I have been trying to change the ALP from within for a number of years - as have many others.
It has been difficult at times, especially given the PM’s problems with transphobia (which seems to have disappeared, but I am not convinced he is no longer transphobic - especially given his publicly stated pride in his neochristian religious dogma) and profound delay in acknowledging that Israel has caused a human rights disaster (I agree with the many experts who describe it as a genocide) in Gaza.
And now we have this, which is from my coming weekly reflections and news post:- “Labor MP questions Albanese on claim ‘good people’ went to anti-immigration rallies” https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2025/sep/02/labor-unease-anthony-albanese-comments-march-for-australia-rallies-ntwnfb “‘Where do we draw the line?’ backbencher Mary Doyle said to have asked at closed-door caucus meeting” WTF??!!! Good people can be duped into doing evil, so they’re being good is completely and utterly irrelevant if they are committing evil (such as supporting hate speech against minorities) - these Tr_ mp echoing remarks were politically naïve to say the least, and actively encourage right wing extremists who will take this as meaning them!!!
What the hell is wrong with the PM? Does he not realise he just parroted TR_ mp???
Possible flaws
Where I can, I will try to highlight possible flaws / issues you should consider:
- there may be flawed logical arguments in the above: to find out more about such flaws and thinking generally, I recommend Brendan Myers’ free online course “Clear and Present Thinking”;
- I could be wrong - so keep your thinking caps on, and make up your own minds for yourself.
