Post No. 2,815 - Some interesting reading/viewing

Here are some llinks that might of interest or value:

  • “Are you a giver or a taker? | Adam Grant”   https://youtu.be/YyXRYgjQXX0?si=flXABv0K3YKJxQk9   This is the best video on psychological aspects of working (and living) with other people - not only in business, as the presentation focuses on - that I have come across in many years      I may look for more talks by this presenter - such as   “The surprising habits of original thinkers | Adam Grant | TED”   https://youtu.be/fxbCHn6gE3U?si=FXghmDWTFo9IrDSA   which is very interesting (especially on browser choice/joke)      Those also led me to:   “Why do we celebrate incompetent leaders? | Martin Gutmann | TEDxBerlin”   https://youtu.be/DU06c7f9fzc?si=888jbGWWOHm6IVrY   “Management historian Martin Gutmann challenges us to rethink what great leadership looks like. While we tend to celebrate those with a proclivity for action and brash words, great leaders are often precisely those who don't need to generate excessive noise or activity”   We need to celebrate boring leaders as they are often better

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).
