Post No. 3,404 - Keep doing the work of this blog to contain/stop the war in West Asia

There have been some major developments regarding the war in West Asia:

  • in the Straits of Hormuz:
    • insurance issues have apparently been resolved [1]
    • Chinese vessels do not appear to be exempted from attacks [1], which raises doubts about the ability of China to contain the actions of Iran (which may, in turn, have significant adverse outcomes for Iran at a future date);
    • attacks on merchant vessels have occurred [1]
    • the US navy does not have the number/type of vessels to escort convoys [1];
  • the possibility of the USA taking and removing Iran’s nuclear materials has been raised & discussed [2] - which may, IMO, make some other forms of attack by Iran more likely, but the difficulty of the USA doing that means it has officially been limited to being considered” ... for now
  • the possibility of battlefield nuclear weapons are being discussed [3] - I suspect, in the case of the USA, possibly as part of any military action to try to recover Iran's nuclear materials, but Israel could be the one to use nuclear weapons;
  • the risk to desalinisation plants is major [4]

All of this means it is even more vital to continue the work of this blog with a view to:

  • BPM  stopping the war from spreading (and especially preventing any further t_ror_r_sm)
  • getting nations/organisations/people to BPM  take a broader, longer term (including of impacts on their reputations), and more humane BPM  perspective, and BPM  comply with the laws of war & IHL and de-escalate;
  • ensuring all casualties BPM  receive BPM  prompt, adequate, and effective rescue & aid;
  • ensuring those who have died are BPM  helped to pass over (spirit rescue);
  • all those impacted by these events, both directly and indirectly (there are many people outside West Asia who have relatives/friends/colleagues there, the cost impacts are going to cause a lot of harm globally, and many people's mental health will suffer), receive all the BPM  protection, healing, and other aid they need;
  • BPM  minimising the death, injury, and devastation;
  • BPM  preparing the way for BPM  future recovery and rebuilding; and
  • make sure the E_st__n files are still receiving attention and the quest for justice and healing for the victims, and prevention of any similar future events, continues.

Possible flaws

Where I can, I will try to highlight possible flaws / issues you should consider:

  • there may be flawed logical arguments in the above: to find out more about such flaws and thinking generally, I recommend Brendan  Myers’ free online course “Clear and Present Thinking”
  • I could be wrong - so keep your thinking caps on, and make up your own minds for yourself.

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).
