Post No. 2,890 - Miscellaneous perspectives

As my first thought for this post, a comment I have read a few times in the news reports on the latest violence in West Asia is that some events were not as bad as expected - for instance, that Israel’s ground invasion into Lebanon was smaller than expected.

So, while terrible events are still occurring, and trauma and other effects are being created, they are not as bad as they could be - which is no comfort to those who are suffering, but I suspect it is still signs of some beneficial effect on the part of those who are working for a better world ... which includes those people doing the work of this blog, but also includes all those protecting, writing to elected representatives, and others doing their magickal work elsewhere.

It is, perhaps, the best that can be done in a world tainted by having the likes of Putin, Trump, and Netanyahu in power - and it should be acknowledged, and, to the extent possible, celebrated or at least welcomed.

On the other hand, I have noticed that I need to let go of tending to take other people’s decisions to not be good somewhat personally. Yes, there is work to do to contain the harm of such decisions, and to heal the victims of those people, but I need to do that work more dispassionately - not without emotion, particularly not without the emotion of love, but without being as personally upset when I see others make bad decisions, or shut themselves off from the suffering they are causing.

I will add a word spell on that to my candles in due course.

That also leads on to my next few thoughts:

  • this might be tied up with me getting closer to the end of this incarnation, and is part of preparing to move on (to an interesting spiritual work opportunity)
  • one of the problems in this world is those resisting change/enabling the nonBPM are often afraid of or uncomfortable with change: how can we get them to be comfortable? Some of that lies with parents passing on their (non-genetic) personality flaws, but some of that also lies with society more broadly, and with key people in that society; and
  • another problem is people being so focused on themself that they do not notice people with quite strengths or power doing work quietly to make the world a better place. It is almost as if some people are incapable of noticing such good if it fails to come with a brass marching band and marketing campaign - and that leads to come real damage to what the quiet ones are trying to do (which often needs peace or at least quiet to flourish).
This also brings to mind one incident I came close to including in my Complicity by Complacency post, which was when I was reviewing the design inputs for a road project (as part of a QAQC role I had), I pointed out that they also needed to list the road rules - the laws governing times to changes lanes, etc, and ... they refused! They arrogantly said “well tell Parliament to change the laws later”! The arrogance and hubris - and professional INCOMPETENCE - of those know-it-alls was appalling ... and I refused to sign off on their design inputs so was switched out of that role.

But I need to let go of their decision to not be good, and get on with my day.

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).
