptable to a wide range of techniques and circumstances;
- one has time to consult with one’s BPM Guides / Tutelary (Matron/Patron/Non Binary) Deities / Higher Self / other BPM sources as one goes, to ensure that one is staying entirely BPM.
The disadvantages of this technique are:
- it may take quite some time to have an effect;
- it can just as easily be used against us.
Also, as mentioned, this could be part of another response – such as a Form 05 siege.
I tend to most commonly use Form 09 techniques for the erosion (such as sending the occasional small pulse of BPM spiritual love), but other techniques can also be used.
As an example, if a nonBPM person is reliant on someone else to maintain their rage, perhaps distract that someone else so that they do not meet the nonBPM person, which may result in the rage easing, and thus contribute to the nonBPM person becoming BPM.
And, as part of your regular self-care, spend some occasional time and effort – including communicating with your BPM Guides / Tutelary (Matron/Patron/Non Binary) Deities / Higher Self / other BPM sources - to see if these techniques are being used against you, and, if they are, work out how to counter them (possibly in conjunction with your BPM Guides / Tutelary (Matron/Patron/Non Binary) Deities / Higher Self / other BPM sources).
This technique is well suited to Water and/or Air elemental energy/units / magick/magickal techniques.

Form 07 - Absorption
This is a difficult and dangerous technique: if it is not done correctly, one risks setting oneself back spiritually – and one may harm those one loves.
The technique is used by some Yogis / eastern adepts and some shamans/shamanesses, and consists of drawing into oneself energy that is nonBPM – energy that is, in a healing context, causing or contributing to illness/dis-ease, for instance, and then dissolving that energy by overwhelming it with one’s own BPM energy.
In a sense, one is drawing the problem into oneself, and then applying Form 09 to oneself.
And, if you do not adequately apply Form 09 to yourself, you risk taking a massive leap backwards on your spiritual path by making that problem (if it is spiritual) a part of your being.
If the problem you have absorbed is emotional or mental, you have taken on a problem that could result in self harm – or, depending on the type of energies you have taken on, result in you having problems where you harm others, perhaps your loved ones.
So I repeat: this is a difficult and dangerous technique.
For that reason, I will not post any details of this technique: it is one you must find a good, ethical and BPM physical world teacher to be able to use safely and effectively – and, in my experience, Form 09 is far safer, more likely to be effective, and better suited to wide use. I have only used this technique around half a dozen times in half a century, and those occasions could also have been met by using Form 09 over a longer period.
However, what I will post for now, is that the best preparation for this (which is also of benefit for one’s being generally) is:
(1) Know Thyself - including Lesson Three here, and master the art of checking (including these) – including having someone you trust to keep an eye on how your are going, watching for any changes of character, etc, someone who is unafraid to call you out, and who you will listen to when they do;
(2) Be as free of the nonBPM energy you are going to absorb as is possible. If you have freed yourself of that nonBPM energy once before, it will be easier to free yourself of it again;
(3) Be as good in your nonphysical strength, health and wellbeing as you possibly can: it is better that the energy you are absorbing is comparable to your strength as a fly is to an elephant than the other way round;
(4) Be scrupulous in your application of BPM ethics on all levels – preferably, also unconsciously, so that if there is a risk (such as you lacking adequate relative strength to do this without impact while also meeting your life obligations without problem) such that you should not do this, you will not; and
(5) practise and MASTER the breathing exercise Tonglen – which is best written about (in my opinion) by Pema Chödrön.

There is also a variation of this, which has SLIGHTLY less risk: absorb the nonBPM energy only to the extent that you can move it, and then take to a stronger place/Unit for that place to deal with – which requires the pre-arrangements and consent of that place/Unit as per Form 03.
This technique is well suited to Æther and Earth (working together) elemental energy/units / magick/magickal techniques.

