This powerful quote is from one of the nicest short stories I’ve read in a long time: “The Kindness of Cats”, by R.R. Virdi.
“There are many forms of poverty in the world, but no few so bad as those poor in heart.”
I have also enjoyed the other stories I’ve read - out of order, including “Fugitive”, by Jim Butcher, and “Junkyard Rex”, by Sam Knight, and am about to start “Nine”, by one of my favourite authors: Seanan McGuire.
I'm also sure I will enjoy many, if not most, of the other short stories.
The book is worth considering purchasing (it is to raise funds for a no-kill shelter for puppies in the USA).
