Post No. 3,015 - This week’s focused and active King Tr_ mp issues: the destruction of justice, starting of a tariff war - or war(s), more bigotry ... and good responses

It appears there are three issues that are going to attract a lot of media attention this week, and I am going to start collecting news and commentary links on them separately now. 

Those issues are King Tr_ mp acting to destroy justice in the USA (and I note that the US justice systems had major problems as it was, but this is making the situation much worse), beginning a long threatened tariff war, and more anti-DEI bigotry. 

(By the way, I have given up re-typing the capitalised titles in lower case: it was just taking too much time. But I still from upon that click-baity practice ...)  

 

The destruction of justice in the USA:

Rachel Maddow explains.”      
  • “FBI Agents Get INSTANT KARMA for SUPPORTING Tr_ mp”   https://youtu.be/GyM6notDl00   “MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas reports on the FBI Agents Association in shock after hundreds of their members were fired when the FBI Agents supported the people who fired them.”   This is a very important point: these amathiacs supported this vicious vengeful person      



The starting of a tariff war:

The risk of war(s):

  • “Tr_ mp Makes FATAL DECISION as world UNITED AGAINST HIM”   https://youtu.be/21M0iAzci70   “MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas reports on fed up world leaders turning against Trump and preparing for the worst”   The worst being war - i.e., military preparations are being made against this bullying thug;      
  • “Tr_ mp has SUNDAY MELTDOWN as Canada STANDS UP”   https://youtu.be/uTvSodcPlMk   This is economic war (including an expected economic collapse - complete with BREAKING the people of the USA), with King Tr_ mp wanting to grow his empire - he is using the language of conquest, and creating a risk of World War III      



More anti-DEI bigotry: 

  • “The low keep getting lower, as shown by Tr_ mp’s response to the DC plane crash”   https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/feb/01/trump-responds-washington-plane-crash   “When asked about his plans to visit the crash site, Trump made a joke: ‘The water? You want me to go swimming?’”   “Trump isn’t the only one using a tragedy to attack DEI programs   ...   JD Vance has similarly insinuated that even if they can’t find any minorities or women to directly blame for the crash, it was still somehow the fault of DEI”   “Viral posts have been circulating online falsely identifying _, a transgender pilot with the Virginia national guard, as one of the pilots of the Black Hawk helicopter.   _ has had to release a statement on Facebook as “proof of life” in response to these posts.”    “To be clear, this is what the Tr_ mp crowd’s obsession with DEI is really about: plain old bigotry.”     

 

There is some, frankly, stupid commentary this week in Australia that stopping/cutting back on DEI doesn’t harm people, or isn’t significant (and from authors who should know better). Bull. For those of us who rely on DEI measures for things such as equal access in workplaces and to be able to treated with basic decency, IT BLOODY DOES MATTER.

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).
