Post No. 455 - Another unco-op

Well, as I begin this post, on another lovely foggy winter's morning, I've just spent forty minutes clearing ("doing a spirit rescue on") a major uncooperative, one who, through a network, was influencing dozens of people. It was just as well I've had a week off, and it took quite an effort. It would have been easier if I had my crystals, but using the alternate nostril breathing technique is a useful substitute. Interestingly enough, I normally do those breaths in sets of eleven, for numerological reasons: this time I stopped at 27, which is 3 cubed (i.e., 3 x 3 x 3). I'll have to meditate on that.

It might be useful to review the way I did this clearing. Firstly, I kept myself as safe as possible - not just by asking for and checking that I had BPF [1] protection, but also by making myself as undetectable as possible: not invisible (astrally) as much as not noticeable to the uncooperative I had been told to clear. How to do that is something that is far too complicated for me to try and explain in a post like this. If you want to know more, ask your BPF Guides to show you more in your sleep state - and they will no doubt show you a technique that is better suited to you than what I use for me, any way :)

Next, I have to get in to how I found the uncooperative - which is by noticing the influence he (in this case - could also have presented as female, or neither, or both) was having on people. I began this session by meditating on that, and found a forest of links from the physical plane to the spirit realms. Now, in actual fact this sort of dimensional influence doesn't really have a physical direction, but my mind interpreting the influence that way is convenient - particularly as it opened the way for me to start working on the uncooperative by weakening his influence on those affected. I did this by using the standard link clearing technique, which is to send light through the link to both ends, and I also had my BPF Guides talk to the BPF Guides of those affected, and get friends of the victims to think fondly of the victim and their better traits before they came under control of this entity.

Leaving the physical for a while, the light going "up" the links didn't go directly to the target uncooperative: it went to those in a whole network of other entities - mostly earthbound - and we had to clear around half this network before I could begin clearing the negative energy from the uncooperative. Initially, this was just dissolving scoops and bucketloads of sticky, icky, murky (negative) energy, and also sending massive loads to Spirit for clearing (which is mostly in such cases dissolving, and some transformation). Hatred, fear, pain - all these sorts of things are energies that can be seen (through psychic means - possibly clairsentience rather than clairvoyance), and if it can be "seen", it can be managed - in this case, cleared.

As we worked through the non-physical parts of this network, we also brought in people from spirit to think of the good aspects of those in the network people (spirits) who knew those being cleared, and were in a position to think well of them with credibility.

When we (meaning I and the other who work with me) finished, the entity needed some guidance around how to manage guilt at what he had done before he would move into the light. Guilt at wrongdoing is a very misunderstood and underplayed (indeed, treated with contempt, even) emotion as far as many who seek to be BPF are concerned: such dismissiveness of it shows how little they acknowledge of their own guilt, I rather suspect, and never helps with the situation of transforming someone from negative to BPF.

The entity had deeper issues to manage, the pain that had led him to this path, which was basically having been bullied, abused and treated abysmally by others when he was alive - to the extent that he became consumed by the desire for revenge. Those issues were too deep seated to deal with in this rescue, and would have to wait until he had passed over. Healing and BPF Guidance was also required for those in his network, and those affected on the physical (via sleep state, if need be), but it worth reflecting that all the Queenbees and Wannabees and Alpha males and bullies (workplace, school or other) out there ... this sort of entity is the legacy you are creating. Their "evil" is a direct result of your evil.

Something I was thinking of recently was the arbitrariness of celebrating birthdays, and how I would rather celebrate when I had accomplished something and felt like celebrating. This is one of those occasions ...

