Post No. 2,192 - Balance, nuance and truth (5 - 7 min. read)

I’ve just watched Grant Cameron’s video “Disclosure Update Presentation” [1] . It’s a long presentation, and covers a great deal of material: what I want to touch on from that video is the description of adverse interactions with extraterrestrials.

In the 70s, when I first came across this sort of topic through the writings of the controversial Lobsang Rampa [2] , and those writings were largely positivist of extraterrestrials, although the need for caution cropped up a few times.

Notably, there was significant weight given to a group referred to as “The Nine” (or that may have been “The Council”, but it comprised nine entities [or consciousnesses] ), who also featured in the amazing book “Briefing for the Landing on Planet Earth” by Stuart Holroyd [3] .

However, as a number of sources have pointed out, experiences with extraterrestrials are not always good. (I’ve also touched on this at https://gnwmythr.blogspot.com/2021/08/post-no-1980-soul-agreements.html, which also comments on carnism [4] .)

• The balance here is to recognise that not everything is pleasant;
• the nuance is to recognise that people’s attitudes also have an influence (if someone has been taught that “anything not human is evil” - e.g., by a particular religious upbringing, or they are simply - and very humanly - overwhelmed by the experience [which Whitley Strieber [5] writes about in his books] ); and
• the truth is to recognise that most experiences with extraterrestrials are positive, a significant portion of negative interactions later are viewed as either benign or positive (not in the cases of death or other harm), and a lot of this is about raising our consciousness and making us truly spiritual.

Another example would be the balances between various aspects of our life. As a quick illustration, work and life is often divided into two when described as work-life balance, but:

• pandemic lockdowns have shown the benefit to many people and companies of “work from home”;
• many people get their self-esteem from work (too many people, and to too great an extent, in my grumbly opinion, but that’s a topic for another time and/or place) - and sometimes their social connections;
• families and homes may be supported financially by work, but also often (not always - families are far from perfect, and companies are starting to recognise the problem of domestic violence) provide restoration, healing, and support for workers, and thus may benefit companies.

So the boundaries are not necessarily clear cut, and that raises a bunch of human rights issues, but that’s for another time.

Having described those examples, what I want to cover is the balance between our spiritual life and our mundane life.

This has usually been presented as a conflict between     “engaging with”     (to simplify, living in human society and having a job & a family)     and     “withdrawing from” (to simplify, the stereotypical living on a mountain top, or most people’s incorrect perception of being a monk or nun [many are fierce advocates for human rights - albeit sometimes flawed by their beliefs] . . . but some have been awful, terrible, unmitigated child abusers)     “the world” - meaning, human society.

Ultimately, we are a spirit having a human experience.

However:

• when we are living in our spirit-based existence, we interact with other forms of life - so clearly that is not always the same as the “living on a mountain top stereotype”;
• some people benefit from withdrawing from the world, but others find human interaction uplifting and inspiring (and there is tantric or sacred sex);
• some people need both;
• our needs can change over time - on various scales of time, ranging from hours or even minutes up to lifetimes (and longer);
• the benefit of the other can often be judged by its impact on our ability to function in a more caring way in the other. Pema Chodron wrote of a monk who, after years of meditating in a spiritual retreat, walked in to town but, when a young boy stood on his foot, started to react with anger, so he turned around and walked back into the mountains to do more meditating [6] .

Thus, the balance between material and spiritual also needs to be viewed through the lenses of truth and nuance.

Post No. 2,127 - Grant Cameron interview with Peter Maxwell Slattery

I have just watched a very interesting interview with Peter Maxwell Slattery on Mr Grant Cameron’s YouTube channel.

Peter Slattery came across well in this interview - I might watch his documentary after all (available via here, although it appears to include someone I suspect to be transphobic). The comment in the interview on assessing the validity of information against the yardstick of how well it helps us evolve is excellent - and the discussion on meditation (possibly for several hours each day) was also very good (particularly after having read Daniel  Goleman and Richard Davidson’s book “The Science of Meditation“).

Other experiencers have also talked, as Mr Slattery does, about being in contact with other aspects of themselves - including from the future, or parallels (which was my experience until that parallel died). Similarly, others have also talked about multiple species. (The information on Peter Slattery’s website [here - and also see here] has interesting similarities AND DIFFERENCES to others’ information. The differences support the independence of this information, so I am pleased to see that, but the underlying similarity of the core or structure of the information is something I will address below.) 

Incidentally, the discussion around “race” (and this is a criticism of the entire UFO / "UAP" field) should actually use the word “species” - failure to do so shows a lack of awareness of the problem of racism (see here for my thoughts on that).

I also definitely agree with Mr Slattery that we have a high psychic / spiritual potential, which, in fact, ties in with what has been written by quite a few others - now, and throughout history (one of the comments on the video states “This is essentially the Theosophical doctrine of esoteric Buddhism. Read Blavatsky’s Divine wisdom, or the commentary on it by Annie Bessant” [I don’t know to link to specific comments, and the handle doesn’t lead to a useful channel] ).

