Some time ago I developed the term "neochristianity" for people who get caught up dogma, power structures, fear, etc rather than Christ's actual message. I wrote about that at https://gnwmythrsglossary.blogspot.com/2015/05/neochristianity-christianity.html, including a link to a very interesting analysis by an Anglican priest of the options and choices made by early followers of that religion which showed how easily the neochristian churches could have turned out to be much better.
I've now found some more on that, which is that Pelagius disagreed with the concept of "original sin" that has been used by the neochristian churches to condemn every human born. For more on Pelagius' view see https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pelagius&oldid=1032057753#Pelagius_and_the_doctrine_of_free_will.
Mind you, Pelagius' comments about Pagans are wrong, so keep your thinking cap on, as always.