Post No. 454 - Holiday Rambles

As I start writing this, I am on  a one week break from work, enjoying a lovely winter's morning, with a morning temperature of -1 degrees C and a fog - the sort of fog that has inspired me to draw, in the past. It's a time for me to both slow down, in that I have a break from my day job, and also to focus on what I want, including my midwinter pruning of figs, roses and sundry other plants, and my reporting of others. That focus on what I want to do is why I will slowly work at this post as well. One of the other things I will SLOWLY work at is updating my blogiography - the short cut I thought I'd found some time ago didn't work, so I've had to go back to the slower method of updating it, and that takes time - obviously :) I've worked at coming up with a simple listing of what's there at the moment, but to find any but the first couple of hundred posts you'll have to do an Internet search using gnwmythr + the title of the post.

Still, the journey of a thousand miles begins with single step, and I've got a few long term projects, including writing, teaching and changing the world :)

Oh, on writing, I've been working at summarising my use of runes into a spreadsheet, and here's some of the initial results:

On that, one of the sets of candles I light regularly is for respectful political debate in Australia. It's a bit problem in a lot of places, but this is where I live, so this is where I have greatest chance of success.

Why hasn't it worked?

Well, apart from lack of time, basically, because I have several million misogynists in Australia who are giving vent to their feelings of insecurity (i.e., giving vent to their sexism - and there are some women in that group) and thereby actively opposing what I am seeking to do. Just last week I had an argument with someone at work who was, through his incompetence at dealing with human things like emotions, trying to argue that one person's word against another meant that rapists could not be found guilty. I've been actively campaigning for some awareness training around diversity at work for a few years now, and this was yet another example of where it is needed. It's also needed at the local supermarket that I used to go to, but after multiple complaints that have been treated glibly, and a failure for them to acknowledge that their SYSTEMS need to be changed, I now shop elsewhere (I was too exhausted to take this to formal action, although I did discuss the matter with the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission). At least in the case of the company I work for, they're implementing the training this week (thereby catching up with other companies I've worked for that have been doing such for years).

The force of millions of untrained minds is the way of things in a lot of cases - public sentiment creates a vast psychic force, and in a lot of cases, that force is baleful. Former PM John Howard's deliberate manipulation and increase of community fear around refuges is one of the clearest, most evil examples of that which I can think of, but I see it also every time I see people in the street baying for the blood of a criminal. I can understand and empathise with them quite often, ESPECIALLY when the crimes have been committed against children, but such attitudes:
   (a) fail to recognise that the hate being expressed against the criminal is often largely about their own inner fears;
   (b) fail to recognise that EVERYONE has good AND bad within them, and often it is just a case of how provocation is required before the "bad" comes out (in other words, everyone - well, almost everyone: there are a FEW, very few, less than a double handful, of advanced souls in the world who have moved beyond this particular flaw - is capable of murder);
   (c) fail to recognise that reincarnation is real, and therefore everyone goes through the whole range of human experience in order to learn, and may well have committed the same or similar crime in a recent life (in fact, it is often the case that such is uncomfortably close from the perspective of the person's Higher Self / Soul / Spirit, and the reaction is partly denial over their own history).

These sorts of reasons are why I am deliberately - and openly  working on changing the Group Mind of humanity, and particular subsets of people. It is also one of the reasons that my favourite action movie of all time is Gandhi [2]. Action movie? Yes - I'll explain, but first, in the context of the current point, this film is about the ability that one person, Mohandas K. Gandhi, had to inspire and change the Group Mind of an entire subcontinent - the place that is now India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

I don't have the same ability, but I am using what I do have, as best I can.

On that, it is a shame that so few recognise that our own Innermost Essence, which is our Higher Self / Soul / Spirit, has the power to do so much. Actually, perhaps we do ... One of the basics of serious spiritual / psychic work is that the greatest work is that which we do on ourself - the changes and improvements we make, our quest to be all that we can be, and so forth. To many people, that seems almost trivial, in the face of the challenges that exist in this world, and yet it is only by self mastery that we are able to access the powers of our Higher Self / Soul / Spirit, which is actively participating in the creation and sustenance of this physical reality, and thus become able to accomplish that which seems miraculous. I suspect that we are aware, in some mote of our unconscious, of what it is our Higher Self / Soul / Spirit is capable of and IS doing, and that is why we seem inclined to consider Self Mastery to trivial - which is a bit like the child who sees an adult spending money to buy toys, and fails to recognise the daily grind of work which has led to having the money.