In fact, one of my cautions about Mr Slattery’s work to date has probably been over this apparent lack of awareness of what others have done (the book Mr Slattery wrote on CE-5, for instance, does give some attribution at the start (although my understanding is that J. Allen Hynek developed the first three categories, and Stephen Greer I though originated [popularised?] the CE-5 category, but the rest of the sample of the book I read didn't seem to deeply appreciate the work of those before - which, of course, may be different in the entire book). I don’t, however, consider that arrogance, or a refusal to acknowledge what others have experienced / known - it could also be a case of this is coming through independently, which is something I have also done (for instance, see here), and also has happened with a few inventions, discoveries, etc, such as Darwin and Wallace (see here). That apparent independent channelling / access to information with strong similarities basically provides support for the universality of spiritual principles. (Incidentally, I consider there is a need for better thinking in the UFO / “UAP” field - see here.)

A few other comments:

• orbs are interesting: an ex- and I used to occasionally watch them come in one wall and slowly drift across the room and out the other wall (these were bigger and slower than the ones in the trailer for Mr Slattery’s documentary trailer / videos);
• the discussion on deity aligns with the definition in Stuart Holroyd’s book “Briefing for the Landing on Planet Earth” (page 286):
  “a unified infinite intelligence supported by pure love and which grows with pure love”;
• the comments about lens flare are correct;
• the description of UFO movement/navigation tied in well with what Bob Lazar has described (see here);
• phrases like “implosion-explosion toroidal field” do NOT impress me. Terms like “breaking down to an electron” are, in my opinion, a reasonable attempt to describe what is happening, but I suspect the phrasing is slightly off. On the other hand, expressions such as “body computer” or “bio-computer” (instead of “meat suit”) are excellent;
• as a crystal worker, I like the references to crystals / crystalline units (I always do);
• “black helicopters” as phenomena / manifestations (because of the orbs seen in them and the discontinuity with air flight physics) is an interesting thought;
• progressive disclosure to match our rate of growth / development matches my experience and that of others, and the comments about changes in one’s life (gain / lose friends, etc) and the importance of increased tolerance / acceptance and being a decent human being as one grows also resonate (strongly);
• the interconnection / overlap between physical and nonphysical contact experiences are good;
• the consideration of chemical substances (as used on alleged shamanic experiences in South America - I won’t name the drug) to cause experiences are a dead end path.

In my opinion, the interview is worth a look.

Post No. 2,123 - Grant Cameron's "Contact Modalities", and astral doorways

I have now finished reading "Contact Modalities: The Keys to the Universe" by Grant  Cameron and Desta Barnabe (pub. ItsALLconnected Publishing, 2020, ISBN 9798649219884). I have already referred to this book (see here, here, and here), and I still recommend it strongly - it is excellent. 

To me, it is like an update to Lyall  Watson's (see also here) "Supernature" (pub. Sceptre, 1989 [first printing 1986; first pub. Hodder and Stoughton, 1973; first pub. in paperback Coronet, 1974, ISBN 0 340 40429 1; Amazon), but for those who do not know that earlier book, "Contact Modalities" explores  wide range of accessing nonphysical information and perceptions, including techniques generally described as "psychism" or "ESP" or "Remote Viewing" these days, along with a stack of other techniques (some with a long history of use), and explores what this indicates about reality. This draws on scientific research along the way, and I found the information on the brain both fascinating and interesting.

Well worth buying and reading.

Some years (actually, decades) ago I read (and subsequently mentioned here) J. H. Brennan's book "Astral Doorways" (pub. Aquarian Press, Wellingborough, 1971 [2^nd impression 1982], ISBN 0 85030 242 0), which has been a good reminder of some astral - as opposed to etheric - travel techniques (I am still looking forward to having the opportunity to develop my ability to do etheric travel). It is still only available as a hard copy version, not digital, but it has some useful information in it - including how to draw a pentagram, a version of the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram, some interesting postulations about the nature of reality, and, of course, a range of doorway techniques intended to be used to access the astral. 

I'm most drawn to the elemental doorways, but the symbols and colours are not what I would normally use, and I'm finding the doorways take me to places I'm not expecting - for instance: 

• the purple oval, nominated as being for Æther, takes me to the tree I use for shamanic journeys to the underworld (I use the elements for shamanic journeys in this level of reality, incidentally - often combined with non-physical shape shifting); 
• the blue square, nominated as being for earth, takes me to a lovely little tropical cove - it's not anywhere in the (white coloniser name) Cumberland Group (which many people wrongly call "the Whitsunday Islands" - Whitsunday is the white coloniser name for the passage between the islands and the mainland and - nowadays - for some of the islands; for information on the traditional owners, see  here, here, and here), which I sailed in when I living in central Queensland, but it has a very similar feel and turquoise water colour; and 
• the silver square, nominated as being for water, takes me to an extraterrestrial platform in space, in an area that I was told is in what we refer to as the  Pleiades.
  

