Post No. 1,592 - thoughts on "turning your magic all the way up"

One of the blogs I regularly follow is that of John Beckett, who recently had a post "It’s Time to Turn Your Magic Up", which was itself a response to a post titled "Living the Liminal: What If You Turned Your Magick All the Way On?".

Well, I've been thinking about that, and doing some more work on future posts in the "magickal battle of the world series", and have decided to do a post now on part of psychic grand strategy.

Let me begin with a few basic points.

Firstly, my opinion is that the purpose of the Universe is growth - spiritual growth. Some of us learn more slowly than others, and have to learn to be less judgemental/take care of things/etc, so the physical level of existence was created to get us to stop avoiding unpleasant truths - and, as the world currently is, that includes "not being racist and being anti-racist". I'll come back to that, but for now, two key takeaways are:
  1. This does not mean everything is supposed to be easy or pleasant all the time, although it is certainly meant to be better than it currently is on this world - and that refers to problems such as greed, selfishness, inequity, poverty, all forms of bigotry, etc;
  2. the underlying "goodness" of the Universe is inherent and unlimited, but the "bad", including the smaller subset that does deserve the epithet of "evil", is, no matter that it can be vast enough to subsume an entire planet, on a universal scale, limited by comparison.
In terms of psychic work, souls aren't destroyed: they are eternal. So, given that they're going to be around for a while, yours and others, instead of perpetuating vengeance and harm, it is well worth spending a moment or three considering moving to a long lasting, equitable and fair (that just lost the neolibs), respectful (that just lost the white supremacists), healing and healthy (that just lost the stereotypically macho people, whether male, female, or other) way of existing and relating to others.

That includes trying to bring out the best in others.

As always, I'm going to qualify that by saying that, if someone is actively harming others, you do not forget that, and you make sure the person doing the active harm is stopped from doing so. To some extent, this is a numbers game: you can harm 1 person by amount X, or allow that person to harm multiple others by amount Y each. In psychic matters, you can choose to use constructive ways to stop that person - you DON'T have to be like a police officer choosing to shoot someone on a pretext.

However, as Paul K Chappell writes (see here), it is possible to learn from the military, and to adapt and use their terminology and techniques for peace - which is NOT the same as "use against them", which simply perpetuates the problem under a moralistic, "holier than thou" umbrella of arrogance.

Now, a diversion into military and grand strategy.

One of the battles in World War (part) One that is often considered a failure, because of the slaughter involved, is the Battle of the Somme. All war is terrible, as a famous racist confederate general in the US said during their civil war, but in this case, the slaughter on the Somme helped to ease the pressure on the French at Verdun - an also and possibly even bloodier battle.

Now, whether the death and suffering - some of it life long - at one was enough to balance the death and suffering - some of it life long - at another is something I'm not sure of, but the Germans could not keep feeding troops into the battle at Verdun and also fight the British on the Somme.

There was also an offensive by the Russians on the eastern front which relieved some of the German military pressure on both Verdun and the Somme.

Note: "relieved some of the pressure" - it didn't make it easy, it made it conceivable that the terrible pressure could be withstood and a way found to end the slaughter and suffering.

There are other examples of this - such as the Russians urging the Allies in World War (part) Two to open a Western Front and thus take the pressure off them (most deaths were in Russia and China), and US General Grant's decision to use coordinated attacks in the east and the west to prevent the racist, slave supporting rebels being able to reinforce one or the other.

Now, in terms of psychic contests, the struggle is for hearts and minds, not physical lives or territory. If you force, otherwise coerce or control someone into a sham change of heart, you have lost, not won; if you leave someone more hateful, you have again lost, not won; if you leave someone lacking in understanding, you have lost, not won.

On the other hand, if you manage to reach someone and get them to understand that they have been harming others, or they have been biased (whether conscious or unconscious is immaterial), or they do have an unearned advantage (nicer way of saying privilege), you have won.

The protests in the USA now are a quest to win the hearts and minds of enough people in power for the true assertion "Black Lives Matter" to be made manifest - for police to stop killing and harassing black people, for society to stop being actively racist, and for people, groups and society to start being anti-racist.

The benefits of action do not lie only in the USA. Others outside the USA are addressing the same sort of problems in other nations (especially mine), and working to support those everywhere who are seeking to right the evil wrong that is racism.

This action also applies to psychic work, as mentioned in the articles I mentioned at the start of this post.

Everyone, no matter where they are, can act to strengthen and heal those working for the betterment of people and society, and to clear (weaken) all physical and nonphysical "units" that are working, whether they realise it or not, to harm people and society and, indeed, the entire planet and all life.

Furthermore, by so many of us working at the same or similar times, we can overwhelm the networks of hate - many of which are psychic.