If I can put that last paragraph into a natty little sentence, I'm going to add it to my signature block :)

(Just have :) )

Now, why is Gandhi an action movie?

OK, the associations I and many others have of action movies is that they have lots of things happening, and there is lots of violence. Well, there is a MASSIVE amount happening in the Gandhi movie, but it is stuff about the development of Gandhi (he changes quite a bit through the film) and of those living on the subcontinent generally - including at least some of the occupying. In terms of violence, whilst it is not glorified as it is in many action movies, there is a lot of violence in the film. Millions died during the events which occurred over the half century or so that is portrayed in this film. (The partition of India  "displaced up to 12.5 million people with estimates of loss of life varying from several hundred thousand to a million "most estimates of the numbers of people who crossed the boundaries between India and Pakistan in 1947 range between 10 and 12 million" - from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partition_of_India. [2] )

The difference between the action movie Gandhi and other action movies, is that Gandhi portrays the violence more realistically (not more graphically), in that it show the human effects of that violence.

On that, I find many dramas appallingly and distressingly violent films - the violence is emotional, but it is violence nevertheless, and a violence that many people have to live through in their everyday lives. I find it particularly frustrating that many of the dramas I've seen fail to resolve issues properly in the film, and leave one focused on injustice, and can lead to a view that "it never turns out alright - something ALWAYS goes wrong".

I loathe many dramas almost as much as I loathe the stereotypical action movie - and for similar reasons.

I guess not too many movie people believe in spiritual evolution - or maybe, if they do, the weight of public opinion (i.e., the money that people will spend on seeing movies, which is largely about seeing something that creates an illusion of power, as opposed to that which creates the reality of Spiritual Power) stops them doing what they would like to ...

None of which should be taken as being supportive of the typical religious film, most of which are either Christian, or sensationalist.

On that, I recently read a post on the ABC's Religion and Ethics page which suggested that it was Christianity which acted to sanctify life, and that the loss of Christianity and, by implication, resurgence of paganism, which had led to wars in recent times.

Bollocks.

Ever hear of the Crusades?

What about the Inquisition - which persists this very day as the euphemistically titled Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the actions of which are now curtailed by law.

No, if you want to look at what has led to the increase regard for the sanctity of life (and that is the case in Western societies, where death rates from violence are about 50 times lower than they were in the Middle Ages and Dark Ages [sorry - I've lost the link to that article over the years since I first read it]), then look at things like the development of our legal systems over the last millennia, including the development of police forces. Look at the debates around abolition of the death penalty, which includes one UK politician (I think - might have been a judge) pointing out, a bit over a century or so ago (I think), that, if you want to teach people to have respect for life, the Government has to set the scene by demonstrating respect for life - and that means no death penalty.

Look also at scientific and philosophical revolutions in the last half millennia - in fact, generally look at the influences of Tyr (especially on social justice systems), P’tah (particularly on science), Cerridwen (on social welfare) and other Goddesses and Gods whose hands I can see at work here.

Christianity led to a revolutionary respect for the sanctity of life and love of peace?

I say again, bollocks.

Part of the problem here is around labels - names, if you will. The original message of love that Christ taught is indeed admirable, noble and spiritually worthy. The problem is the neo-Christian churches which grew up around and warped Christ's message - which is something I've written about elsewhere. As Gandhi is reported to have said "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." I can relate to that - it is a good part of the reason I started exploring non-conventional spiritual pathways as a child.

