One of the major problems with this time of year is the expectation of family get togethers.
Many of those are good, or at least free of disharmony, although maybe prone to wasteful over-consumption, performative falsity, etc, but some are actually problematic - for instance, no-one has to tolerate bigotted nonsense, psychological hostility, forced endurance beyond their limit of socialisation, assaults,etc. - and some families can be prone to such issues.
The truth is, despite the social pressures and commercial propaganda, socialising is NOT compulsory - especially with people you do not see any other time of the year (and workplace end-of-year functions now come with a plethora of warnings about DEI, trauma, not breaking laws [especially about drink driving], etc - refer to LinkedIn, for instance).
For those who are neurodivergent, or traumatised, it is important to consider your own well being and limit or avoid (I go with blanket avoidance of anything outside my immediate household and a few other close friends) - and not only for your sake.
The increased awareness that socialisation pushers can potentially gain from having the fact that family or other get togethers are not always good, or even neutral, is something that could well be of great importance to their long term spiritual evolution/growth.
Similarly, it can be important for the socially avoidant, such as myself, to understand and acknowledge that others do find such get togethers good and beneficial.
In a sense, this is largely a case of to each their own - but the warnings that apply to workplace end-of-year functions also apply to other functions.
Take care - be safe (especially on the roads) & well, and enjoy yourself to the extent and in the manner you (legally etc) can.
Part of my enjoyment will doing the work of this blog - disasters and suffering don’t take a break ... at least I can also celebrate the coming graduation of a young friend in Africa who we have been helping get through a Uni course.

PPPS - this end of year period has NOT been a good one for me. The blogging problems will continue for a few more weeks yet.
PPPPS - the gathering of so many people with the nominal intent of togetherness/sharing/goodwill also makes doing BPM work such as healing easier and more effective