Form 08 - Allow through
This is also a difficult and risky technique, although not as harmful as absorption. The main risk with this technique is of harm to oneself, although if severe enough that could lead to one harming others (possibly accidentally/indirectly).
I first came across this concept in the 1970s with a very … “forgettable” (dreadful!) variant of a spaghetti western that some friends at Uni dragged me along to (at least they also regretted their choice), where one character had the capacity to let bullets pass through his body (or to catch them in a net and redirect them – all done to some sort of weird cackle and even weirder filming effects).
Then, in the early 2000s, I came across a group who had published their spiritual and magickal training techniques online, and that included allowing nonBPM (my term, not theirs, but covers the concept) to pass without resistance through oneself.
Those techniques were subsequently removed, so I suspect the publication was accidental, and I will respect that removal by not naming them nor describing any of their techniques.
I am a little doubtful about this Form, and thus haven’t done much development of techniques myself, but I will raise two points of concern, although before that: what is the point of this technique?
Well, it reduces the chance that a nonBPM force can do damage to oneself, which may be a way to either be somewhat undetectable or perhaps even (nonphysically) invisible, and may be one survival strategy for situations where one encounters a much stronger (than oneself) nonBPM force.
If not undetectable, it may be a way to (perhaps only partially) demoralise the nonBPM by showing them that their attempts at nonBPM influence/harm have been ineffective.
I suspect, however, one of the main benefits could be that it leads one to philosophically consider issues such as resistance, force, strength, enduring/yielding, long term vs short term, ego (especially of strength competitions), brute resistance vs. redirection (perhaps the principles of Aikido, which I have often heard described as using an opponent’s strength/momentum against them, although Wikipedia includes “an art that practitioners could use to defend themselves while also protecting their attackers from injury”, and which might be useful as a basis for reflection here [or worth learning – I have that on my wish list] ), self-care vs. care for those one is protecting vs. care for all sentient life including one’s attacker, fight vs other ways of “winning” (such as those in “The Art of War”), and so on.
A reflection on what “winning” is could be particularly useful – especially if one considers the fact that souls are not extinguished and thus the damage one does while defending might need to be resolved between you and attackers in a future life (although the valid needs of others for protection if they do not have your skills also comes in to that), the possible need to undo any damage done by the defence techniques to bystanders (I raised this possibility back in Form 01), and Pyrrhic victories.
Now my concerns.
Firstly, as with the reflective Forms, what happens to the energy after it has passed through you?
In many situations, I am guarding others – which may involve me either literally or metaphorically being between those I am protecting and the unit(s) doing the threat, so if I let the nonBPM energy/units pass through me, my being there is rather useless.
Secondly, there is the risk of a gradual accumulation of a little bit of what one has passed through.
The counter to that is effective monitoring, both by oneself and by trusted people around you – which MUST become an effective habit if one is determined to use this technique.

That also included some suggestions on improving one’s nonphysical health, strength, and wellbeing.
I will leave this section at that for now.
If I resolve my doubts, I will post any techniques I do develop, but I will share one point now that applies also to the creation of shields/wards.
A lot of the shield/ward is, in effect, built on using opposites: the nonBPM is countered by something that is it’s BPM opposite.
Thus anger would possibly be countered by a wall of calm that dissolves the anger (Form 06) or blocks it (Form 01).
A variation on that might be to base the shield/ward on changing/transforming/re-directing/distracting the anger (Forms 02 or 04, for instance).
A refinement would be to look at the type of anger, and develop units that address that more specifically – in a very much over-simplified sense, one could see this as matching the frequencies or, a better analogy, creating matched but opposing phase wave patterns (a little like active noise control does, and a little like the bulbous bows on [mostly] large ships’ bows).
That last-mentioned refinement might be a way to achieve a safer variation of the “allow the nonBPM unit through” technique …
This Form is predominantly food-for-thought, at this stage.

Form 09 - Reverse and dissolve
Forms 01, 04, and 08 don’t reduce nonBPM energy. The others do, but: Form 02 -04 and 08 may affect others, 07 involves considerable risk to self (and that may lead to harm to others if you are harmed), 05 is static, 06 takes time (but is good against stronger forces).
The most difficult Form, which also has the greatest surety of the best result, is Form 09 - which uses projection of BPM energy/influence/units to dissolve (clear) nonBPM energy/influence/units.
This directs the energy and action most exactly to the nonBPM unit(s)/influence, and deals with what is there without sending it elsewhere.
Form 09 thus is adaptive to whatever is there, and manages the risk of side effects by addressing all the problem at the site of the problem.
It is a simple principle … but it requires good control of emotions – especially when oneself or one’s Significant Others (SOs) are hurt, possibly seriously.
It may be necessary, at times, to step out of trying to use Form 09, and get others to do the work – or at least the bulk or key parts of it.
That necessity is due to the realities of dealing with emotional challenges under stressful situations: it is, to put it mildly, difficult to generate and send love to someone who has harmed people you love.
In turn, that means it will be essential to make sure you are doing your spiritual work – especially with emotions, and shadow work.
If you do have to use this Form under situations which make it difficult to use, it may be necessary to avoid thinking of the person you are sending love to – regard them as an object or location, or some similar “trick”.
If that does not work, and no-one else can help, then you will have to use one of the other forms.
