Post No. 2,973 - a concern: the failure of scientists etc to understand the nature of human rights-history-politico-social threats ...

I have a great deal of respect for Dean I Radin, however I found his understanding of the human rights aspects of politics is flawed.

The only way to understand the threat that Tr_ mp and his controllers are is to think in terms of what H_ tl_ r  did - hopefully we won’t see another world war, but, as an example, Tr_ mp has already indicated he will make an existing mass atrocity that is likely a genocide worse, and if Tr_ mp sets back the fight against the climate crisis Tr_ mp will be directly contributing to the possible extinction of a lot of life currently on earth.

And yet, In his book “Real Magic”, Radin considered those who sought to bind Tr_ mp as if they were simply acting out of a political disagreement and this was a simple ethical consideration.

Ethics are ALWAYS a consideration (I posted about this at the time), but it was not simple because of the scale and nature of threat that happened under that regime - and, as a white cismale, I do not consider it likely (but it is possible) Radin had a proper understanding of just how bad things were under that evil regime ... and not only in the USA.

(Others in the UFO/UAP/ET field have commented on their First Nations heritage: if you are white passing [as I am] be wary of assuming you know what it is like to be part of a minority. Others in that field have considerable problems with racism and radical right orientation.)

This is basically, I suspect, partly (a) Mr Radin making the mistake a lot of others do, which is thinking their qualifications/experience give them permission/skill to comment on areas outside their area of expertise - someone I saw when I worked in engineering to a very great deal, and something physicist Sabine H is notorious for (but she is very good on physics), (b) lack of knowledge in these human rights-history-politico-social matters, as I mentioned above, and (c) a radical right bias that is evident in this field and in too many individuals generally from the USA, a bias made worse over the last half century or so, a bias that shows at its worst with the reluctance to take part in collective actions to make this world a better place rather than trumpeting the “rugged individualism” that too many people cannot possibly do (Shirley Maclaine falls into this error as well, in my opinion, and yet a lot of her information is sound)

In his areas of expertise, however, I continue to have the greatest respect for Mr Radin, and will continue to recommend his work - including in my monthly exercise reminder & ethics posts.

Possible flaws

Where I can, I will try to highlight possible flaws / issues you should consider:

  • there may be flawed logical arguments in the above: to find out more about such flaws and thinking generally, I recommend Brendan  Myers’ free online course “Clear and Present Thinking”
  • I could be wrong - so keep your thinking caps on, and make up your own minds for yourself.

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).