On the issue of names or labels, I have to say I find them generally clumsy. I tend to think of a person's energy signature or imprint, more so than the label, and it sometimes takes an effort of will to bring myself back into focus on social conventions and remember to use the clumsy and imperfect thing that we call "names". I suspect that is one of the reasons my mediumship does not extend to channelling superficial physical world names. (Must see if I can channel spirit names, perhaps ... )

OK, that's enough rambling for now. I have more I wish to write about, but this post has become long enough as it is :)

Post No. 453 - Afterlife and reading

Recently, The Wild Hunt had a post asking what happens in terms of an afterlife from a pagan perspective. Well, my understanding is that Druidry includes a belief in reincarnation - as does the Tel'Ennyn Asur and some other specific paths. Fortunately for me personally, I've not only been a pagan: I've also had experience with Spiritualism, which I consider the premier religion / faith / path when it comes to consideration of the afterlife - experience which is also consistent with sources such as Near Death Experiences [2] - see also http://iands.org/home.html, and a range of New Age authors (e.g. see here). So, I am a pagan who DOES know what happens after death, and it is more complex than just having one single level of reality that people all go to: there are multiple levels of non-physical existence, and we go to possibly more than one as we heal after our most recent incarnation, until we eventually get a level where we make, with BPF Guidance (mostly from our own Higher Self), about whether we return, move on, stay a while and then return / move on, and so on.

Maybe that uncertainty around death is a flaw in those forms of paganism that the post author has come across or follows, but not so for all pagan paths. Still, it is s topic and post well worth thinking about to determine what YOU believe (or know!) ...

And here's a few other links to hopefully help the thinkin' along ...

Post No. 452 - A personal (minor) "wow"

Wow - I've got there. Where, do I hear you ask? Well, no, I don't actually literally hear that, but I'll explain anyway :)

I've just attained 10,000 views of my blogs since the statistics tool became available - and I started to use it, which was actually a little bit after it had become available.

One of the pleasures which has kept me working at this blog is knowing that other people are looking at it. I don't get anything specific: I don't if people looking at the blog like it or not, but I do know that I have a certain number of views from a particular country in a particular period (I can select day, week month and "all time", which really only goes back to when I started using this particular tool), and I find it absolutely fascinating to see what countries people are viewing this blog from. I celebrate when I see another nation in the list of places where my audience (Blogger's term, not mine) is located.

I know 10,000 views over several years makes me a minnow in the world of the Internet, but it does tend to make me feel that my efforts are not totally wasted (not totally as organised as I would like yet, but I'm working on that as time, energy and health permit :) ).

Now for 100,000 views ... :)

Post No. 451 - An Alternative (pagan-ish) History of the World

Let's tell a history of the world ...

Once upon time Spirit / The Goddess / The Universe / The Light Behind All Deities decided to do some more learning / growing, for which more experience was necessary. The problem was that in "the void" / the astral, everything was in harmony - you were automatically close to those who were on the same wave length as yourself, and never came across anyone who was different. So, Spirit / The Goddess / The Universe / The Light Behind All Deities decided, in the interests of learning, to create a world where it was possible to be in the presence of those you were in disharmony with.

It was quite a novel concept, and, if it worked as intended, should strengthen the unity of the Spirit / The Goddess / The Universe / The Light Behind All Deities, as all the disparate bits of the Spirit / The Goddess / The Universe / The Light Behind All Deities would be better able to tolerate/accept and work with the other bits of the Spirit / The Goddess / The Universe / The Light Behind All Deities. It would be quite a step forward for the disparate bits to even be aware of each other, for a start.

So Spirit / The Goddess / The Universe / The Light Behind All Deities went ahead and created this physical level of reality. It was a bit of a bang of an event, actually, but let’s skip ahead to when one little part of this physical reality, the Planet Earth, was developing a bipedal organism with the capacity to shape the environment and, eventually, move off the planet and thus survive any future planetary killing asteroids. For reasons based on the nature of the rules that Spirit / The Goddess / The Universe / The Light Behind All Deities had created as part of this physical reality, the bipedal organism used two sexes to reproduce, thereby mixing bits of the parental organisms and allowing change which, when successful, would lead to evolution. When unsuccessful, the change would become a candidate for a Darwin Award ...

