Post No. 2,590 - Wrong and inaccurate/incomplete information in the UFO/UAP field

Some time ago I read a novel which built up a plot device about hidden predators amongst humans based on the high numbers of people reported missing each year in the USA. It was effective in terms of the drama of the story, and accurate in terms of reports made, but what it didnt include was that the majority of complaints were “resolved” - that is, the people were found - by the end of the year.

Similarly, a statement was made in a normally sound YouTube UFO/UAP/ET programme about an astronaut whose DNA changed, relative to his twin brother, after spending a year in space, that didn't cover the whole story.

The DNA did change, true enough, but the article at https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/tests-on-astronaut-and-twin-brother-highlight-spaceflights-human-impact/ also includes the following:

After Kelly returned to Earth, most of the physiological, gene expression and other changes returned to normal within about six months.

I probably wouldnt have bothered with this post, except that presenter also made a ridiculous claim about the suns apparent position being 40 degrees different now than it was a few years ago.

This sort of addicted-to-dramatics exaggeration does nothing but harm credibility, and cause anything that was of genuine value to be thrown out.

The UFO/UAP field needs far less of this intellectual laziness.
