The recent violence, predominantly by police, in NSW (see here, here, here, and here) is extremely disturbing. As one of those reports mentions, some police seemed to be unhinged and aggressive.
The alleged violence by protestors has not been shown on social media: the truth of those charges will be determined in court - and, if the charges are dropped, there will be more questions for police and the NSW Premier to answer.
The actions of the NSW Premier, as a general pattern, seem to be against protests against genocide. That, the police behaviour, and the naive comments of the Prime Minister about “toning it down” given the events this is all about, raise concerns about what our governance elites and their bureaucracies feel about genocide and human rights abuses in general - they have largely been silent, or made only passing minimalist comments.
I have had a go at, and discarded, several emails to MPs and articles for here and SubStack. Nothing is quite right yet ... and I am still processing this ...More to come ... eventually, I hope* ...