All well and good, except for the short sightedness - metaphorically, as their physical eyesight (and other senses) was quite outstanding at that time - of the bipeds, who started building up all sorts of rules around - well, nothing, really.

At the time that the bipeds were developing all these rules, they were living as gatherer-hunters. There weren't very many of them, and they were feeling fairly insecure about that lack, so they decided to set about making sure there would be lots more of them. It took what they thought was a fairly long time for a new biped to be born after conception, so they started building up their rules around protecting what they would later refer to, when they domesticated other lifeforms, as "breeding stock".

Of course, in doing so, they started losing some of the tolerance of diversity that was the whole point of this physical reality coming into existence, but sometimes you just can't argue with a biped that is armed with a sharp stick, a thick head and not too much in the way of grunts.

Some of them were really struggling with this whole being-in-contact-with-things-that-weren't-in-harmony-with-them thing, and started behaving quite badly. Some of it was petty - jealousy and the like; some of it was worse, and included attempts at changing or controlling others, which led to some quite nasty behaviours that would later be described - when the bipeds had extended their range of grunts to include this particular sequence of sounds - as "evil". Those attempts at changing or controlling others included the formation of stereotypes - some of which were based on generalities, but all of which failed to take account of the wonderful diversity that is one of the key wonders of this Universe generally, including this physical reality and life as sub-sets of the Universe which also feature diversity as one of their key wonders.

This was most noticeable, perhaps, with regard to those bipeds who had the view that bipeds who could potentially bear bipedlets should not be hunting, they should gathering and grunting in a coo-like manner over bipedlets, whether they wanted to or not. Maybe this was part of the whole problem of bits of Spirit getting put into physical bodies which could, for want of a better term, die - they started looking at the surface, rather than the Spirit.

Of course it wasn't helped by those potentially-bipedlet-bearing-bipeds who decided they rather liked the idea of being looked after, and got quite pernickety, despite that word not having been invented yet, and started frowning upon - and worse - other potentially-bipedlet-bearing-bipeds who wanted to do outrageous things like hunting. And everyone frowned upon - and worse - those bipeds who couldn't potentially bear bipedlets who didn't want to hunt.

That didn't apply everywhere, though. From time to time, various groups of bipeds would "get it together", as some future bipeds would grunt, and be tolerant of difference, and maybe do things like domesticate fire, refine the manufacture and use of tools, domesticate quadrupeds, "invent" agriculture, and domesticate other bipeds - also known as "invent civilisation", which can be rather nice when done well.

Of course, sadly, at this time bipeds also started to discover that sometimes you just can't argue with a biped that is armed with a sharp stick, a thick head and not too much in the way of grunts - and promptly started attempting to do exactly that, with much effort devoted to getting sharper or bigger sticks and things like rocks, and recording or worshipping or both whatever biped had won what they would later refer to as "war". Groups of bipeds also even refined their grunts into languages so they could fail to understand other groups of bipeds entirely.

Now, one of the aspects of reality is that of a spiritual hierarchy: as well as Spirit / The Goddess / The Universe / The Light Behind All Deities, there are gods and goddesses of varying experience and power. There are also Manu’s in charge of groups and spirits in places, and the larger Spirit that inhabits the planet itself, called by some Sanat Kumara and by others Gaea. It's all a bit like a public service bureaucracy, except this one works and is user friendly - largely. One of the gods, a Canaanite hill spirit originally, would get quite uppity and have himself declared The One True God, and try to get all the other gods and goddesses kicked out of this particular planet, but that's a little down the track.

