As, fifty years of courageous marching after The Dismissal also ruptured the journey towards justice for First Nations Australians and two years after the Voice Referendum failed - leaving First Nations people with no national voice and a resultant relentless and unyielding status quo gap in disadvantage, the Victorian Parliamentary debate on Statewide Treaty commenced with the “Co-Chairs of the First Peoples’ Assembly telling Parliament that it marks the beginning of a new chapter — one “where everyone prospers”” and “We do this not to divide Victoria, but to complete it” (their speeches are available here and here), with the state opposition vowing to scrap Treaty “within 100 days if elected”, and proposing use of an unelected body and tweaks of the existing failed approaches (and misinformation about Gellung Warl) ... and the Treaty Bill passed in the lower House (the Legislative Assembly), with the Opposition told it wasn't too late to be a part of this, and is now expected to be debated in the upper house (the Legislative Council) around the end of this month;
