One of the key aspects of this week’s coming reflections post is the functional coup in the USA, committed by M_ sk and some very young ... geeks(?).
That coup has caused terrible problems, and is quite rightly being resisted and must be reversed and future such events prevented (and those responsible for this coup punished according to law), but it also illustrates something, which is:
in the modern world, the paleolithic devotees/physical perfectionists (anti-disability, etc)/gung-ho military-militaristic-paramilitary-aggressive martial arts persons are not only outclassed, but near completely and utterly irrelevant - knowledge and tech skills are the power of this world
Ethics still applies to what is being done, but this change is more profound than historical changes caused by, say, the transition from worked stone weapons to metal weapons, to ranged weapons, to gunpowder weapons, and to industrialisation.
Managing it will be a matter of intellect - as happens, for instance, in legal progressivism ... and politico-socio-economic progressivism.
What has happened in Gaza shows how terrible combining advanced tech and industrialised weapons can be; the recent functional coup in the USA shows that the weapons are optional - in at least some situations.
And those bigots who oppose accessing the skills of people with disabilities, or who are part of minority groups, are, in addition to being inhuman and inhumane, causing damage - including to what they claim to be caring about (usually national prestige).
Possible flaws
Where I can, I will try to highlight possible flaws / issues you should consider:
- there may be flawed logical arguments in the above: to find out more about such flaws and thinking generally, I recommend Brendan Myers’ free online course “Clear and Present Thinking”;
- I could be wrong - so keep your thinking caps on, and make up your own minds for yourself.