All very confusing, and what makes it worse - and is not widely known - is that all these gods and goddesses and Manu’s and spirits are also, as with the bipeds and quadrupeds and non-peds in this physical level of reality, learning and growing. In fact, you may recall that this whole mess was created because Spirit / The Goddess / The Universe / The Light Behind All Deities wanted to do a bit more growing/learning. Sadly, growth and learning is not always at a constant rate, nor even always in the right direction ... In fact, it got to the stage where one group of bipeds, a few centuries before the Canaanite hill spirit who had got all uppity warped the work of a very evolved soul who incarnated as a Jewish lad, decided to sack the whole working and user friendly bureaucracy and try something they called "Buddhism", which was also tried nearly two millennia later as "Humanism", after "Buddhism" had developed rather a lot of rules.

It is to be wondered whether or not at times various gods / goddesses / Spirit / The Goddess / The Universe / The Light Behind All Deities would wonder about scratching out all this lot, and trying again ... Hmmm ... Maybe they did, and found that they have to try to make it work or the bipeds will keep on making the same mistakes ...

It is known that some bipeds thought about scratching out all this lot from time to time, and some of the few vaguely almost justifiable conflicts have been against those who tried to do this, or to assert control in a nasty way over other bipeds.

One of the most recent of these was known as "the Second World War". It was a horribly destructive thing that killed a few per cent of the bipeds and bipedlets (far distant - in time - conflicts had actually killed higher percentages of the world's population of bipeds and bipedlets, but they had tended to be located in one part of the world), and its causes could be traced to how the previous "World War", the so-called "Great War" or "War to Finish All Wars", had finished, and led to some very destructive changes in technology (not just the thing the bipeds called the atomic bomb - other changes as well), and more changes in social structure - as had the previous "World War" (both of which, incidentally, did not actually include every single "nation" on the planet), but this particular whole sequence was thought by a few to mark a failure of the collective biped population to choose an opportunity of evolving to a better world.

As with all wars, both of these were marked by conflicts in non-physical realms. Almost all the various gods / goddesses / Manu's / etc were involved in trying to settle things down to some extent, but owing to the successes of the uppity Canaanite hill spirit, almost all of it got interpreted from the view of the religion the uppity Canaanite hill spirit had created out of the work of the evolved soul who incarnated as a Jewish lad almost two millennia previously. Bit of a biped-use-of-extremities-to-adversely-affect-biped-core (also known as "a kick in the guts") really, but the other gods / goddesses / Manu's / etc have had some success since "the Second World War" in reminding the bipeds that they do actually exist.

Mind you, a lot of the bipeds are still not noticing the lessons about evolving and growing and working with other bipeds and gods / goddesses / Manu's / etc and Spirit / The Goddess / The Universe / The Light Behind All Deities, but some of the bipeds and most, if not almost all of the gods / goddesses / Manu's / etc and Spirit / The Goddess / The Universe / The Light Behind All Deities are quietly confident that, given enough time and planets, the bipeds will get there ... they're all just hoping it will be THIS planet in the not-too-distant-future, so they can all Happily Evolve Ever After.

The End - of this telling of the story So Far.

Post No. 450 - A Frustration

One of the things that I have observed, is that it SEEMS to me, at times, that some pagans are too self absorbed, and not interested enough in doing work that is of benefit to others. Of course, that is equally a matter I can lay at the doors of other religions, and is, in fact, one of the major reasons I no longer count myself as Christian or Buddhist. Furthermore, I know that there are pagans who DO care about others - apart from this post at the Wild Hunt, there is T Thorn Coyle, who I found very refreshing, and other pagans I have known personally who are committed to activism (Diolch, Cariad *mwa - and also see here) and to things like fundraising (Hi N), but where are the pagan websites that are the equivalent of, say, the World Goodwill Full Moon meditation groups, which raise and send energy to the world for its betterment, or of the Lucis Foundation's Triangles network?

