Post No. 2,896 - Good changes at the Correllian Tradition

My first study and serious work in Wicca (as opposed to Pagan, as I now identify) was through the Correllian Tradition (website   https://www.correllian.com/ ). I’m not a member - haven’t been for quite some years now, but I appreciate what I learned, and their awareness on issues such as the   “A Spiritual War For Peace”   https://www.correllian.com/39-b.html   and   “Dominion theology”   https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dominion_theology&oldid=1250346788   (which dates back to at least around the 1980s, it seems)   , which was one of several significant influences (some dating back to the 70s and 80s) on my work for peace.

Their teachings were inclusive in a number of ways, including gender identity/sexuality, and they made efforts to address racism - particularly during the Black Lives Matter protests.

And now, from early last year, they have a First Priest who not only is black and queer, but is a mental health expert who addresses stigma, supports community and organisations development, and is a graduate of a radical, liberal arts college.

This change is, in my opinion, an excellent development for both that tradition and for the Pagan world generally, and I will be checking back in from time to time to see how the tradition and the First Priest are going.

For more information on the new First Priest, see:

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).
