Post No. 331 - Guides, healing and communication

I had a little bit of imagery play out in my mind one idle half-second or so recently: it was lovely example of Socratic questioning where a teacher helps students to discover more about channelled energy healing (which you could think of as Reiki without the formality; sometimes this is mislabelled "spiritual healing" - mislabelled as you don't have to be spiritual .. although you are working with spirits :) ) and how to improve their abilities. Nice dialogue ... if I had the time, I'd try to write it all down, but I don't so here goes with the essence :)

We have multiple levels to our being - physical, and non-physical. The non-phsical levels are generally thought of as being on different frequencies - their fundamental rate of vibration increases as one moves "up" from etheric, to astral (lower and upper), to psychic, to mental, to spiritual, and beyond.

These levels all affect each other. Grosser examples of this influence include:
  • physical illness possibly adversely affecting our mood and mental functioning;
  • being in a good mood or inspired making it easier to function physically.
Healing comes through at a non-physical level (any of the non-physical levels, and possibly more than one at once), and starts improving the non-physical levels - including the etheric, which is the level most commonly worked on by shamanism (although shamanism can reach other levels as well -particularly when doing soul retrievals). This variance in frequency of healing energy is one of the reasons that people may feel or feel any sensations of warmth or flow. If for instance, a patient is "expecting" healing to come through on the upper astral level (the frequency of the heart chakra), which can happen because of things like - wrong - assumptions that one has to be loving to do healing, and the patient is expecting healing to come through on an etheric level, both may miss the healing going through on the lower astral frequency - the frequency of self-focused emotions. So ... first thing to improving your healing is to be aware of where your, and your patient's, psychic focus is, and where your Guides are actually directing the energy: three completely separate matters.

You can't necessarily do anything about where your patient's focus is, although in some cases it may help to talk to your patient about what is happening and why they may not feel it IF your patient is tense and blocking healing because of their worry over not feeling anything. Do NOT make the mistake of having this sort of conversation out of ego - the "I'm smart and know how to be psychic and you don't" sort of rubbish that some get caught up in, or the related "I'm psychic and I'm going to show it off". Your function is not to massage your ego; your function is to make your patient better - not to help them "just" feel better, but to realistically BE better. Will the conversation help that goal?

So ... moving on to: increasing our capacity to channel energy.

I've posted about this previously, but it may be useful to cover the principle from a different point of view.

Now increasing our capacity to handle energy on lower levels (e.g., I prepare for healing by doing shiatsu on my lower arms) is both a statement of intent, and an action that will have some impact on our higher frequency bodies (in my case, my guides seem to bring healing in at about my elbows - see the diagram included in this post), but for some it comes in elsewhere.

So ... how to use this? Well, try the following techniques with a partner: do one technique on one hand, and see if your partner (who must not have seen what has been done - see here) can notice any difference. Try a range of techniques, hands AND PARTNERS, and see what works over time, and then refine to see what works with different moods etc.

The techniques to consider trying are:
  • shiatsu;
  • massage (on you, as part of your preparation);
  • colour visualisation (try different visualisations);
  • pendulum chakra balancing on hands/all arm joints/main chakras;
  • meditation, different wordings of prayer to your guides;
  • anything else you or those you are working with can sensibly think of.
Advanced techniques could include moving the assemblage point to various locations (breath to build up energy and use that to push the assemblage point).

Now ... communication with Guides.

The "standard" way people develop this is by means of meditation. That's good - the technique has been shown (although NOT through scientific surveys) to work reasonably well. However, something to keep in mind here is that your Guides are not a new addition to your life: they've been with you, helping you, since you were born (actually, from a little before then). Whatever techniques you have found work best at resolving issues/problems for you are probably the ways that your Guides ave already developed that work best with you.

So ... say you find it best to sleep on a problem - to go to bed thinking about something, and see what ideas you wake up with. That suggests you are probably a sleep state medium such as Edgar Cayce or Allison DuBois: meditation would work best for you if it was done in such a way that replicated going to sleep, perhaps. Alternatively, you may be someone who needs to pace and let the ideas revolve and sort themselves out: don't sit to meditate, do a moving form, perhaps Tai Chi, or perhaps just do your pacing with a curiosity about which thoughts could be yours, and which your Guides. Or ... maybe you need to garden or go bush or get out on the water (hmmm ... water): then perhaps try to communicate with your Guides while walking or having a shower.

I consider the meditation technique to have advantages, but as an easy first step, I suggest you look at what you already have in your life, and use that to your advantage.

There is a third aspect to all this: the healer acting as a step down transformer. In a sense, the guides are at one frequency of reality, and our physical body is at another. The guides are capable of putting energy in, but having a healer present seems to add some value to this, so I suspect we healers act a little like step down transformers - which change from a very high voltage power supply, to a lower voltage. (Power is often transmitted from the power station at a higher voltage as that involves lower currents and less losses along the way. In the case of healing, what is changing is the frequency of the healing energy, not necessarily the "voltage".)

How do we improve our ability to act as a step down transformer, or a conduit between physical and the Guides? Again, the same principle applies as with my two previous points: try various techniques, and see what actually works best, but keep in mind that different techniques may work better for different people or circumstances, and, as you change and develop, so too may the issue of what is the best technique change and develop, so be flexible.

Techniques to consider trying include:
  • meditating before healing, even if briefly, to establish a better awareness of your Guides and the nonphysical frequencies they are on;
  • try, with the assistance of your Guides, bringing energy in at one chakra (each chakra operates at a different frequency), and have it travel from that chakra to another and then down your arms to the patient (e.g., in the crown chakra and out the solar plexus chakra to heal a person on the lower astral, or self-focused emotion level, or in the solar plexus chakra and possibly our at the heart chakra to help a patient shift from self focused emotions to more loving and selfless emotions, or in at the crown chakra and out the throat chakra to help a patient speak out or express themselves in their life "better");and
  • anything else your Guides may suggest.

By the way, when you work with 13 chakras, as I do, the combinations that are possible are quite numerous ... Also, you may not necessarily bring an enrgy into yourself through the chakra. That often is the most efficient place, but it is not the only choice: as I indicated previously, my Balanced Positive Guides* often bring the energy in through my lower arms, or my shoulders.

* I've been thinking on terminology, and have just decided that I will use "Balanced Positive", rather than DLF.

Now, as a final point, I recently took part in a guided meditation where I received some information about three of my guides. Working through that information helped me to realise that, when I knew those Guides when they were incarnated (as two males and a female, in the US state of Idaho in the late 1800s), they were living as a triad. Now, I have the feeling that multiple partners were not entirely unknown of in those times, but it was unusual for the situation to involve two men and one woman, and rarer still that the men were involved with each other. These guides have come through to help me with quite a few things, but one of those tasks is with polyamory.
