Post No. 3,360 - A past life of mine, and some reading/viewing

One of my past lives was as a mother a few centuries ago in the north west of what we now know as the USA. 

It was a ... “close to nature” sort of life, a polyamorous relationship, and I had three surviving children (some had died of illness) when I died in childbirth. 

That life was also when I realised - deeply, viscerally - that there were times and circumstances when it was not enough to “just” be a parent - I could love and care for my children to the best of my ability, but that would have no impact on the sort of experiences and events that my children would go through. 

That life was when I realised (during my post-life review) that it was an essential part of being a good parent to care what was happening in the world, and to act as best one can to fight against the larger, harmful influences and for the larger, more helpful influences. 

That included social movements, being prepared for climate and weather variations, and getting involved with things like politics - to prevent wars, to be prepared, and promote broader minded changes. 

And in this life, that has included not having children myself, so I can better continue my task of being a better parent - but for ALL children.
