There is a point from yesterday’s reflections post which I consider needs its own standalone post, and that is:
- “Is Hexing Ethical? Witchcraft Musings” https://youtu.be/pixH3agIPXg This a good, nuanced discussion on the ethics (although I am still in the anti-hex camp - especially hexes aimed at daily life, mainly for ethical reasons [e.g., one of the problems with the death penalty is that is promotes a view that some lives are expendable, rather than promoting respect for all: similarly, using hexing is not promoting constructive approaches - which, even if they take longer, are more likely to be permanent than traumatic approaches - such as the problems with humiliation in medical training outlined above], but also as it is an attempt at negative learning which also includes things like corporal punishment ... but I also note that those who use nonBPM units and lose them may - wrongly - feel as if they have been hexed, but they have been relieved of their ability to do harm or insulate themselves from the harm they are doing, which is not at all the same thing) - and the comments about people who assume being hurt automatically means wanting to hex, the importance of being able to accurately direct work (including to only aspects - and this is a key part of my advanced clearing work), and categories are good
Specifically, I want to emphasise my (slightly edited for clarity) commentary on why I do not use hexing:
I am still in the anti-hex camp - especially hexes aimed at daily life, for ethical reasons.
E.g., one of the problems with the death
penalty is that is promotes a view that some lives are expendable,
rather than promoting respect for all: similarly, using hexing is not
promoting constructive approaches - which, even if they take longer, are
more likely to be permanent than traumatic approaches - such as the
problems with humiliation in medical training outlined [in yesterday’s reflections post ], but also
as it is an attempt at negative learning which also includes things like corporal punishment ... but I also note that those who use nonBPM units and lose them may - wrongly - feel as if they have been hexed, but they have been relieved of their ability to do harm or insulate themselves from the harm they are doing, which is not at all the same thing.
When you use hexing you are aligning yourself with those who smack or cane children - or use similar methods against adults.
When you use hexing you are aligning yourself with those who advocate for the death penalty, in that you wrongly think there are limits beyond which some people “lose” (partially or wholly) their human rights.
When you use hexing, you are forgetting that no soul is extinguished, and we can and do bind ourselves with chains of hate as effectively as bonds of love and thus risk (there are exceptions) condemning ourselves to sharing future lives with those we hate.
(Don’t think that this means forgiveness is an answer, though: most forgiveness is an excuse to get out of changing wrong conditions, and thus just perpetuates the abuse that the short sighted are seeking to absolve people of.)
The BPM approaches I am advocating - especially Form 09 - take longer, take more self analysis and growth and a LOT more healing all round, and take more effort generally ... but they are less likely to be reversed or undone, and are thus more sustainable over the long term.
PS - these concerns do NOT apply to self defence, nor to isolation/blocking techniques such as freezer spells
PPS - there is an utterly absurd claim that people can’t know how to heal unless they first learn how to hex, which is like saying people cannot learn how to apply first aid unless they first learn how to stab or kill people. Knowledge such as being able to classify types of units helps, but learning that is NOT the same as learning how do harm!
Possible flaws
Where I can, I will try to highlight possible flaws / issues you should consider:
- there may be flawed logical arguments in the above: to find out more about such flaws and thinking generally, I recommend Brendan Myers’ free online course “Clear and Present Thinking”;
- I could be wrong - so keep your thinking caps on, and make up your own minds for yourself.

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).#PsychicABetterWorld and candles for Viva La Résistance à Tr_ mp! and may all that I do be of value and actively BPM used for and by the nonphysical BPM
