Post No. 2,975 - And bye bye to another social media platform

I recently reported a shocking piece of misogynistic misinformation on LinkedIn, and was told it complied with their policies. 

So I did a quick little bit of Internet research, and came across the following:

A comment beginning “I find misogyny to be far more prolific and overt on LinkedIn vs Twitter”   https://www.linkedin.com/posts/zoescaman_i-find-misogyny-to-be-far-more-prolific-and-activity-6996887455756910592-otEp/      

“Misogyny and LinkedIn — An Unexpected Duo”   https://medium.com/athena-talks/professional-misogyny-2245c477c58e   “Telling the world that misogyny is alive and well in this day and age is nothing new; neither is online harassment. What is new, to me, is encountering such Neanderthal behaviours in a public business forum such as LinkedIn”   22^nd March, 2016   I am no longer a member of Medium, so have only read the heading, sub-heading, and first paragraph

A comment beginning “For my trans siblings and allies, I don't know about you, but I get tired of responding to messages of hate/transphobia on LinkedIn and everywhere else”   https://www.linkedin.com/posts/liampaschall_responses-to-transphobic-comments-activity-7100454198751707136-HPhU/     

My experience is clearly not unique, so it is clearly time to leave that platform - which I was only on after retiring because I hadn’t got around to leaving. 

I have now.

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).