Next, to see where the red triangle (for fire) and yellow square (for air) take me . . . 😉

BTW, the technique is explained in the book, and, to simplify, is based on staring at the shape until, when you close your eyelids, you see the shape in  its "reverse" colour - and then projecting through the shape. As always, establish and check  BPM  protection, and make sure someone knows what you're doing and can get you back.

Above all else, be mentally flexible, and don't assume things have to work for you the way they do for others. If you feel unsafe or unsure, back out of it and discuss the matter with your BPM  Guides, but I pursued the above exercises even though they didn't take me to the element I expected, and thus have new techniques that I can use. 

 

Post No. 2,083 - Further Reflections on Spirituality [Content Warning - racism]

To master reality for one's own benefit, with no thought of making reality better for those without the same mastery, is selfish and unspiritual. 

For example, consider this, from "Contact Modalities: The Keys to the Universe" by Grant Cameron and Desta Barnabe (which is an excellent book that I thoroughly recommend, by the way), on the plasticity of the human brain:

"The whole process becomes one of personal responsibility as opposed to outside victimization by uncontrollable events. The idea that the brain is static and unchanging is wrong. The brain has the ability to change functionally and physiologically by adding neurons." 

Yes, that is true, and a benefit for individuals in many ways. However, it ignores many avoidable problems - such as, say . . . poverty - that have major impacts on the brain. 

Wouldn't it be better for those directly involved in situations of poverty, and for the world as a whole, if poverty was eliminated, and thus the amazing adaptability of the brain unleashed for the benefit of all? As I wrote in this post, how many Michaelangelos, Eleanor Roosevelts, and Albert Einsteins have been lost to the world in extreme poverty?

People born into poverty are NOT there for reasons of alleged errors, but they - particularly the young children - suffer the well-demonstrated developmental and other harms of poverty (including the limitations in creative thinking that arise as a result of being focused on survival). 

And poverty is capable of being acted on - China and the word generally have shown that by the reduction in extreme poverty that has occurred since the 1980s. I contend that we can do better, with things such as the non-paternalistic "direct giving" and better thinking about how to contribute (see https://80000hours.org/, and also here, here, here, and here). 

Of course, this notion of seeking to make others' lives better has been around for thousands of years - it is, after, all a key part of Buddhism, particularly the concept of bodhicitta / bodhisattva.

Now, I'd like to turn back to a theme I've addressed a fair bit in recent weeks: racism. 

As I've written a few times now, I've been quite struck by the very apparent - to me - problem of unconscious endemic racism in extraterrestrial contact field. The ETs described are all variations of Caucasian - even when they have differently coloured skin. The inclusion of different bone/physiological structures is good, but how come none of these variations includes anything that can be related by people of colour (PoC)? 

To try to argue that a Universe that has PoC (black, brown, red, and yellow) on Earth has variations such as blue in the rest of the Universe but no darker hues is utter BS. 

Now, we know from life on Earth that people of colour - black and brown and red and yellow - are not intrinsically worse or better than whites - yes, there are the very real effects of discrimination (including poverty), but put whites in the same situation for the same length of time, and they would also suffer the same consequences.

We also know that unconscious endemic racism is an all too real problem. 

I started thinking about this after watching the DW video "The Nuremberg trials: Uncovering Nazi crimes" (see also http://www.nurembergfilm.org/).

It seems ironic for racism to be a problem in this field, given the extent and historical length of ET contact in non-white cultures - see, for instance, this author, the second part of this book, and this.

Post No. 1,951 - Newtonian worldviews - beaten again :)

Back in 2009, over on my now long retired-into-inactivity ideas blog, I had been thinking about an issue and came up with an idea for a catamaran that was less affected by waves. Cool, I thought ... then I found out the idea was actually an old one. From the updated version of that post: 

I have just found that this is actually quite a old idea. According to a Wikipedia article about the "Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull":
"The SWATH form was invented by Canadian Frederick G. Creed, who presented his idea in 1938, and was later awarded a British patent for it in 1946. It was first used in the 1960s and 1970s as an evolution of catamaran design for use in oceanographic research vessels or submarine rescue ships."

Apparently skin friction resistance was quite an issue, although one person overcame that by putting the propellers on the bow - I tried to find the YouTube video on that, but got drowned in so many videos about SWATH developments I gave up. (found it - here, about a US Navy ship.)

Now, Newtonian worldviews, or, as I sometimes term it, the Newtonian heart, mind and soul, which I developed in the context of my political blog in 2018.

I have now found that people in the extraterrestrial arena have been using the term for some time. 

Oops. 

Also, sigh ... this is one of those many situations where ideas haven't been circulated as widely as I would like them to have been. 

But it also illustrates a point I've written about, and that has also been written about by others: sometimes ideas come to this world through multiple entry points (people).

Incidentally, I now think this has been around since the 1980s, although my frustrating lack of outcomes from searching this morning is continuing, and I cannot find the actual reference now. If I do, I will add it to this post.