I've tried to do things like setting up "diagnoses" of the world's energy so people can know where to send energy (oops - can't find where I was posting those ... but I've copied one in after this paragraph), posting rituals aimed at helping others / the world (e.g. - see here and here; this was, I have to admit, successful when I was helping to run an online Wiccan network based on a crystal network), getting pagans to commit to peace (also see here and here), but nothing seems to have really taken off.

I think the three centres of paganism, posted at http://allergicpagan.wordpress.com/2012/05/23/the-three-or-more-centers-of-paganism/ and first linked to  in my previous post, promotes some useful reflection on this ... but, having done that reflecting :) , where are the pagans advocating for the use of magic to make the world a better place, for cures to world hunger and thirst, and poverty, and homelessness, and so on (where are they apart from here, I mean!)

Post No. 449 - A Saturday morning's reflections ...

When I started down the path of serious use of psychic abilities (for the purpose of making the world a better place), I was told that it is not possible to use these powers for financial self gain.

Well, that's not quite true: I've never been able to use this for personal gain, other than charging people for some of the help I've given, so I haven't, for example, got any major lottery wins (hmmm ... actually, I can't recall even trying that one), but I've seen someone who was a gambling addict use, or try to use, a modest amount of psychic ability he had to influence the pokies. He had no major wins, but my impression is that he would occasionally have a minor win as a result of his efforts. (I also have seen, incidentally, two people lose their homes through the pokies, so I would not recommend trying this!)

I've also met people who have had wins at the pokies and on the lottery (same person - she bought a house with the first lottery win, and a house for her daughter with the second, but kept working - not enough won to give up that, and would continue to have occasional wins of a few thousand dollars on the pokies). She is not psychic, nor even particularly spiritual, so what gives?

Well, I think what gives is that people (a) get opportunbities sometimes as a test to see what they will do with them, and (b) sometimes seem to be very lucky as that is how they have chosen to have their (good) karma return to them. I'm happy to have my good karma return to me in the place and circumstances of my birth, etc, rather than through winning riches which may mean I later don't have enough good karma to prevent, say, a major cancer.

No doubt that winning karma could be useful, but getting a better job (less stress, rather than more money) would probably be more apt than a lotto win.

I still feel that use of any psychic ability to change the Universe so that I get money through a win would be wrong. In much the same way that I like candles to the rune Fehu for the financial well being of my family, perhaps it is a case of this being a test of other people's caring ... I am a little more inclined towards this being the same as the reason I don't interfere with the weather too much: if I, say, make it rain where I live, that may stop people who have a greater need for water from getting the rain they needed. If I actively manifest money for me through something like a lottery win, is that perhaps stopping a family where no-one has a job getting a much needed win for, perhaps, a child who has an illness?

There is an element of not being too focused on oneself here, which leads me to a very interesting post I came across recently on how to classify or explain paganism in terms of whether the focus is on the person, nature or the deities. Well worth a read: http://allergicpagan.wordpress.com/2012/05/23/the-three-or-more-centers-of-paganism/.

I have to say, sometimes I read some of these brilliant posts and feel somewhat intimidated about my own, ad hoc, patchy, casual, this-is-me-struggling-with-my-life-at-times blog ... ah well, that's nothing a block or two of chocolate won't fix :) Here are a few more links:

Now, I am working on a post which will be an alternative, pagan focused history of the world. I'm not quite done, and it will be a separate post, but here's what I've come up with so far:

Let's tell a history of the world ...

Once upon time Spirit / The Goddess decided to do some more learning / growing, for which more experience was necessary. The problem was that in "the void" / the astral, everything was in harmony - you were automatically close to those who were on the same wave length as yourself, and never came across anyone who was different. So, Spirit / The Goddess decided, in the interests of learning, to create a world where it was possible to be in the presence of those you were in disharmony with.

It was quite a novel concept, and, if it worked as intended, should strengthen the unity of the Universe / The Goddess, as all the disparate bits of the Universe / The Goddess would be better able to tolerate/accept and work with the other bits of the Universe / The Goddess.