To refer back to war for a moment, part of the thinking behind the German Blitz on London and the British bombing of Germany was to start so many fires they would overwhelm firefighting services. In this instance, we're seeking to overwhelm the capacity to sustain hate - which demands energy, part of the reason it is so debilitating - with at least neutrality and open-mindedness, and hopefully positive regard.

There are issues around doing work at the same time (i.e., coordinated around the world), or at the same local time - which creates a wave that rolls around the world. Normally I favour the latter, but, in this instance, where so much is happening in so many places around the world, it is a moot point.

For my part, I'm trying to light online candles to bring in particular elemental influences at particular times of the day on the US east coast (e.g., see here, here, here, here, and here - and I'm hoping I've got the time conversion right).

I'm also doing my normal clearing and other psychic work.

For the overwhelming majority of my life I have been attacked by others for a whole range of reasons (look up intersectionality, and you'll possibly start getting a sense of the scope of this); for significant parts of my psychic life, I have been felt or been viewed by others as cannon fodder (and one of my early teachers actually said that to me), or dissed because I didn't fit into other people's ideas around how psychic/spiritual work "should" be done.

Well, if I'm cannon fodder, at least while someone is hating me, they're unlikely to be focused on hating someone else, who may be more vulnerable than I am.

It's still important not to let that hater win, which can occur by me becoming a hater in return, but I've generally found that if I can outlast a hater - which may take years, they'll eventually get tired of hating, and start to come round. (Me continuing to make the hater uncomfortable is NOT me succumbing to evil, but I've had a few try try that rubbish.)

That, however, doesn't apply to the situation in the USA, where the haters have got mutually reinforcing networks of hate. If we can distract, overwhelm or otherwise disrupt those networks, we can start working on the individuals - and we need to listen to those who have left such networks, and find out what worked, what didn't, etc (the evidence includes not jumping down their throat, from memory).

Those people who have left the networks of hate or, in my life, "come round", are at the starting point of a learning curve. They're not what I would consider good people, yet, but they've reached a point of neutrality where they can start to improve.

And, in all cases, where people are committing active harm against other people, whether the harmers are physical or nonphysical, police or white supremacists or others, they MUST be restrained and prevented from harming others - in, given that the means affects the ends (see two paragraphs previously), as BPM a fashion as possible.

Two points to consider now are:
What thoughts and/or emotions can you project into the psychic soup of the world that will engage with - from their perspective, not ours! - and heal the hearts and minds of haters, or at least constructively distract them from encouraging others to hate?

Also, how are you going to look after yourself - and your allies - while you do that?
I'm going to finish with a previous of a future post in my "magickal battle of the world series", one that will probably be posted in a year or so (as I wrote, things can take a long time - my psychic weather forecasts are intended to be a 30 year series). This post introduces the idea of a sequence of skills to be developed psychically - much as a lot of this blog does.

Draft of Future Post

The actual techniques are covered elsewhere on this blog, and a manual I wrote in the 80s is (mostly) available at https://regression-rescue.blogspot.com/. (I can also email a PDF to anyone who wishes - ask via the contact form.)
The key basic psychic techniques are, in my opinion:
-          Self-care (begin with nonphysical health, strength and wellbeing), protection, and preparation (see here - the pages are paired: a sequence of steps on one side, and the facing page in the hard copy had explanatory comments. I once started retyping and updating this [particularly the terminology], but haven’t the time, energy, nor, frankly, given the low interest, inclination to progress that further);
-          Understanding and working with emotions (see also Karla  McLaren’s “The Language of Emotions” [Pub. Sounds True, Boulder, 2010, ISBN 978-1-59179-897-2, Sounds True, Amazon, Readings] );
-          Healing (see here and here);
-          Checking (see here); and
-          Clearing (see here and here).
Other key psychic techniques are:
-          Spiritual application of psychism (see towards the end of this post, here, here, here, here);
-          Rescue (see here, here, here, here, and here).
There are other techniques as well, and you can find those throughout this blog, but those of particular relevance can be found here.
The key group matters are, in my opinion:
-          learning how to work as an effective group, which we have already covered to an extent, but see, from my online manual, here, here, here (when I redrew that, I put personal conscience at the top), here, here, here, and here, and, from other sources, here.
-          planning / preparing (see here, particularly here and here, for instance, but also the sequence of stories via here).
Read the links, and then plan how you wish to approach learning, developing and refining those techniques.

PS - something else I've realised that I've been doing automatically - as I have done it for so many years, now - is directing positive healing and supporting energy through my BPM Guides to whoever is guiding, leading and training the protestors in the USA. I don't need to know who they are, I can trust my BPM Guides to know that, and for my BPM Guides to take my energy to where it is best needed. This is, I suppose, an exercise in surrendering control and working actively with trust.
