Post No. 3,136 - Do not be small-hearted

Further to my post   “Post No. 3,129 - #KindnessIsThePoint”   https://gnwmythr.blogspot.com/2025/06/post-no-3129-kindnessisthepoint.html   , we know the word small-minded, but I consider we should also know the word (and avoid being) small-hearted - which is every person who puts a limit on their caring, such as “only family”, or “only people like me”, or “not those” (which is different to the only online reference I could find, at https://forum.wordreference.com/threads/large-small-heart.2298396/). 

So ... avoid small-heartedness.

Post No. 1,164 - Magick and the Curses of Selfishness, Small-mindedness and Simplification

Every now and then I do a search to see how it seems people are approaching magick. I've just done that again, and, sadly, it still seems to be predominantly from the perspective of "what's in it for me?" - and I include those who are seeking to use magick to make themselves better people in that, although I was a little encouraged by this page.

There are a few points that people seem to be unwilling to accept.

Firstly, it is possible for people to act to make the world a better place, and practitioners of magick need to learn from those who do progressive social activism (including, for instance, Amnesty  International, Freedom United, the campaigns against blood diamonds, conflict resources, and human rights abuses in smartphone manufacture, etc). The excuse that just one person cannot make a difference is just that - a BS excuse.

Secondly, ALL uncontained strong emotion and thought GENERATES PSYCHIC ENERGY. The suffering of the poor generates energy that affects all  and thus it is important to lift people out of poverty (any stupid, flippant responses about getting rid of poor people exacerbate such energies). The hate, fear and anger of bigots is an active, albeit low-level (undirected, unconnected) form of magick. Allowing that energy to exist without balance is choosing to stand back and allow evil to flourish!

Doing magick to make the world a better place is NOT interfering - it is restoring balance.
